I installed some Fleetwood windows and door in 2016. Shortly after installation, found that one custom glass panel has wavy rainbow pattern under the sun ( should be clear), reached out to Fleetwood W and Fleetwood W acknowledged that Low-E on glass has failed. Fleetwood W agree to provide New Glass replacement, but won't pay for any labor. My window contractor quoted over 1K to get this new glass on. What i have learned over the years is that If you purchase its products through a local contractor, all service and warranty issues will be referred back to this Contractor. Often the Contractor will charge you at least a few hundred dollars to look at any issue( even minor service issue).It is stark contrast with my experience with other Window company. I recently reached out to Milgard windows for warranty service issue, Milgard Windows was very responsive and stand behind its products and get my concern addressed. Fleetwood Windows will not stand behind its products. I dreaded contacting them each time. So buyer beware, consider any comparable products with better warranty/service support, or deal with them directly without using a contractor in the middle (if your options is limited). read more

First rain after install, and the windows are leaking underneath the crank. Installer said it's missing/damaged gaskets (manufacturer error) and caulked it while awaiting gaskets, but the caulk has not provided even a temporary fix. And still no gaskets. Interior drywall and windowsill are damaged by water intrusion, too. And if the windows have to be replaced, then all the siding and drywall has to be redone. So effing frustrating. We paid over $60k for windows, and we've been leaking like a sieve for over two weeks. This should never have happened in the first place, but the lack of urgency in getting it fixed makes it even worse. It's absolutely unacceptable. "Spontaneous shatter" is a high potential risk with the tempered glass on these doors. You are looking at a $3K glass replacement for a Fleetwood dealer to do the work, and that's after the 50% warranty coverage from Fleetwood. The doors are beautiful, but I could've likely sourced them through a less expensive dealer. Plus, the paint on the trim is chipping. We went with the builder's recommendation. Poor quality. Even worse customer service. We have a very expensive Fleetwood window and door package that is 5 years old on a new house build in Hawaii. All the gaskets in the corners of the glass panels are failing. Fleetwood is telling us that they will only cover parts but no labor to fix the defective gaskets despite their "lifetime" warranty. Sad state of customer service..... No desire to make things right or stand by their products. We had a call with there service rep who questioned as to why it even mattered that the gaskets in the corner of the glass panels were failing. So when, in 2019 I decided to replace the front door, back door, and several other windows, i jumped at the chance to acquire more of these gorgeous products. Never have I been so disappointed in the shift of quality in those intervening years. The lock boxes for both doors have never worked right. We had technicians out several times, and were always told tough luck. The $4K front door hinges, despite being a supposed "commercial grade door" continue to shift and move out of alignment. Now we are being told it is $1K to replace the faulty lock box on the back french doors. I expect at some point the lot of us will form a class action and demand that this company stand by their luxury product. Until then, count me as a loud and unhappy FORMER customer. read more

We respectfully request that Fleetwood Windows and Doors, Inc. maintain, and preferably improve upon, its latest delivery commitment of March 7, 2023 for the three sets of pocket glass doors listed in the subject order as there have already been numerous delays affecting our home remodel project that are now putting our property at risk. To provide some background, our contractor, Steve Vollkommer placed the order for the Fleetwood pocket glass doors at One Stop Windows and Doors (OSWD) in Torrance, CA on June 21, 2022 and was given a delivery date of November 14, 2022. Later that summer we were told the November delivery date was being pushed to January 23, 2023. This change was generally acceptable to us as we were given sufficient notice to push our remodel start to the January timeframe with little effect on the project or the integrity of our home. As the January date continued to approach, we made sure to check-in with OWSD a number of times to verify January 23rd was still accurate, with no indications that the delivery would be delayed further until January 21st when we learned that this new delivery date was going to be February 9th. Needless to say, this was a bit of a concern to us given that we learned this just 2 days before the expected delivery, however, since the push-out was only 2 1/2 weeks and our order had been delayed so much already, we elected to commence with the demolition of the front of our house so that the surrounding structure would be ready for