Updating my review from 5 stars to ALL THE STARS! I've been to so many shows here now and I truly…read morelove coming to Walter Where?House. The valley is very fortunate to have such a legit place for the EDM scene to thrive. It is, hands down, my favorite place in the valley to dance. All the elements are locked in here. Why, because the Walter group knows what's up. This Burning Man camp turned local Phx business, or other way around, I'm not sure, but nonetheless, does things right. The space itself is well organized-- the art gallery is when you first walk in, art cars & other art installations or artwork are spread throughout the warehouse. There are areas for hanging out and seating spread around and I've experienced many excellent viewpoints of the stage. The sound system is so nice with bumping bass for the amazing DJs that come through, and the lasers & lights make me happy. They have reasonable priced bar & food options, and they provide igloo coolers of cold water for free, available off the side of the bar. Which doesn't seem like a big deal but making sure people are drinking water is important when dancing all night. The venue cares about people who come there. There's a patio out back when you need to take a breather. Plenty of restrooms and they usually have AC & fans blasting when it's busy and/ or hot in there. It's a safe place to dance with respectful people who come here-- there to enjoy the art & vibes, have a great time dancing or enjoying the flow arts with fantastic DJs. I always meet cool people when I come here and I appreciate the staff

I came on a Wednesday night to see mindchatter and it was a really fun show with great sound and lasers. The dance floor is large and there's plenty of room to move around. Service was quick for getting drinks and they have food too, though I didn't get any this visit. I can't wait to come back here for more shows! They are closed during the summers though.

The garden is well maintained and organized, quiet place for give yourself quiet time and meditation. The garden is not that big place to walk around, but it's definitely worth it if you feel like need to escape and looking for nature therapy--this is the one! Give yourself more time to sit back and enjoy the greenery. The staff is super friendly and welcoming! I will definitely come back again soon.

But personally, I just don't see it being worth the price of $14 a person. One of the biggest things for me was that the actual area itself felt a lot smaller than I expected. On top of that, there were SO many people packed in that it was hard to even stop for a second and actually enjoy the ambiance without constantly being surrounded by crowds or trying to move around people. It kind of took away from the experience because instead of feeling immersive or relaxing, it mostly just felt overcrowded. What also made it hard for me to justify the price is that you can literally see the entire thing through the fence from the park next to it. Honestly, if I ever wanted to see it again, I'd probably just go sit at the park, save my money, and actually have more room to enjoy the view comfortably without feeling packed in shoulder to shoulder with everyone else. Overall, it's definitely very pretty and visually impressive, but for me personally, the experience didn't match the cost enough to make me want to return.

It was fun, with costumes and accessories to set the mood before you get into the room. The whole place had a coherent vibe from the second you walk in the door, and they do a good job of tuning you to their frequency. The theme is a sort of technological dystopia, cyber-punk with a touch of steampunk nostalgia. The room itself had a dynamic level of difficulty. I enjoyed the story, which followed us throughout and made sense with the aesthetic. The hints are just right to keep play active but engaging. The puzzle involves some moving around, but nothing physical enough to alienate people. (I had a knee injury acting up and I could do everything just fine.) Staff was helpful, and shared cool facts about their process and vision. We can't wait to go back when they open another room!

They provide very high quality services and products at reasonable prices. I love how everything is seasonal so transplants or seeds you buy will usually take off well. The service is unmatched compared to other gardening places I've been to. Employees that I've talked to have all been very knowledgeable and helpful. The overall vibe is that people there want a greener Phoenix and genuinely want you to succeed in all your gardening endeavors. I recall nearly buying a chilipin pepper and Daniel showing me where it lands on the scoville heat scale to make sure I knew what I was getting into. I remember Zach seeing I had all 4 of my little kids with me in line and him helping me check out quickly- even throwing in a free transplant to my purchase! The classes are a great deal for all the hands-on experience you get, not to mention the hand-outs, thorough class notes and you can bring a friend along with you at no additional cost! They even have a playground for kiddos of the customer and free self-guided tours. If you are an AZ gardener (or want to be) the AZWF is a MUST visit location!

I have lived in Arizona, specifically the Phoenix area, for most of my life and have driven by Tovrea Castle thousands of times. It was so cool to be able to walk the grounds and get a peek inside. I would highly suggest entering the lottery, it's free and some people have better luck than I did and can get in sooner than 5 years. This was an insightful tour mixed with great storytelling and history. The basement with all the artifacts of the family and learning more about the area makes me proud to be a part of Arizona! Worth the visit!

If you live in the Valley it's highly likely that you have driven by this place. From the 202 fwy…read moreyou can easily see it. I often wondered what is that building? Finally after passing it so many times I was curious enough to look it up. I googled "cake shaped building PHX" and it was the first result. "Tovrea (said tov-ree) Castle aka A jewel in the Sonoran desert" Since 2010 the City of Phoenix purchased, renovated, and opened it for tours. The very abbreviated story with this place is that some homesteaders from the early 1900s owned the land, sold 277 acres to a wealthy Italian man. Alessio Carraro had built a fortune in the sheet metal business in the 1920s from San Fran. He planned to build a hotel resort surrounded by a housing subdivision on 277 acres, Carraro Heights. The castle was built near the timing of when the Great Depression set in. Carraro wanted out, he sold the castle and some amount of acreage (for a fraction of his investment) to Della Tovrea, wife of cattle baron E.A. Tovrea. She lived there until her tragic death in 1969. Nearby is the Stockyard Restaurant, built by E.A.'s son so cattlemen had somewhere to eat near the stockyards. That restaurant still exists today. I plan to check it out. If you want more details and full story, go take the tour :) however tickets are not easy to come by. Tours sell out many months in advance and they started using a lottery system. I bought my tickets months ago. However worth a try to go. I wouldn't say its the most amazing thing I've ever seen and the use of the word "castle" is a stretch. I've been inside some real castles in US and Europe, however it's interesting and a fun thing to do and it satisfied my curiosity! :) Per their website- The Ticket Lottery for Fall 2022 Tickets has ended and all tickets have been distributed - look for last minute cancellation tickets. Ticket Lottery for Spring 2023 Regular Tours closed on October 15, 2022 and Winners will be notified via email starting November 1, 2022. https://tovreacastletours.com
