I had an amazing experience at this store--without having ever stepped foot in it! As a personal stylist, I typically join my clients on shopping excursions. However, when I was recovering from a recent back surgery, I was unable to go. My client was looking for a new suit for a family vacation. Since opening in 1979, this teeny-tiny store has packed its walls with one-pieces and bikinis displayed by color. Prices range from $89-300 in all cuts and colors. Terrible and unsympathetic/unfair associate. I purchased a dress online, and when it arrived, I noticed dirt all along the bottom of the dress. Clearly, it had been worn before or returned. I had called to see about what can be done, and they said "no one has ever called about this before" and that I can call the buyer directly. However, in calling the 244 E. 60th location, the woman told me it, and all orders, are shipped out of the 1151A 2nd Avenue store location (not the buyer). Moreover, the item, a Blue Life brand, was sent in a JUST CAVALLI bag, furthering the point that it wasn't shipped from a 3rd party. In any event, I paid full price for a worn item, and I was simply told to email the buyer which was to an AOL account address (doesn't sound professional) to possibly get a discount as I had inquired (although she said doubtful but that I "can try"). Oh, she also told me to just "wash it". Seriously? I shouldn't need to wash a new, retail-priced item--it should be NEW. Buyer Beware. read more

The sales lady was very helpful and pulled several bathing suits for me to try ok. Large selection and I ended up finding a suit I love. I'll be coming here again! Shahlla was absolutely amazing. She spent two + hours helping me pick out the right bathing suit, and giving me honest constructive feedback. She wasn't afraid to tell me something didn't look good and she gave me ideas on how to mix and match my suits. Pesca has a ton of variety - more than what you see on the racks (she kept bringing suits out of the basket for me to try on!). This was better than shopping at Bloomingdales or Macy's. And the customer service was impeccable. I will definitely come back here to shop for my next bikini. read more

Love the bathing suits here. However, HORRIBLE customer service. The owner, Theresa, is very nice, has great bathing suits, and is super helpful..... but she didn't open her store until 1:15 when it was supposed to open at 11. I was waiting for 2 hours and 15 minutes. The worst part was she was unapologetic. Her mom kept trying to get ahold of her and she didn't answer. I mean ... you own a store- totally unacceptable. She didn't think it was a big deal- said a quick, "I'm sorry." I would have felt so bad doing that to someone. Gave me a small discount- nothing special. She totally ruined my day (with my newborn child in tow I might add). Maybe she should hire someone else to open the store or make it by appointment only before 1 pm because I know people have been complaining about this on yelp before. read more

Love the swimsuit selection but DO NOT plan to arrive at the store until about 1PM because they are rarely open at 11AM. I would absolutely shop there again and thought the two owners (mother and daughter team) were great about finding me suits that fit my style once I described what I was looking for. However, they simply do not keep to the store's opening hours as listed so call first and make sure they are there. And yes, these are pricey boutique swimsuits so you will be paying for the quality and style selection. As long as you keep those two things in mind, you'll be a happy shopper! read more

