Decided to celebrate my birthday at this Hidden Wine Bar right in a small town of Bourbonnais. Small and very intimate atmosphere. Not much seating. Wine selections were nice and food was just as good. A bit Overpriced menu. Waiter seemed to be in a rush which was a little annoying considering they closed @10 and we arrived at 8pm on a Tuesday but he was friendly. Ordered the 2 meat charcuterie was not impressed. Also ordered the steak bites with puréed sweet potatoes which was very tasty and burger for the kid. A decent place for regulars or just to wine down. Should at least try once. Cozy corner by the Jewel. Pork Chop was sweet & juicy. The Old Fashion was tasty too. Quick, friendly service. Will go back again very soon.

This was supposed to be a romantic night out. I had hopes of a lovely evening. We made reservations because it was Saturday night. The restaurant was beautiful, but we were not greeted except for a shout out across the room advising us to choose a table. The tables were much too close to each other. It certainly was not a romantic night out. The food was good. If the sauces had been kept off, the food would've been better. When you pay $45 a plate, you expect more food and excellence. The service was slow. If our plates had been cleared sooner, we had considered asking for the dessert menu. After possibly 10 minutes (it could have been more or less as I didn't check my watch), I was ready to go. I was very disappointed. I am not in the restaurant business, but I know what doesn't work. Where do I begin? Our server wasn't friendly. We made reservations and when we walked in he greeted us from behind the bar by shouting at us to pick a table. I explained we had reservations and he pointed to a very small table marked reserved. Menus were given and he was off. He seemed too busy to answer questions and was not friendly or personable at all. I was not impressed with the menu selection nor the prices. 2 glasses of wine was $23! My husband and I ate here last night and it was a great experience. We had 2 red wine flights sampling 6 different wines. The flight was an interesting mix. The waiter was knowledgeable and provided excellent service. The Charcuterie Board was really good! We ordered the Rib-eye which was delicious and the Risotto Special was by far the best Risotto dish I've ever had. Very relaxed cool vibe definitely a hidden gem in Bourbonnais. read more

Chef Alessandro is a genius. He's from Italy but his cuisine is not limited to Italian food. Terrific cooking and attentive service. The disappointing thing is that Flight 102 is only open five days a week, and always seems to be closed when I want to eat there. But when we do it's probably the best place in town. read more

It was a nice surprise for her and a nice surprise for me as well considering it was our first time here and we didn't expect to find such a nice wine bar in Bourbonnais of all places. I love the wine menu it speaks for itself, a wide range of wines. I've had charcuterie board and a few other appetizers and thought they were amazing. Prices are a little bit more expensive than surrounding restaurants but well worth it. read more

I started with the Preserved Olives. The foccocia bread was delicious, very fresh and flavorful. The olives came whole, which surprised me because I thought they would've came chopped, so I sent them back to be chopped so I could spread them over my bread. Great combo if you ask me. The staff was very accomodating. I had the Seared Scallops for my small plate. Veggies were fresh not frozen, and not over cooked, which I really appreciate since I like my asparagus to snap when I bite into it. The scallops were a little hard to slice with a butter knife, but tasted very good especially sopped in the yellow pepper puree. Mmm... For dessert I had the Toasted Pound Cake. OMG so good! For every bite I took a little of everything. Sweet but not too sweet, The whipped creme had a sweet flavor to it, not bland like most, Vanilla ice cream, with two different berry puree's that were so yummy. Delicious! My daughter had the Meyer Lemon Sorbet, which she did not like. My husband and I tried it and the sorbet was very tart, maybe it's fresh made and peel got left in? I don't know, but I would definitely recommend the pound cake over the sorbet. For her small plate she had the Hanger Steak which was delicious and tender. The spinach was fresh and tasty in the steak rue. The onions were a little on the sweet side for me, but I loved the shoestring potato garnish on the top. Surprisingly tasty. My husband had the Smoked Salmon which was ok. He commented when we left that he thought they should have a smoked filet instead of thin slices. I'm not a huge fan of smoked salmon to begin with, and this appetizer did not turn me. It tasted a little fishy to me, but maybe that's what it's supposed to taste like? I don't know. The bill was a little pricy, but if you're out treating yourself it's worth it. ;) read more

Based on wine, atmosphere, and service. The white wine flight that I had was awesome because who doesn't like wine and 3 glasses of wine at that? Anyone? We did come here to eat though, with a larger party (5+), and with people with larger than normal appetites (big guys that like wine). One look at the menu and we realized we were not going to eat at this place. I think online it mentioned being a tapas bar. I remember seeing five items on the tapas menu and 3 entrees or something like that. Regardless of already knowing prior to arrival that we were going to a tapas place I expected there to be a somewhat large amount of choices like at other similar establishments. I would definitely come here with a smaller group or on a date. It would be perfect for that. Still trying to get back here to try the food. read more

Superior. The staff is friendly and attentive and the place is intimate. The menu varies and only 2 mini gripes is that they may run out of some menu items and that they could add a few higher end wines to the menu. But the menu items are always very good and just a little bit unusual, at times but, in a good way! And not too unusual that you don't want to try it at all. So kudos and keep up the good job! read more

Best in this area- by far. My wife and I love this place. Great apps and entrees. The Midnight Moon burger is simply the best of the thousands of burgers I've had in my life. The fries with the parmesan sprinkle must be tried. Good selection of craft beers and wine and the service is top-drawer. Desserts, when we're not too full, are also excellent. Being one of the few upscale dining places in Bourbonnais, I want this place to be great. I've been here twice now and each experience different, yet equally unsatisfying. While some items are great, some fail to reach their mark. The wine however, consistently great choices and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, which is what keeps me wanting to try again. We ordered the truffle fries and shrimp as appetizers. The fries were Perfectly cooked and tons of flavor! The shrimp were well cooked and the pepper jelly had a nice flavor but the ham served with it was a bit tough and didn't make a lot of sense to me. We ordered the special of the pig cheeks carbonara. The cheeks were very fatty and could have been crisped up a lot more. The pasta was cooked decently but I tired of the dish quickly. I must say that it is a step up from last year when the food was highly over salted. A bit disappointed but I would probably give them another shot. Could have just been what I ordered. read more

I had a great time here for date night. The bacon wrapped dates were a perfect appetizer. I got the Oriental chicken salad for my meal and it was also amazing.
