We have been coming here for years while renting a house in the area. Each time we have come, the staff has been great and helpful both getting on and off the boat. The quality of the boat we have gotten each year has steadily declined. On our most recent trip the boat, the boat was very run down and the motor lacked a reverse and a very difficult throttle forward. We love renting here and enjoy the staff. Hopefully they will make the boats a little nicer. read more

Excellent experience! My friends and I (10 passengers total) rented a pontoon for a half day to go fishing and crabbing in the bay. The reservations process was easy, the attendants took his time to explain where to go, how to go, etc. We had one experienced boater among us, the rest of us didn't have a clue, and we managed to get to the middle of the bay and back with no problems. SCAM ALERT. Do not believe the pricing online. Or even if you talk to them and confirm over the phone. It's a bait and switch. They don't honor their prices or give you an excuse as to why they don't have that boat available even after calling to confirm multiple times. Terrible service over the phone. The owner doesn't even bother getting on the phone. He makes this teenage girl make the calls. Don't bother. Go to Vans right next door. Better service honest pricing. read more

Great prices, but make sure to call and CONFIRM you reservation. I called the day before and they had me scheduled for the wrong time (morning slot instead of afternoon). Because of the schedule mixup the pontoon was no longer available for my timeframe and I had to settle with a smaller boat. I called again in the morning to try again for the original request, but still nothing available... very annoying as it was a birthday gift. Overall, without that mixup the prices are fair and include a lot. Fishing rods and bait are extra but fair prices. read more

Quick context, I grew up spending summers driving 18-35' power boats in down east Maine and still log 6-10 days per year. We rented a pontoon boat for a 1/2 day with a party of 10, including four kids ages 5-8. Gorgeous weather and mid-week traffic. Good: $275 (inc tax) for half day Friendly crew that actually know the bay and charts Bad: The area of the bay is limiting to a few channels The boat was *very* outdated, e.g. Ripped seats, non-working electronics (cassette player), rough running engine. We had fun, and the price was $100 less than Hobart, where we went last year and had a great experience, but the condition of the boat would prevent us from returning here again. The extra $100 is worth the luxury (Hobart was a 2015-ish) Bentley pontoon) and piece of mind that it won't brake down. read more

Great spot for a short ride to fishing spots and more time for fishing. After many years of vacationing in LBI, I finally convinced my husband to wake up at 5:45 am to watch the sunrise over the Atlantic. Since we were awake, we decided to take a drive for coffee and enjoy the solitude of the morning. We headed north toward Barnegat light and discovered a tiny shop open at 6:00 am selling bait. My husband hadn't been having much luck surf fishing so he decided to stop in and get some advice from a seasoned angler. Another bait shop had recommended artificial lures which proved fruitless. But after a friendly conversation, he was now armed with some live bait ( clam) and new weights for his rig, and he was guaranteed that he would catch something Sure enough, about an hour later, casting into the ocean as the sun continued to rise in the sky, my husband caught a nice size fluke. And later that day, my 13 year old son reeled in his first sand shark. Many thanks to the advise and expertise of the helpful salty dogs at Bobbies!!! My family and I have never gone boating or fishing or crabbing before. We came here in hopes of having fun and experiencing the wonderful accomplished feeling of holding a day's catch. First off, the service was pretty good; the owner was patient and explained everything in the right amount of detail. One of the younger guys were also very helpful! The kids need to brush up on their customer service, but hey, they're young and have all the potential in the world :) We rented two fishing poles, two crab traps, and 1 tiller motor boat. We also bought a pack of spear head bait for the fishing poles. Altogether it was about $90. I'm not sure what to compare this to just because I've never gone fishing and such before. Was it worth it? Yes and no. Yes because I had the most fun out in the water in my entire life. The anticipation of a catch.... the dangers of falling in because I get too darned excited.... getting attacked by seagulls 'cuz I was eating Mum's amazing home baked cookies.... Spending time with my family out in the water in a boat. C: No, because with all the information that we were given about the best crabbing spots, we only hauled in like.... 8 crabs, and we could only keep 5. LOL So much for bushels of crab to feast on. Sigh, that was the biggest disappointment of the day. I DID catch a lot of starfish though-- cute lil things, heehee. I felt my mother's pain, spending over $100 on gas AND rentals only to go home with 5 crabs.... They tasted pretty good though. Atleast there's that. Maybe I just need to come here at a certain time; I WAS told to come at like 7 am in mid-August for best crabs. I'mma do that :) read more

The Guys a duce bag. When we were out in the bay it took us many pulls and a lot of time and effort to get the engine restarted. When we finally got back, the guy (owner) was glaring at me, we were late. I paid the extra amount but when I told him his engine was screwed up, he started bellowing at me...Jerk..not a way to spend a vacation day. Go to Vans you will be happier. read more

These guys are the best. Everyone there is super friendly and helpful. We came with 10 people and we weren't familiar with boating or fishing and they were patient and informative. They are also very reasonabley priced and don't nickel and dime you, for example when fishing we lost a hook and sinker and we offered to pay for it, and they said don't worry about it. Do not use this place!!! They are located directly next to the coast guard. The owner/manager tips off the coast guard if he thinks you are drinking. We had a designated driver but was held up for like 45min. I have never seen a business that doesn't care about repeat customers as bad as this one. read more