My boyfriend and I planned a last minute trip to Jamaica. We were leaving the next day, and I didn't have a single bathing suit or cover up to take with me. We live in CT and had a 2:03 flight out of JFK, so I decided that we would leave early as go to the city first so that I could go to Pesca and buy a few bikinis and coverups. We left our home at 9:30 am, so that we would be at the store when it opened 11 am. That would have given me an hour or so to shop and get what I needed, then we could leave there and head straight to the airport to catch our flight. I was so excited about it because I heard that Pesca has some of the cutest and trendiest swimwear and that they carry cup-sized bikini tops (which I need and are not easy to find), so I was definitely looking forward to it. We got to the store around 10:45 am and waited for 11. A few minutes after 11, the store still wasn't opened, so I decided to walk around the corner to the other Pesca boutique, but it wasn't opened either (both stores are supposed to open at 11). At about 11:20, I decided to call the store's number. There was no answer but a voice mailbox came on stating the store hours (11am) and gave me the opportunity to leave a message, but the voice mailbox was full. So I called then number for the other store around the corner, and it just rang and rang with no answer or voice mailbox. I walked back and forth between the two stores just hoping that one would open while I was at the other, and I continued calling both stores several times, but nothing. At 11:52, my boyfriend said we couldn't wait any longer and needed to get to the airport. So in the end, I wasted 2.5 hours going out of my way to go to this place, and I had to leave for Jamaica without a bathing suit, and ended up paying way too much for a cheap bikini in a travel shop. The styles and size options that Pesca offers is exactly what I was/am looking for, so I most likely would have shopped with them every time I needed something new. Overpriced, poorly run pair of boutiques. They have a decent selection of suits but they are incredibly expensive for basic swim wear (some of the suits look like ones I similarly have purchased from target or asos) that may run you over $200. The only reason I actually purchased something from here was because I was given a gift certificate. In terms of being poorly run, on Saturday when the stores were supposed to be open at 11 were open at 145 because hey we're running late. One Sunday the location that was supposed to be open was closed. There was a sign on the window saying to call (which I did) and no answer. I will say the staff is nice, but you will get more for your money for quality at any other department store, etc read more

Ahhhh! Where do I begin? I used to hate bathing suit shopping until I went to Pesca. I've never felt confident in one. Teresa and her team found the right suit for my body and gave me confidence to rock it. I actually felt sexy for the first time. I'm so grateful to their amazing staff. On the surface, it looks small and disorderly, but if you are looking for a suit that fits well, this doesn't matter because the staff there is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable about what you want. Truth be told, I didn't even know what I wanted, and this magical girl handed me a top and a bottom that FIT immediately and made me feel great. Still have no idea how as that has happened exactly 0 other times in my swimsuit shopping life. The suits are definitely expensive, but the quality is obvious. My wife and I stumbled into this tiny little spot on 60th st. My oh my there has never been more truth to the saying "Big things come in small packages" or stores for that matter. As a Florida resident, it seemed a bit odd to shop for swimwear in NYC but man, this place has one of the most extensive range of designers I have ever seen under one roof. But better than the selection, the staff is quite professional. After my wife tried on the second suit, they had her style pegged. I was surfing their website, which is awesome, and pointing to suits I liked. They immediately knew if the cup or bottoms would work with my wife's build. It was something to behold. Very impressive. After a bit of that, they were selecting suits that matched her figure and colors that suited her to a T. I guess being in business for over 30 years has its merits. read more

I live on the Upper East Side and never noticed this little gem. IThe assortment of swimwear and resort wear was beautiful. The store is impeccable. Jessica the sales girl was a sweetheart. I was searching for a particular kaftan she went above and beyond to try to locate the item. Alas, I purchased a different one but it was so nice that she went that extra mile. I already had the top but was just looking for the matching bottoms. Online I could only order the set so I decided to send them an email to see if there was anything they could do. Bad news company. They advertise falsely. The Naila Ikat jumpsuit I received was not 100% silk as stated on their website. It is polyester and it says so on the tag. I paid $25.00 express shipping and my package had to be picked up at the post office because there was $7.10 POSTAGE DUE!!! I talked to the "manager" and she assured me she would refund everything including return postage. Well, I am here posting because she has not returned my calls and refuses now to refund the excess postage and the return postage! This review is for my online shopping experience. Pesca Boutique has a fairly good selection from which to choose. My bathing suit arrived in about a week. I was surprised at how much the shipping cost - $15 especially when I received the package and saw the USPS Priority Mail packing label that shipping cost the seller a mere $7.95. I realize that the additional costs could be for quality control and packaging, but my order wasn't even right. I received the wrong bathing suit bottom. It still matches the suit but rather than a side tie; it's a regular bottom. I will likely keep it because it fits, but it's still the WRONG item. read more

