This was probably my 10th half-day for fluke in the past 12 years on the M.B.L. The crew and Captain have always been extremely helpful this past Friday as in all the years past. The crew doesn't stop working from the first drop till docking, (make sure you tip them well, as they more than earn it). Capt. Scott also assists and is a real fun person to interact with. Boat is always clean from bow to stern. Over the years I've gotten skunked and had a bite or two. But this past Friday I purchased a few packs of a synthetic bait on the boat called "Gulp". Don't pay attention to the M.B.L website which says they do not sell it on board. Capt. Scott will assist you with the proper bait to buy. And no lie, between me and my wife and sister we caught over 23, we actually lost count, fluke. My wife caught our only keeper, a little over 19in. We also had a few almost but just short keepers. It's safe to say on this past trip we caught more in one day than all our other trips combined, by a long shot. Make sure you buy "Gulp" on board!! If you don't have a good time during the 5 hours on board it may just, be you!!! read more

This was no more than a money grab to end the season. On November 1 the captain left the dock in Gail force winds with seas around 10-15 feet to go out an offshore trip with the target species, Yellow fin tuna not being around for weeks. He thought if he could get a swordfish or two it might make the trip. The wind made it impossible for him to get to the spot he had planned so he just went to some where and hoped for the best. There was one big eye tuna caught. It was basically like winning the lottery the fish picked up a tile fish rig off the bottom in 700 of water. We had a lovely relaxing time on this sunset cruise in Barnegat Light. The cruise is from 7pm-8:30pm. You catch the beautiful sunset on the way back. On the way out, it was beautiful to see the lighthouse upfront but the most amazing view is on the return when you see the sunset with the lighthouse in the backdrop. We were lucky to be there on a clear, sunny day. There is ample opportunity to take photos throughout the ride. About a half hour into the trip, the captain announced that he was opening up the captain's room for kids to go in and steer the boat! Each kid got to sit on the captain's seat and steer the wheel. This is isn't a dinner cruise but they sell drinks and alcohol on board. It was very windy on the boat. I'd suggest bringing a jacket. read more

Ten women went in this boat ride. 3 of us got sea sick and one thrown off her feet. No concerns of the crew whatsoever. There was no entertainment, no Audible Announcements. BORING! read more

Overall, this was an excellent fishing trip for us. I went with two other people, and we caught a total of 7 fish - sea bass, fluke, and a sea robin. It was neat to catch such different fish than what we are used to with freshwater fish in PA. The only reasons that I did not give it five stars are because 1.) my daughter got sea sick, and she was so sick that she could not fish. She did not even touch her pole, but was still charged the full price for going. And 2.) there was a collection of five dollars from each person toward a pool for the biggest fish or at least what I thought was the biggest fish. Even though people were catching fish, none of them were measured or weighed. There was no mention of the winner at the end of the trip. At the very least, they should make it more clear how the pool works. Despite these things, I would still recommend this fishing charter. It was a lot of fun!! read more

We decided we wanted to go on a cruise out in the ocean. We found this place on yelp and highly recommend the sunset cruise. It seemed to be between and hour to an hour and a half not really sure. It was perfect though. Not to long and not to short. The cost was only $14 per person and they also do have some beer and rum punch on board. Can only drink when your out in the water though. Again I would highly recommend this trip. read more

Lovely boat with a great crew. Ample parking at the dock. Rods available to rent onboard. Bring cash, as they don't take cards. Bait included. Just some tips... Do not sit in the front of the boat! I made that mistake & was SOAKED as we headed out. Freezing cold at 8am! Made for a rough couple hours of shivering until I dried out. Check ocean report before you go out. Was out in seas that were beyond my liking...lol. Several sick passengers. There is a sink on deck to wash your hands with liquid soap provided. Clean bathrooms, one for woman & one for men. Tip the mates! They work hard regardless of what you catch. :) read more

So I'll start out by saying that this was my first fishing trip out on Long Beach island and I was pretty disappointed. Me and my boyfriend noticed that the workers on the boat just carelessly threw access line into the ocean while we we aboard. They also were extremely rough with removing the hooks out of the fish, we even seen a few people stab sting rays and other fish for no reason at all. After this experience we will not be returning. read more

Can not believe that there are not more reviews of this boat. Went fishing with my brother and his son on 11-3-2013. Wanted to catch some striped bass but only my nephew caught a fish. A blue fish. No keeper stripers were boated that day. None. However, It was not because the Captain and crew did not try. I bet these guys made no money because of the fuel they burned trying to get on some fish. They could not have done more. I have been on boats where I feel like I am getting my pocket picked but there guys were doing all, and I mean all, they could do to get on it! Crew was great. I am not looking for some colorful "salts" on a head boat. I want a guy that is helpful and not treating the rookies like they are worthless. These guys were top notch and good guys. Boat. Great boat. Check out the web site to get the details. What the site will not tell you is that it is clean, there is room to move around and a nice big cabin area to sit and get out of the weather if you need to. Great top deck for ride out and back. Cat so the boat is pretty fast and does not rock hard. So... if you want to fish a head boat fish this boat. Leaves at 7 be there by 6:30. Tip the crew. read more

Their sunset cruise was fantastic. We brought my 95 year old mom, who has been going to Seaside for 75 years, to see the lighthouse and the south end of Island Beach State Park. I was easily able to get information by phone the previous day, parking was available very close to the entry point of the boat, and the ride was just $12. There was just one step up and step down to enter the boat. The route went out the bay through the inlet between LBI and IBSP. Fun to see folks fishing out on the jetties on either side. We had several angles of the lighthouse and made an extra loop because some dolphins had been spotted. We went up Island Beach SP a bit and then turned and went down LBI. The sky had heavy clouds so we were all surprised that a brilliant sun somehow peaked through for us at sunset. Everything was low key, contributing to a friendly vibe among the guests. I think it lasted an hour and 15 minutes, just enough time but not too much. Highly recommend. read more

Shout out to Miss Barnegat light. We rolled up with about 20 family members. Ready to board the ship. The captain came and said the weather did not look promising. There is a slim chance of thunderstorms and rain. Rather than risk our safety, he chose to turn us away, knowing he would lose several hundred dollars. The boat is fun for the first couple hours and then it gets LONG! 5 hours is too long. They go to some good places where a lot of fish can be found but the lines get tangled every 2 minutes. There are way to many people on the boat which creates havoc. There is nothing to buy on the boat such as food so u need to bring a cooler which you aren't told until you get on the boat. I would recommend renting your own boat or finding another party boat! read more

Even though I have owned a boat for as long as I remember I occasionally like to hit up the party boat and head out for some lunker blue fish. I have always done this on the Miss Barnegat Light. I have been taking the kids too since they were old enough to hold a pole and we try to take a trip or two every year. This tradition continues today. Being a 90+ foot catamaran this is a very stable boat even in rough seas. I'm not saying if you're prone to sea sickness you won't get sick but the width of this thing helps the rocking. Very fast with a decent crew that is always willing to gaff that monster lunker on the end of the pole it is definitely my choice. Available for you too are pole rentals, food, tackle, and beverages so basically all you have to do is show up. Filleting of fish is done right on board for you but don't forget to tip the crew for doing this. They also run tuna canyon trips. Gotta do this at least once! read more
