My 94 year old mom had a short 2 week stay to basically recover from imbalance in potassium and…read moresodium levels that mimicked a stroke, but as soon as levels were balanced she was good. She didn't need much PT or OT and could get to restroom on own. So i cant speak to those needing more help than that. i do know that everyones experience in rehab is different depending on how serious their health issues are. Janae and Leontyne were tremendous in their care. Andrew who runs the bistro was fantastic! The food was so good. It was all made there Lots of choices were given and you could substitute for something differnt The facility is clean and beautifully designed. Our only complaint is that she had Room 602 which backed up to the game room. The noise was very distressful to my Mom. I was told the nurses moved the games to back up to another wall, but that didn't last long.

My 86 yo mother had a 2 week stay at WellBridge of Grand Blanc following hip replacement surgery…read more She also had a couple of other medical issues going on. I was not familiar with the facility, so I went to view it in person before allowing her to go there. I had seen the many poor reviews and spoke honestly about these with the Director and Director of Nursing. They informed me that the facility was under new management from the top down and would appreciate the opportunity to give us a great experience. I am an RN and planned to be very hands on with my mom's care, so since the facility was lovely and very clean with friendly staff everywhere, we made call to stay there. There were a few issues with one CNA that had to be addressed and a couple of not getting the meal she ordered, but everyone was very responsive and made things right. Mandy NP, Shanda the Director and Shawna the DON came through whenever I had questions or issues and my mom loved getting visits from the Chef! Never underestimate the meal choices, quality of food and desserts to boost a patient's morale and give them something to look forward to when working hard to recover. Just don't think you can put someone in a care facility and not be involved, not be there and not show them the love and care they showed you from birth. They deserve that. I would use WellBridge again, for sure. My mom is doing great!!

This place is a joke, I thought the State Inspected places like this, the inside of the building is…read moreoutdated and smells of sewage, the hallways are damaged and it looks like children painted the walls, the workers walk around complaining about the lack of maintenance, guest rooms are without heat, beds that dont work properly, television service is ridiculous,it took a nurse 35 minutes to find batteries for a remote control for a t.v. that didnt even work. the Nurse's are to busy to answer simple questions and stand in the halls complaining about the administrator, and her hiring her friends to do management jobs, I visited there the friday after thanksgiving to see a family friend, He begged me to get him out of there,. A year ago he was happy , And I spend a fantastic day with him, the head of Maintenance even sat and asked if there were any concerns and offered us candy bars, where did that guy go ? I dont know what changed, but he also told me he doesnt get to do activities as much because noone gets him into his wheelchair. When I questioned this the Nurse told me the Activities Director was lazy and walked away from me. I seen no supporting staff, the janitors were sitting in the t.v. room the entire 2 hours I was there, the nurse's aids or cna's or whoever they are took 20 minutes to answer the nurse's call button and advised me not to use it so much after my first attempt. I wouldnt put a homeless dog here for the weekend, I spoke with my friends family and they are making plans to get him out of there. Im unsure of what changed over the last year, but that medilodge has gone to hell. Never have I seen a bigger group of unhappy, un motivated group of complaining workers.

HORRIFIC. Being a medical provider myself I have worked in nursing homes and have not been in such…read morea run down place that is so inadequate! From the beginning the experience was bad. I didn't even know it was legal to not have bed rails on the beds for a completely dependent trach patient... scary is an understatement.. Vent would go off and we would have to go hunt down staff to alert them to get a hold of respiratory to come and check it out. Should never be how a facility is run. We don't have the full story on what happened yet and I would LOVE to get my hands on that chart. My best guess is complete negligence and that she was checked on right before or during shift change and then noticed she was pulseless.... Because if they actually took vital signs when they are supposed too, this would not have happened!!! Residents deserve better and a full on investigation needs to happen with how bad it was.. breaks my heart for family who is forced to go their through insurance like we were... No one should stay here and if you have no choice make sure you have visitors there all day!!

I LOVE IT HERE! tHE NURSES , NURSES AIDS ARE VERY SKILLED AND CARING. The activies folks are silled and very creative. I was a loner before I moved here but now I participating in activies all the time. I would love to see these fdollks get more money for what they do. I have observed other residents come to life in activites! I have observed nurses aids comfort folks with dementia. The housekeeping folka, therapists, and dinig room staff make this a warm, friendly and wonderful place to live.

My grandma was in the hospital after a fall that left her with cracks in two vertebrae. After five…read moredays they moved her to Wellbridge in Fenton for rehab expecting a full recovery. She was expected to do physical and occupational therapy each day, eat 3 great meals and participate in all the fun activities planned each day. Her back was in lot of pain but she was feeling positive as she did therapy and enjoyed the amenities of Wellbridge. Each day my grandma seemed to decline. She ate less and wasn't interested in the activities. They diagnosed her with a UTI and started antibiotics. I asked the nurses if something was wrong and if she should go to the hospital. Wellbridge continued to say she was fine and not doing that bad and "if a hospital was needed we'd send her there but I think she's getting better and will improve everyday". I asked repeatedly for the doctor who I never saw (there is one doctor for the entire large facility and he is usually only available by text to the nurses). I continued asking if she could be moved to a hospital because I felt she needed real medical care. The rehab people continued saying that everyday as she worsened ("we think she's getting better, no hospital is necessary") all the way up to two days before she died. The nurse told me that day "I expect she'll recover from these problems". I was extremely worried and did not trust the nurses, rehab workers or the doctor I never saw. She developed pneumonia in both lungs, developed edema and bed sores. Still the nurses and absent doctor insisted she stay there. So we trusted them and left her there. In her last day, the doctor meets with us to discuss hospice (two hours before she died), and talks about how she's been so sick for so long and it was just her time. Um, she wasn't sick two weeks earlier and maybe if she had received real medical care then she'd be here now. They didn't take her seriously as a real person or her health and allowed her to continue to decline until it was too late. They should have seen she was declining and alerted us, allowing us to try to get her help. They are a rehab facility and not a hospital. It is possible with expert hospital acre she could have recovered and at least be with us still now. The rehab personnel continued to come to her room to see if she up for a physical therapy session even on her last days when was half dead!! There is no communication between the absent doctor, nurses, rehab workers, aids to each other or the families of patients. I believe if you are strictly taking your loved one to Wellbridge for physical therapy and they remain in good health it would be a a very nice facility to be at. Also if it's an end of life situation and only hospice is needed it would be a good place to be. BUT if you're family member needs any kind of medical care, and declines during rehab BEWARE! Take them out immediately and get them to a quality hospital. Wellbridge will keep your family member hostage, provide minimal medical care, communicate with personnel and family very poorly or not at all, which can lead to the decline and then death of your loved one. I warn you, stay away from Wellbridge and keep your family safe. The facility, grounds and food are very nice, but the care is very poor and you will be left regretting your decision to go to Wellbridge after your loved one dies there. Like a guy I met in the hallway said to me the day my grandma stopped breathing in her room, "They say at this place you come in the front door alive and leave out the back door on a stretcher." My grandma came in ready to do rehab and left on a velvet covered gurney one and half weeks later. Shame on you Wellbridge for letting patients die. These are real people as important as you are but you treat your patients like objects coming through a revolving door. They come in alive and leave dead. I will always tell everyone I know what you did and about the poor care my grandma received while with you. I hope you go out of business and stop this tragedy from happening to other families.
