Jimmy's Pancake House does everything right! This will be long because there is a lot to cover. Got on the waitlist through Yelp on the way. They were busy, but I appreciate that they did not seat people because their kitchen was backed up, not because there were no tables open. When there were more people than seats for waiting, they offered to text guests so they could wait in their car. We were seated in a booth. I ordered the two eggs, hash browns, and ham. You could also choose toast or a pancake. I asked to upgrade to the current special, carrot cake pancakes. My husband got the steak and eggs breakfast. All of our food was very good. The pancakes were delicious. Took most of our pancakes to go since it was too much food. The other component of a phenomenal establishment is service. Service was excellent. We were impressed as we watched every server help other servers with tables that were not theirs. Other servers would walk by and refill our drinks when they noticed. A larger table left a very messy table and floor. The busser started cleaning and two servers went over and assisted. They communicated well with guests and other staff. When I asked for the hash browns crispy, the server explained that she would request it, but because they make a large amount at once they may not be very crispy. I appreciated that. I would've really appreciated it as I ordered, but I understand a busy kitchen. When servers did something for another table, they let that table's server know. For instance, one server said, "Whoever has table 3, I gave them boxes." This let's the server for that table know what was done and that the table was probably close to leaving. We were impressed by the efficiency, friendliness, and competency of all staff. I commend the owners/management/staff. There are many places that could learn from you. read more

I got the Jimmy grand slam ( eggs,hashbrowns,bacon,sausage, and toast) bacon, sausage, and ham good The hash browns were burnt and my egg (over medium) were over done I tolerated this UNTIL I found a hair in the damn food nope nope ‍ . Waitress was nice and took the eggs and hash browns off our bill but when she informed the cook of the situation (who btw had no hairnet on just a hat on backwards) he said " so what you think your going to make me where a hairnet now i don't think so" Never again we usually rip the Waitress and the cooks but only the Waitress did her job and unfortunately this has made it to where we WILL NOT be returning read more

We were initially quoted online at a 20 minute wait, ended up waiting over an hour. Hostess was very nice but not very forthcoming on the time estimate, rather told us that the kitchen is backed up and that they were simply waiting for one of the tables to get up. Not the hostess' fault, rather the establishment needs more seating for bigger parties and a way better quoting system. Sat down in a very nice spot, wait for food was also a big longer but it was very busy, so it was no problem. The waitress was good, not particularly kind but she got the job done with efficiency. Jimmy's Pancake House is a staple to Bettendorf. It's the cozy, homey diner type stop where you will find the true locals. I came with a friend to catch up while I was back in town. I was excited to find white chocolate raspberry pancakes on the menu. I'd never seen this flavor for pancakes and it was not a mistake. The raspberry syrup makes for a strong raspberry flavor and the white chips add a perfect extra sweetness to pair with the tart raspberry. The lady on the phone was very nice when we finally arrived at the restaurant we went inside and it was beautiful interior decorating. We got our order everything was in the bag. When traveling alone, I review restaurants on their service before food... but this restaurant gets 5 stars for both!! The pancakes ARE huge and delicious and the eggs perfectly cooked. I like the fact that you could get one pancake and one piece of toast for those of us that like one of each. The star of the restaurant is the wait stand. There are a lot of seniors there and the wait staff takes care of them like they were their own family. So appreciated! I feel terrible that I am not 100% , but I think my server was Serena and she was outstanding--Warm kind and very prompt !My coffee cup was never empty.