the doors upon arrival. Much to our dismay, we learned from OSWD that the order had been delayed once more, this time with the new delivery date set at March 7th, a full 4-week delay! How is a 4 week delay possible given that multiple delivery delays had already occurred, with the most recent being only 2 1/2 weeks? These are the actions of a business that does not have its process under control. At present, our top floor is fully exposed to the elements (see picture provided), with multiple days of rain expected to commence later this week. Our contractor is doing what he can to protect our home from the weather, but the risk of significant water damage to the floors below is very high. We are well aware of Fleetwood's sales order language stating that delivery delays can occur, and we are also aware that there are worldwide supply chain challenges affecting virtually every type of US business, but neither of these facts absolve Fleetwood of its responsibility to provide timely communication to its customers (whether bad news or good) so that they may make informed decisions to address the effects of the delay. A company of the size and experience of Fleetwood no doubt possesses an ERP system capable of reporting the delivery information of every open order with very little effort, and a reasonable expectation of every customer is that there are individuals at your company assigned the responsibility of conveying this information on a regular basis and/or online tools capable of providing this information in real time, so there is no reasonable excuse for keeping the customers you presumably care about in the dark. As stated at the beginning of this letter, we respectfully request that Fleetwood take every action necessary to expedite our order to mitigate the risk of damage to our property. Our order may be small by comparison to those placed by large industrial builders you likely do business with, but if customer service and satisfaction is important to you and your organization, then our order should be no less important. I shared the property address, the date of the build, the architect's name, the contractor's name, the name of the property, and the name of the original owner with the customer service representative who was unable to find anything about my property in the roughly fifteen seconds I was on hold while she searched. In my last house with Marvin windows, I contacted the referenced company for a warranty repair. They came out, fixed the window and that was the end of it. I did not need to provide any validation, receipts, order numbers, etc as the fact that they were Marvin windows with a problem was sufficient to invoke the warranty. To my understanding, Fleetwood is a much smaller company and thus to validate that a property has legitimately installed Fleetwood windows/doors under warranty should be a much simpler undertaking. While I didn't expect that the excellent level of service I received from Marvin was standard, I did expect that Fleetwood - a much more high end brand - would stand behind their product. To deny a repair under warranty unless the subsequent owner can provide the original order number by which the windows/doors were ordered is not reasonable. Who has that information? Absurd. While I appreciate your suggestion I again contact customer service, I fail to see how that will result in a different outcome than when I last contacted them. read more

Horrible experience with Fleetwood. We spent around $26K on new windows and sliders for our home, opted for the "higher end" Fleetwood windows based on sales rep. 18 months later I'm laying in bed and all of a sudden the glass in one of the sliders shattered. Nothing struck the glass, it was only the inside pane that broke into a million pieces. We reached out to Fleetwood for their warranty and they told us that "it does not look like spontaneous breakage" and have ignored all of our messages. They have not responded to us at all and have not been willing to even send someone out to take a look. As a licensed architect with over 30 years of experience, my advice is to avoid Fleetwood Windows at all costs. They are very expensive but the quality control is terrible, the hardware is very lightweight (and cheap). The anodized finish is extremely fragile and CANNOT be touched up!! I just spoke to the rep for the Southeast Jim McCoy and he admitted that once the finish is damaged you must replace the frames. This is my first 1 star review ever on Yelp. I have had many instances that I've almost left them but I struggle with trying to help improve a business vs hurting a business financially. What can I say about this atrocious company? We ordered windows back in august. They have been delayed over and over again. They blame it on COVID delays but be honest up front. Our house is completely open- cannot live in or close up the house because of these delays. Months and months and months without a primary home for us and our children (and pets) to live in. The regional VP called us and said he would do all he could do to help us. So far, our dates only Got pushed out further. When you