They let me use a loaner which was nice, and several hours later called me to tell me the work had been done and billed me. Maybe I'm alone in this - but I prefer my mechanic to confirm the cost of the work before they "do" the work - the receptionist argued with me about this too. When I picked up the car they let me know that unfortunately they couldn't get the part (a front grille assembly) to fit properly and there was a large panel gap. Very frustrating. The part was brand new and the technician confirmed the part was not the problem - they botched the installation and bent some of the tabs holding it in place... so to recap, they screwed up the job and charged full price anyway. Icing on the cake - my new mechanic noticed they removed several of the trim fasteners from the front and "forgot" to replace. Never going here again.

I got to witness their dedication to their customers. A mother and her kids were stranded. They sent staff to rescue them and get the kids to school! He has always been very reasonable with pricing (I'm certain he is among the lowest there is) and his advice and outcomes have always been good. He handles inspections and the basic, simple things like oil changes, regular maintenance, etc. up to and including the more complex such as engine and transmission replacements, for example. My daughter was once told by another garage that she had engine bearing problems on her small Hyundai when it had only 70,000 miles or so on it, and that she would need an engine replacement. She took it to Tom to see about engine replacement cost, and Tom listened and quickly said that he didn't think it sounded like bearings. He checked and found oil level was a bit low so he added some and the noise got quiet. He kept it overnight to check again when cold, then proclaimed that she simply needed an oil change and to make sure to keep oil level at the full mark. That was several years ago, and her car now has 10's of thousands of more miles on it and it continues to run great. That is just one example of Tom's approach. He can be trusted and you won't be taken!

They charged me $9.75 per quart for oil that their supplier quotes to consumers online at $3.99. The charge for the filter was nearly $12.00 for a $7.99 filter. The total invoice was over $100! A local dealer charged me $63 for the same oil change in January 2018. I was really disappointed, as I have recently moved to the area and was hoping to build a relationship with a reliable and honest local business.

I've gone to them from the time Wilmer Miller himself ran it and then Jim, and then the current owner/operators. They always have been able to find the problem when other garages couldn't, and I've never had to return to them because a repair wasn't done right. My son once had trouble with a car that ran great most of the time, but would occasionally start to barely run, or would even shut-off and wouldn't start for a while, then would be okay. He took it to several services garages including the Chevrolet Dealer. Each had their own idea of what they thought the problem was, and then replaced something (in one case, the $600. computer control board - by another garage that wasn't the Chevy dealer) only to have the problem continue with no improvement. Then after trying all of those different outfits, it was decided to let Wilmer Miller's garage give it one last try. I called them myself and talked to Jim (at the time). Jim asked what model the car was (an older Camaro Z28) and then immediately said that they're known for a problem with the mass air flow sensor and that the symptoms sounded just like that. Jim replaced the mass air flow sensor (a relatively low cost, simple replacement, and after that the car ran perfectly. That's just one example of many over the decades where Wilmer Miller's Garage had the expertise to get it done right. Wilmer Miller's isn't the cheapest place to go, but they are reasonable and know their stuff! They are the place to go if you want it done right the first time, and want to know that you aren't going to be told something that isn't true just so they can charge you something.

I knew I would need to get an oil change a couple of times going around, and when it was time, we were in Gettysburgh. We had limited options, and Mike's Kars had good review, and he was a mile from our hotel... so... we took a chance. Pros: Seemed to do adequate work, we didn't have any issues with the car. They came and picked us up CONS: OMG where do I start. This guy ripped us off at every opportunity. 1. I had just purchased NEW bigger off-road tires and we had about 2000 miles on them. Mike decides it's time for my 41k service, and that included a TIRE ROTATION! He KNEW they were new tires. We wer traveling and exhausted and had exactly one day to get the oil changed before heading to our next destination, and extended our hotel to get this done, so I didn't THINK about it but he CHARGED ME $200 TO ROTATE BRAND NEW TIRES! 2. He told me my battery needed replacing, probably the original one, blah blah. I have no idea if it really needed it or not, but he used a scare tactic. I was traveling with my daughter and he mentioned "What if it doesn't start and you are in the middle of no where." I went ahead with the battery but he charged me a WHOPPING $400 FOR IT!! I called my dealer when I got home today and he told me a battery for that Jeep costs $100!! And that I got ripped off once again. 3. He also told me that my radiator fluid was turning acidic and needed flushing. ANOTHER WHOPPING $200+ for that. I asked my dealer who looked at the inspection report for my Certified Pre-Owned Jeep and the chemical report when sold to me was no where near what this guy was telling me. 4. He also said there was a leaky seal on one of the ball bearings and they "discovered" it when the rotated the tires. My dealer said a leaky seal could definitely have waited. 5. Finally, the oil change we came IN for. Instead of giving me Full Synthetic oil which everywhere else was $48, he gave me some kind of blend and charged me another $200 or so. When I got out of there he had stripped us of $1300. Two girls on a road trip. He saw us coming a MILE away and took advantage at every turn. My dealer said all of that would have been taken care of at ANY dealership and that this guy charged me about 4X what it would have cost and of course, the leaky seal and radiator flush, if it was really needed, would have been NO charge. So. They may do ok work, and they may be convenient. But they will take advantage, overcharge, and rip you off every chance you give them. I do NOT recommend these people at all and am MORTIFIED that they did this, and charged over $1300 for what should have cost us around $150.
