Breakfast was very good. Arrived around 8:30am and got seated right away. By 9:00am there was a crowd waiting for seats. Food was very good. I had the CFS Platter (chicken fried steak). The serving size was large. It came with 2 large, very fluffy pancakes. They were very good, and were big enough to be a meal by themselves. Needless to say I brought home quite a bit of the CFS platter. Service and food was very good. They serve very large portions, so be prepared for prices higher than the norm because of that. I guess considering I got two breakfasts from this, the price per breakfast wasn't bad. read more

I was visiting town last week to meet with clients and suggested this as a place to meet. I had multiple breakfasts set up and some where even double breakfasts back to back and all scheduled here. I rescheduled every one of them after my first experience here. I pack my week to make it as efficient as possible when i'm down here. The food is good and what you'd expect from a dinner. Our server was amazing and she's a huge asset to this place. This place did get full and there were a few big groups that came in and were taking up multiple tables that were pushed together but no one was every waiting a very long time. I noticed my client kept glancing behind me and found out later why. We had been done eating, been given our check and were still drinking coffee when an older man (he was no gentleman) walked up in what seemed to be disheveled and dirty clothing say, "so, are you going to be leaving soon so I can use this table?" There is no polite way for that to come across. He was rude and with no ability to show appreciation customers, he is the absolute worst front of house staff you could have. We just respond that we would be done soon. Mind you, not a single person was waiting to be seated and this man interrupted us at the table. When we talked out, my client mentioned he had been sitting behind me glaring over at us multiple times and walking by doing the same thing. read more

We have been going here once every 10 days to 2 weeks for breakfast. Food is always great, but today we had terrible service. Three tables of people came in, got seated, and ordered after us. They all had their food before we did and one couple had eaten and was leaving before we got our food. Our waitress didn't deliver our food, she was too busy chatting with another table of customers. She didn't check on us until we were almost finished. We have NEVER had such poor service at Flips!!! read more

Our first time visit today and it was great. The food was excellent as was the service. Two of us ordered hash browns and they were cooked perfectly with no grease at all. The pancakes are the best I've had in years. It can get a bit noisy due to the acoustics but this is not a good reason to stay away from this great small restaurant. read more

We love this place! Omelets, crepes are very plentiful and delicious! The crepes were more like a thin omelette/pancake, sweet. Had them with feta, spinach and tomatoes - would have liked more veggies but still very tasty! Husband had big veggie omelette with added cheese - very happy. Place is packed after being open only a week. Trying Greek salads today. Got a small bowl of cabbage and orzo soup gratis, a little spicy, just delicious! Servers all very nice. Went there a few weeks ago, good Midwestern diner! Service was amazing! You could tell the waitress enjoyed her job and talking with the customers. Took my family here this morning and pretty disappointed overall. Granted they are very busy on a Sunday morning, they missed on several shots. Pluses: biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak and pancakes. Negatives: " omelette " was essentially scrambled eggs with some shredded meat and vegetables, not even diced and little cheese, hash browns not Brown AND $5 for a Mickey Mouse pancake which was smaller than the $3 regular but did have ears and 3 slivers off strawberry dumped on top. Servers work hard and tipped appropriately, but quality control problem at busy times. read more

Today I went for breakfast and was "asked" not greeted by the owner how many in the party..(told me just then he was there for the money and not to please the guest). I said one and he said go to the counter. I said I prefer a booth. I got attitude and a nasty look. Mind you there was NO ONE else waiting for a booth. In fact nobody behind me. He finally got me a booth and walked by and said your LUCKY to get a booth. which of course I probably took as an insult because of the way he treated me in the first place. I had been sitting for about 5 minutes, when he passed me again and said "WHAT"!!! At that point I said "May I have some coffee please?" He came back with ...HEY you just sat down!!! What he doesn't know about me was that my husband passed away 2 weeks prior, and the last place we ate was there at Flip's, and when I was looking around after being seated I was just taking things in remembering our last breakfast together. Today was his birthday and I just wanted to be a little closer to him. By the way, this owner sat at the end of the counter and just stared at me the whole time I was eating. What is it with people ...especially an owner that can't respect and treat their guests with dignity? I will say the breakfasts have always been good here, and the waitresses are always exceptional, very cordial and helpful. But the way I was treated today... hmmmm not to sure I will ever be back there. To many other good restaurants to eat at. I will go somewhere that I am treated a whole lot better and not judge me for being alone. I guess the moral of this story is: Always treat people well, whether they are by themselves or with a group of 10. You never know what the story is behind them. The owner was just plain RUDE. We ordered for four off the menu for pickup. When I went in to pay it was about 20+ dollars more. I asked if this was correct and she told me the online menu was four years old and they have a new menu with different prices. She just looked at me and walked away. Great service...ha. This is my new favorite place for breakfast. I have had a different meal each time and each one was good. Love the waffles. Biscuits and gravy is great too. Eggs cooked perfectly as requested. They offer a nice lunch menu but love breakfast too much to try it. Always had quick service. You can tell the clientele are repeat customers looking for another good meal. Saw a review about the credit card system and agree it's awkward to be asked at the register if you want to add a tip and then how much to add. I've just started leaving money on the table but would suggest they update that system to allow a customer to write a tip on the receipt. Otherwise so far it's all been a good experience. Walked in and the place smelled like it has water in the basement-Musty and old covered up with paint and carpet. Lady who took care of us was sick and kept coughing all over. She rang us up, handed her my card and she coughed all over her hand then grabbed my card. Breakfast was mediocre. Coffee was burnt. Do not reccomend. I gave it a shot and regretted it. $1.99 for burnt coffee and and $2.99 to add bacon!!! What a joke. Never going back. Wish I could protest the charges. read more

I ordered my eggs poached and they were done perfectly. Waitress was very friendly. I called earlier that morning and asked if they were open because I was informed that they were closed and had a for sale sign in front of the building. The person who answered the phone was very polite. I received a phone call back within a few seconds from the owner who was very rude!!! He informed me that the person who informed me should read the sign in front because it reads for lease not sale and it was the building next to them. This place is disgusting. I ordered the eggs Benedict and spent the extra 50¢/$1 for the cheese and onions. The Hollandaise sauce was broken and cold. The onions were completely raw yellow onion with a Kraft single melted over the top. What kind of restaurant uses Kraft singles in their recipes? Gross!! read more
