Great Stylist AND knows her color! Michelle has been cutting my hair for several years and she is one of the best stylists I have ever had--she is a total pro with the scissors. I have rarely done salon color though, but I'm growing my hair out and my gray is really starting to be hard to color well myself, so I had Michelle do an overall color and highlights. I can't tell you how above and beyond she went for me and what a fabulous result I got. The initial color we chose did not take very well with my hair and was not as red as I had envisioned, so she took the extra time to do an additional semi-permanent tint over the first color--then she ingeniously used streaks of gray I have in my bangs area and mixed it with blond highlights to give a really natural but still dramatic look--and by using my own gray, it will not show a line now as the color grows out. The highlights and color combo is exactly what I had envisioned and looks fantastic! She was amazingly patient and helpful throughout the process and she didn't even charge me for the extra tinting. Cut or color--give Michelle a try--you'll be happy you did! read more

I've been going to Michelle for four years now. At my first appointment, my hair was waist-length and had been for fifteen years. I was ready to cut it short and terrified about trusting someone to change my style to something both beautiful and manageable. Michelle not only gave me the style I wanted, she also helped me pick the right color. She is very consistent in her color and cuts. I always leave the salon feeling well cared for. My hair always looks gorgeous. There are many salons to choose from in downtown Santa Rosa but why would anyone go anywhere else? The view from Etrusca is serene and relaxing. The prices are competitive and the customer service is top-notch. Michelle is very friendly and fun to talk to. A day at her salon is a special treat. After receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer my hair did not grow back like it was before. The only answer for me would be a wig or hair extensions. After calling just about every salon in Santa Rosa I finally spoke to someone, Michelle Flippen, who took the time to listen, discuss my hair and my situation and to come up with the best plan for me. Michelle has been putting my extensions in for over a year now and they look beautiful. No one would ever know this is not my natural hair. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have pretty curly hair but I can usually give myself a blowout in about 15 minutes and get my hair pretty straight and frizz free. Most salons do a WAAAY better job than me, giving me perfect salon waves with a round brush in about the same amount of time. Unfortunately, my stylist at Coco & Rose had a hard time getting any frizz out let alone straightening my hair or creating any style. After a significant amount of time my hair was still completely frizzy and without any style so she ended up just using a curling iron to try and add some style. I was ultimately really disappointed - I had to go home and straighten out the prom curls and defrizz. My stylist mentioned that she had gotten a new blow dryer which doesn't get hot enough so perhaps she has corrected that problem since then. The team was really friendly and perhaps worth giving a shot to see if they have gotten better equipment. Unfortunately, I wont be back.