I generally only post on yelp when i'm extremely happy, or extremely unhappy with an experience. In this case, you can tell by my star rating...that this is as good as it gets. If you dread bikini shopping like I do, come to Pesca and that will change. The ladies are all eager to help you find the right suit for for your body. They have a great selection as well. Some of the suits are a bit pricey, but it's worth it if you feel comfortable on the beach or at the pool!! Overall, the service is amazing...I even called ahead to ask a few questions and the women spent almost 10 minutes on the phone with me making recommendations, and checking to see what they had in stock to ensure it would be worth my time to come in that day. The posted reviews must be from the one girl running the "company" as this is NOT a reputable company by any means. It is one girl running a business out of her nyc studio apartment. I am in the process of disputing my swimsuit charge with AMEX since "they" sent the wrong size and after returning it to her, it has not been credited. Email and phone calls are not being returned. I'm the type of person who has one bathing suit that I wear a ton, so I want it to be PERFECT. Pesca had an amazing selection, and the woman who works there was extremely helpful in finding sizes and making suggestions. The best thing about this place is they can put padding or cups in any suit. Mission accomplished here, I found THE perfect bikini- and for a reasonable price. I found out about Pesca through a NY magazine list and didn't know what to expect. I was a little surprises by how small it was at first and immediately thought that I wouldn't find anything. I am a pear shape which makes swimsuit shopping a usually difficult, unpleasant, and frustrating experience. Pesca is amazing. The ladies there immediately get a sense for what you are looking for and your size and start pulling stuff from drawers and racks. The quality and uniqueness of their suits blow department store selection out of the water. There are many beautiful and vibrant choices with interesting details. The girl who helped me was honest with her opinions and didn't tell me that I looked amazing in every one. She was helpful without being pushy or high pressure. I could tell that they've made their reputation by actually making sure customers are happy and feel good in their bathing suit. I will unequivocally go back there whenever I need a new suit. I am from Vancouver BC, and other than Holt Renfrew department store, and then again that's a stretch...you are hard pressed to find ANYTHING half descent in the city! Not only is there a vast array of selection from some of the best European brands, they offer super skimpy bikinis, to full coverage for any woman who happens to be bigger than a size 2. The bathing suits are of the best quality, true to size and you can still look age appropriate and sexy if you're over 25 thank God! The owner Shalla is an amazing woman who I hope to some day meet in person, has always personally spoken to me over the phone to make sure my orders are correct and the sizing perfect. My last experience was last week when I order some bathing suits, I had 2 different sizing for top and bottom for a bikini and she phoned me within 5 minutes of me placing an order to confirm this was right. She is an extremely professional woman who has pride in her business and respects the people who shop there to make sure they are receiving the best service possible! Amazing selection of swimwear and very knowledgeable and helpful staff. I've never had luck shopping for bikinis in the U.S. as the selection is usually matronly full coverage or super tiny cuts suited only to stick figured women with nothing in between. Pesca gets it right and has something for every body. They stock gorgeous designer bikinis from all over the world and the lovely shop assistant helped me find exactly what I was looking for as well as some very flattering suits that I never would have considered on my own. The sales associate was really helpful also and was very patient with me. I had to try on a bunch of bathing suits to find the one I love and she was really helpful and accommodating. I will start off by saying that despite the small size of the store, Pesca has a great selection and I was able to find a few styles that I liked. It's on the expensive side, but flattering bathing suits are hard to find. That said, I had a horrible experience at the store today and will never be back. I purchased a few suits, tried them on at home within the hour, and realized that one of them had been damaged by the clip-on hangars that are usually used (material pulled and disfugured....not just an impression in the fabric). I immediately brought them back and was told I wasn't entitled to a refund. At most she'd give me 10% off or a credit for the amount and pick something else. We're talking a $200 suit where the damage is on both shoulder straps. The store attendant called the owner 3-4 times as I wouldn't budge, refused to let me speak with her, and kept repeating that they have a no refund policy....even if the goods are damaged. I felt completely wronged, and yet helpless as they had my money and there was nothing I could do. So I called the police. Only thing I could think of. Within 30 seconds of the call, I had my money back. Are you serious? This isn't the way to run a business. read more
