I've come in twice now, once to buy something as a birthday gift to myself and another time to try on some different sized bras so that I could buy online. Both times they associate were sweet and helpful with getting the sizes needed and giving their opinion on fit and view (I'm not really familiar with my bra size). Even when I made it known I was just size trying to buy online they were helpful. It took me some time to gather my thoughts and write this review following the exceptionally poor service we experienced during our visit. Blonde woman, dressed very unprofessionally and another nondescript person who didn't engage with us - though was dressed more appropriately for working in a store & interacting with the puclic. While it may seem trivial to the staff, being greeted with only a meek "hello" while they remained behind a desk / engaged with their phones does not create an inviting atmosphere. Sure, you technically "welcomed" us but that should have told us everything we needed to know about this brand. Despite the first impression, we continued to browse, but the lack of engagement was evident. Their idea of "welcoming" spoke volumes; there appeared to be little desire on the the staffs part to actually assist us or even initiate a conversation. Maybe if we came in waving money they'd give us the time of day. It really is strange, especially in this area known for luxury shopping, NYC SOHO of all places, to be the only customers in a small store yet still feel ignored. This could have been such a fun personal experience for my wife (we were birthday shopping). Anyway, We left shortly after realizing we wouldn't be helped. Some other people also came in (and right back out) and weren't helped so we are certainly not taking it personally but absolutely won't ever be back. Really is a bummer because the lingerie and clothes are pretty but for the price you would expect an appropriate level of service and care. I posted this review online elsewhere and they responded with an offer of a free private event.... Honestly that felt weird. You can see all their responses are basically the same canned apology and offer to come back and spend your money (no discount of course). It seems like no one takes them up on the offer because well..... why would we? And none of the reviews change either. Of course, if we had a private experience they would HAVE to be nice to us. I definitely don't want to go now just to have the same people who couldn't give us the time of day the first time, ACT like they care. Best lingerie boutique experience yet. Mack was the sales associate who helped me on the floor, she met me with charisma, great energy, and the determination to help me find the perfect piece I was looking for. She went above and beyond and gave me a myriad of options to try while I was in the fitting room and was so sweet when it came time for me to check out. Now I not only have the most beautiful embroidered bralette but I left having made a friend. I will be recommending this location to all of my girlfriends looking to fulfill their lingerie needs. 10/10 what an excellent place! read more

I just want the manager to know that your staff of ladies do wonderful on greeting, but as soon as you come inside some of your staff are not welcoming (particularly the tall short haired Caucasian female staff attendant on shift today, Saturday around 4:30pm), When I walked in, at the moment I looked at a lingerie piece, the staff member narrowed her eyes and looked me, a potential customer, up and down from head to toe, saying, "Can I help you?" She narrowed her eyes the entire time we spoke, furrowed her brow and did not smile. This is feedback so that you know and understand which members of your staff need training on customer service. Even if the staff has a look that is meant to serve a luxury customer, their attitude towards everyone who comes into the store needs to be welcoming, because you don't know who is walking into your store. Today was my first impression of the brand. And while the group of ladies who welcomed me in offered a positive experience, the staff member I mentioned above had a negative impact on my impression of the entire brand. Management, please train your staff to treat everyone equally regardless of their personal biases. read more

