Enter Brunswick Central Vet Clinic. Here she gets her regular check ups (and hates them), I get to ask questions about her behaviour (why is she so obsessed with boxes?) and can stock up on healthful cat goodies. She is finicky little princess and will only eat the fancy, expensive stuff from the vet (which is fine because it's so much better for her than stuff from the supermarket.) You can easily make an appointment in the morning and get in only an hour later - it's a tweak more expensive on the weekends so try and get in on a weekday if you can. Oh, they also have a puppy school!

It was lucky for me that Brunswick Central is only a short distance from our house and it was recommended by friends. After several visits I started to notice also the attention they give my pet when I come in with concerns. They ring you after appointments to check in on how the furs are going and are able to fit you in fairly quickly. When I take my dog in with concerns, they listened and assessed her thoroughly. Lots of real cuddles and treats to make them feel comfortable so vet visits are never too scary. I joined their pet care package too ( you pay upfront every year ) and you get all the worming and flea controls included and a nice reminder when they are due, their regular vaccines, and consult fee if you need to attend the 24 hr emergency care partner clinic. Ive always felt comfortable and have trusted them with my furbaby. The clinic also run a small group puppy school but ring ahead as they get booked out

The waiting room was a bit worn and old but grumpy, old Cujo did not object to the condition of the reception room, as she was busy complaining about the condition of being in a cat box. Dr. Chiang's assistant doubles as the receptionist and often the reception room looks unattended. The clinic room is clean and well ordered except for the huge number of photographs of dogs and cats that Dr. Chiang has on one of the walls. Some of his many happy patients, Cujo was another happy patient. She responded well to his treatment and she never complained about Dr. Chiang even when he stuck took blood samples. As a single vet clinic the hours are a bit odd: 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm during the week only.

If you've signed your pet onto their best for pets program, a number of use of the Hydrobath is included in the package. There seems to be 3 clinics under the same brand, Carlton, Brunswick and Fitzroy. We go to their Brunswick clinic which don't have a Hydrobath onsite, so we are able to go to either Carlton or Fitzroy to use this facility. Towels and shampoos are available for you to use, and the Hydrobath is a simple deep tub to wash your dog in, a giant blow drier is available to use to dry your pooch quickly. Booking is required

My vet (or rather, my dog Lucy's vet) is at the Carlton Veterinary Clinic located on Rathdowne street in Carlton North. Lucy is getting on a bit and therefore needs a bit more special attention - she is a little bit blind, a little bit deaf and, well, just really old in general. the people at the Carlton Vet Clinic are always fantastic, and like Miriam said in the previous review that will look after her at the drop of a hat. It really does put your mind at ease to know that this gem of a vet is available and will do everything they are capable of to look after your pooch/cat/guinea pig.