pay over 80k for a few windows you expect decent service but it's been awful. We flip several homes a year & we own design businesses as well as a mortgage company. We have already told several customers who asked us who to use for windows "we cannot advise Fleetwood at all". We purchased an entire house replacement doors from Horizon Doors in WLA about 7 ago. Then 6 months after installation, we realized that the anodized aluminum frames were becoming tarnished. After exhausted efforts emails and calls our contractor Horizon Doors in WLA , they completely blamed everything on the manufacturer, refused to let us speak to Fleetwood and finally refused to help all together. We were dismissed! Then I got on Yelp about 4 months ago and complained about the manufacturer. I received an immediate call and after a few visits to assess the tarnished doors Fleetwood agreed to replace the frames and even one of the fixed glass panes in one door. The job was completed today to our great satisfaction. Considering the company was recently sold I was pleased to hear that they agreed to stand behind their work and warranty. Their repair/installation team is top notch and we would highly recommend that if you are considering their product USE them. Just don't use Horizon doors in Wet LA. We paid well over $100,000 for our windows because our architect said we needed these. They are horrible in a colder environment. Supposed to be thermally broken, but they frost over every winter, melting into the carpet or down the sheetrock. Popping the paint.The hinges have broken and the lock mechanism on two of the doors-patio and front door has broken TWICE. Adding insult to injury, there is no Fleetwood dealer in our city any longer and it is a nightmare getting service on the windows. Biggest mistake we made building our house. The same Fleetwood that hides behind an interpretation of a defect. The same Fleetwood that ships a less than perfect product. One that did not pass the 'little things' test. The same Fleetwood that does not care. ***To the best of my knowledge, ASTM is not a government agency, but an independent, members-only, organization. Members include 'producers' like Fleetwood who take part in the creation of the standards. "Fleetwood is the only window manufacturer in the country with 2-times tighter standards than the ASTM criteria...5' vs 10'. In the example above, we would replace the glass because the defect is seen at 5'. In your home though, the 'defect criteria' is a few inches and viewing at peculiar angles, which ASTM deems unreasonable and we agree." ***The defect is seen from 5' - probably from 10' - and it does not need a "peculiar viewing angle". Standing in front of the door is all it takes. "I hope you will look beyond the imperfection and enjoy your beautiful home." *** Thank you for the compliment to my home but, to the best of my knowledge, you have never visited my home. Of all of the manufactured products we purchased for our house, Fleetwood's have been the most problematic. First, they were late in arriving. Then when they arrived one of the critical windows had to be returned because it was manufactured incorrectly. And then even when the windows and doors were installed they required repeated visits from the reseller to adjust or repair -- screen doors that weren't properly manufactured, screen latches that didn't work, door locks that didn't work, and of course the infamous plastic door handles. It has been a nightmare. Our architect no longer recommends using Fleetwood. Strong agree. read more

This company is off the charts from a consumers perspective My parents have a house in San Diego. It was remodeled with Fleetwood windows in 1994. In 2014, i noticed some of the door latches needed to be replaced. Not because they were defective but because my parents and others forcefully closed the sliding doors with the latch in the closed or locked position. After 20 years, some were bent so i called Fleetwood to have them serviced. They were there 2 days later and literally checked out everything and fixed anything that wasn't perfect. They also refused to let me pay, which was ridiculous. I said i will never ever not use them if i needed doors and windows. We recently completed a new home, of course with Fleetwood, and we are thrilled. Our architect spec'ed Fleetwood windows and doors so we purchased 30 windows and doors. When the product works right, it is great. Unfortunately, we've had many issues. 6' x 10' slider too heavy to open with 1/4" handle, door locks not working, casement windows flop 8-12" in modest breeze, casements not sealed completely when closed and locked. Our biggest problem, however, is a tri-fold window that drips through the weep holes to the interior side of the window. Condensation and rain water is constantly coming into the kitchen. Fleetwood refuses to take responsibility for these problems and pushes us to our contractor and the resale distributor. Solutions are have been developed and some are corrected despite Fleetwood's position. I cannot recommend Fleetwood and regret not pursuing alternate manufacturers. read more