I have been a Fleur du Mal fan but I have to say this boutique goes ABOVE AND BEYOND!! I live in Los Angeles where they also have a boutique and shop online often. I received an email Saturday evening stating the Mott St boutique had one left of an item that had been sold out and asking if I was still interested. They were already closed when I reached out Saturday so I sent an email response and tried again Sunday. I woke up Monday to a clear email and instruction for completing the purchase. I also called and spoke with amazingly helpful staff. I was treated like gold by the staff and felt valued. My item was shipped that same day and they communicated every step of the way. In contrast I had also ordered an available item from the online store last Friday. I reached out today (Tuesday) as it still hasn't even shipped! I explained the difference in the AMAZING service from the boutique and the dismissive service from the website. They responded saying they would reach out to the boutique and let them know they should have gotten back to me sooner??? I wish the online business was as accountable for their business as the boutiques. This location makes it a joy to shop and feel special. Thank you to the staff at Mott St for making me feel exactly as I expect when shopping with you. I went to the SoHo store last Saturday afternoon with 3 friends excited to try on the iconic Fleur Du Mal lingerie sets, but was absolutely appalled by the sales associate that we interacted with (I think her name was Sylvia). She did not acknowledge us upon entering even though we were the only shoppers and it felt like she was silently judging our every move which made our experience so uncomfortable. Every time I asked her for help she responded in a passive aggressive manner as if I was inconveniencing her. Beyond rude. This is not the retail experience one should ever receive especially at a luxury store. I was so close to not completing my purchase because our interaction left such a bad taste in my mouth. However, their pieces are beautifully made and flattering to every body. I purchased the teal floral set and fell in love with it. So I ordered from the online. Read the return policy, sent my items back, and soon received a return voucher for $211.50 at my email address. This was over a month ago. Well fast forward to today when I was looking to buy a skirt and was told my refund code didn't work. Reached out to customer service and got an out of office reply from the first email address. When the second rep replied to me later today I was informed that I should have gotten a new refund code, this time for $110. So a full hundred dollars less because they never received one of the items in the return and never thought to reach out to me. No, it was just easier for them to never send me a new code and try to fleece me out of over a hundred dollars. I'm sorry, but I followed their instructions and sent the return fully packaged up to fedex. If they lost one of the items, that is not my fault. No way to treat a customer, especially with how expensive their clothing is. You should be ashamed, Fleur du mal. Avoid this brand. They don't care about their customers! read more

The male employee working at the store today publicly shamed and embarrassed me for having body odor and wouldn't let me try on a bra. Under no circumstances is this okay, but on top of that he didn't even have any empathy or even try to be polite or discreet about his issue with me. He joyfully humiliated me until i left the store. Amazing lingerie and clothing but awful online ordering experience...I placed no less than five order in the last month with the same account same name same address and using the same 2 credit cards , some how the order placed on the 4th got flagged by a Mr Bruce Lawrence at global e that ask me for screen shot of my credit card statement for proof of non fraudulent action , I did sent him the screen shots straight away as requested....I waited I even contacted fleur du mal as I was a bit worried if that guy was legit , but a Lillian ( I think it's her name) said yes not to worry....so I waited , I even place another 3 orders in the meantime and even returned some of the unwanted items from previous orders ....today 9th of April I received an e mail telling me my orderGE3735949084US got cancelled with no explanation why , this was my main order with all the thing my wife really was waiting for , she was so impatient that she even reorder one skirt yesterday through her PayPal account but on my account thinking I was not going to see it ( lol) the worse thing is that the amount from the cancelled order that is over 4000$ is still pending and therefore blocked in my account until now .....if it had been a fraud how on earth did you allow me to reorder and deliver items to my house whilst checking on my other order . I gained enough weight during COVID to go up a couple of bra sizes and was in the market for a push-up to show off my sizeable new rack. A google search directed me to Fleur Du Mal in my neighbourhood: Mal - en Française - means evil, which aptly summarizes my shopping experience at this snooty little hellscape of a bra store. Three employees tittering around the counter managed to fully ignore my presence in a two-hundred square foot shop with no other customers in sight. When a salesperson finally wandered over and I asked if they had any push-up bras, she replied "No one makes push-up bras anymore" (insert a Julia Fox voice here in her interview about Uncut Gaaaaaahmmms") The salesperson then asked, looking me up and down, "why don't you try Victoria Secret." At that point I noticed a small but definitely evil smirk growing out of the side of her mouth so I quickly replied "Victoria's Secret makes their push-ups in prison," turned around, and walked out. I have been chasing them for 2 months for my refund and opened dispute with my credit card company. The amount they owe me is over $1000. If you are his boss reading this, I fully endorse giving him a raise, several paid vacation days, and a triple matching 401k. The tasteful Madonna deep cuts are played at a perfect level so that you can have a phone conversation in the dressing room, but no one can hear what you are saying. Sales people will not breathlessly pursue you asking if you are alright; they will only appear like merciful angels when you need to try a different size. At first I saw a little red curtain with neon lights that said PEEP SHOW. I was entranced and I walked in. WOW is all I can say. What a gem on Mott st!
