Recently stayed overnight while passing through PA. I would highly recommend staying here. Beautiful farm with some fascinating animals. We got a guided tour and were introduced to the farm animals with their names and some back stories on them. I fell in love with the two Great Pyrenees dogs and the 41 year old horse! Comfortable bed, also enjoyed farm-made ice cream on the porch in a rocking chair. In the morning, watched the cows and goats be milked took a nice walk through the path in the woods and revisited the animals before having an amazing breakfast of delicious bacon, eggs and potatoes, made special by Kathleen. Didn't leave empty handed either. Took home some great cheeses, that were also made on the farm. Would definitely stay again! read more

The B&B is a great experience if you want to feel like a farmer for a day, and show kids that milk and eggs don't come from a supermarket. Kathy was gracious about our arriving late (farmers wake up early!) due to traffic. My husband, two kids (7 and 11) and I slept in a cute room with a deck. We woke up to a rooster and were ready to begin our chores bright and early! Sam was kind and patient when showing us how to milk goats, and Mike let us help bottle feed a brand new baby calf. We even got to take the calf on a walk with a leash! What a wonderful experience for kids! My daughter got to help tend to chickens, and gather and clean eggs. The animals are very well cared for and friendly. The farmhouse is renovated for modern comfort but still has an old-time country feel--perfect combo. P.S. The bathroom has a jacuzzi! Kathy is a lovely host -- she kept us well fed. Breakfast each morning consisted of homemade muffins, scones, breads, yogurt, kefir, smoothies, butter, with farm fresh eggs. She made wonderful pancakes, bacon, and potatoes too. I got to take a cheesemaking class -- depending on how much time you have, Kathy offers shorter classes and longer classes. I couldn't get enough of the delicious raw milk and yogurt (we don't have access to this stuff in NYC). I raided the store before we left. I recommend the goat manchego! read more

This Farm is amazing. I came all the way from NYC trying to find some organic raw cows milk and thank god I found this place. The lady at the counter (who's name I didnt get) was soooo helpful and showed us all of the different things they offered. They had like 5 different types of cheddar cheeses. They also had regular plain yogurts and also what they call yogurt smoothies which have different flavors. What surprised me the most it that they had duck eggs! Where else can you find duck eggs? Anyways this place is a bit off the beaten path but 100% would make the trip to come back for more of the yogurt. read more

Best raw milk in the Lehigh Valley. A great informal atmosphere, this is a teaching farm, and it shows. One of these days I will get down for their fameous cheesmaking classes. Untill then, since I started getting milk from Kathy, I haven't gotten near the grocery store stuff. Just really superior. Alfredo sauce made with fresh warm goat milk is really incredible. Caveat Emptor!! Whoever said that Kathy is friendly is mistaken. Signed up for classes for our child. The classes sounded great so we spread word about them to a local group and got them a bunch of signups. Our first sign that Flint Hill is not about customer service is that all the other signups were given 50% off while we paid the full price and for all classes in advance despite giving Kathy free marketing and directly getting her signups. After each class, Kathy pushes everyone into the shop and attempts to guilt everyone with a hard sell for their dairy products. We came for the class and if we want to purchase something we will; being pushed and prodded to buy something after we've already shelled out for the class is anything but friendly. Our next problem occurred when our daughter got sick. We had to miss a session. Rather than refund the money for that session, Kathy was extremely rude and actually demanded that I give an example of another business in the area that would offer a refund before she would ever do the same. Her tone was extremely combative and she was exceedingly rude. We will not be doing any kind of business with them again, and I highly suggest to others to stay away. There are many other farms in the area that offer better food and better services. read more

I wish I could give it more starts, but.... I bought two half gallon containers of goat milk the other day. Opened both when I got home, and were sour. $16 down the drain. I also bought butter, which was awesome, kefir, also good and cow's milk, which was ok compared to Birchwood Farm's. So bummed out over that goat milk. One had an expiration date, the other container did not. Maybe they need a new fridge. read more

My daughter and I 'ran away from home' for 2 days of rest and relaxation at the Farm. Kathy was an excellent host and the accommodations were quite comfortable. As we expected on a working farm, this was not luxurious, but quiet and simplicity were what we were hunting . There are many animals to be fed, petted and wondered at. Breakfasts on a dairy farm are such a treat - we especially enjoyed the homemade yogurt and yogurt smoothies. We ate peaches from a tree we could see from our window. We came home with a collection of treats to keep farm memories going for a while. And we were relaxed and rested. read more

I sent my son to camp here last year and would caution others to stay away from this summer camp! I sent my 6-year-old to camp here last summer, and I want to caution others about doing so. First, I ordered the later pick-up (around noon), and when I went to pick my 6-year-old up, he was sitting there by himself in front of the "store" totally unattended. There was a caregiver/medical assistant nearby sitting in the doorway of the shed, blocking a young child with disabilities so that he couldn't get out. She was completely overwhelmed and couldn't handle the child and had no idea who was supposed to watch my child. I looked around for a good 5 minutes, didn't find anyone and left. Glad someone could have just grabbed my son and left! The owner was rude and somewhat scattered when I asked her about this and said she just had to run up to the house to grab something. On another pick-up, kids were playing horseshoes while the counselor sat there on his phone totally not engaged or paying attention...I saw a few near misses with horseshoes flying before kids got out of the way. I also ordered the snacks, which are quite expensive, but according to my son, he wasn't offered a snack. The owner said he was, but it sounded like it was up to my son to go get his snack in a place he didn't know then pick something out with no guidance...totally unrealistic to expect this of a six-year-old who has never been there before. It's really too bad about this place because it could be really good with engaged employees and programs, but as far as I could tell, they put your kid on a horse for a little bit but otherwise they kind of just wonder around. Completely overpriced - it is a sham. read more

I would highly recommend a stay at Flint Hill Farm. It is truly a working farm first and foremost, but also serves as an excellent B&B. My family (2 adults, 1 pre-teen, 1 teenager) spent 2 nights and occupied 2 rooms. Rooms in the original farmhouse are smaller than modern accommodations, so be prepared for that; but they are clean, comfortable and homely. You don't feel like spending much time in the rooms anyway, because there is so much to see and do on the farm - helping milk the cows and goats (what else could get my kids up and out by 6.30am?), feeding all the animals, collecting eggs, moving the chicken coops, turning the animals out of their stalls etc. The farm staff are friendly and helpful and once you have finished chores (if you chose to do them), you are free to roam about the farm and visit the animals you come to know by name. It's a fun and educational experience and one that the whole family will remember much more than a vacation at the beach or pool. read more
