Either a four or five star. Honestly, it's tough for me. Service is really great, everyone there is really nice. I liked their apple cinnamon tea. Their espresso is okay, I don't know if it's just my preferences but it tasted a little over roasted to me but I still enjoyed it. My big draw here though is I love the ambience and location. I really like being able to sit at the big Windows looking out at the Mississippi River. I like their location because as a study break or if you want to get out after the Riverwalk is right outside so it's easy to hop on that for a run or walk directly afterward(you also are within 2 to 3 miles of the bridge connecting Moline and bettendorf as well as the bridge to Sylvan Island which are fun places to get out to. read more

So when I visited the quad cities, this was definitely a place the locals recommended. It's right by the water, and not far from the university. I ordered a brown sugar oatmeal yummy, and a caramel & something else I can't remember but it was a delicious cold latte. my guest got a breakfast burrito that it definitely is worth the hype, & a matcha green latte. The cashier definitely made recommendations which is my fav. I definitely like to try what people like, well of course it has to be dairy free. The service was excellent & it was super early in the morning so it wasn't crowded. The ambiance is spacious and you definitely can come in with a big crowd. I can't wait to go back. read more

Review Visit: June 1st, 2017 What to do on a 'staycation'? Go get coffee, of course! I have a good chunk of vacation time at work and took a week off for a 'staycation'. Usually I have a ton of travel plans set up for such a situation, not this time... but my ever-restlessness led me to hop in my car and end up at Milltown Coffee. What a great choice it was! This was my only stop up in Moline and it caffeinated me up, filled my belly and calmed my sweet tooth. With it being a cool summer so far, I decided to try their house blend of coffee. Black, with a little bit of half-n-half. It was fantastic. Not too bitter, not too burnt, just a little bit of flavor. Just right, in my book. For a strange twist from my usual coffee stops... I actually ordered food here. Normally I like to eat at a local place to get my burger/pizza fix, but when I saw the Peanut Butter, Bacon, Banana sandwich on the menu... I knew I had to try it. I love bacon. I love peanut butter. I love bananas. Put it all on a sandwich and you have... something good. It was really good, if not strange. The quality of the sandwich and ingredients were superb. My only small issue was that the banana slices were a bit too sweet, which overpowered everything else on the sandwich. But that aside, it was super good. To round out the coffee and sandwich, I went full glutton and got a giant chocolate chip cookie. Amazing, it was! . It was warmed up before it was brought out, which makes it taste like it came straight from the oven. Again, the quality of ingredients seems top-notch! But how was the service? Friendly! The cashier that took my order was super sweet and friendly. The people who brought out my sandwich and cookie (they came out at different times) were super awesome. Great customer service really does make an experience that much better. Coffee, amazing. Sandwich, very good. Cookie, amazing. Service, stellar. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to place to get coffee and a unique sandwich. Sadly, I live about 90 minutes away. Which isn't too far to get some great goodies. I mean, I've drove 4 hours once to try Zombie Burger. read more

Milltown was a great location to sit down with a friend and get some work done for a couple hours! We came in midday on a Saturday and the shop was busy, but not overwhelmingly so. There is quite a bit of seating inside, and the shop is peaceful and quiet enough to get a lot of work accomplished. I loved the beautiful views of the river out the large windows. While there, I ordered the cold brew and the breakfast wrap. The breakfast wrap has one of my favorite combinations, black beans with eggs - and really had a lot of flavor! The tortilla is crispy and it's all served warm. The side of pico left a little to be desired as it wasn't super flavorful (maybe switch to a nice fresh salsa?), but it was still a nice pairing with the wrap. My cold brew was good, but I regret not trying one of the specialty drinks! They had a number of flavors that all sounded delicious. I'll just have to come back for another coffee next time I'm in the QC :) read more

Stopped in to while on the road and what a nice treat. I was a long way from home but you know it's always nice to try new places and MC did not disappoint. I had a mango smoothie and a banana muffin and they were delicious. Nice big sitting area with a view of the river And the prices are very reasonable. My husband and I were walking along the River and came upon Milltown. It has been years since we were in the Ben Butterworth park area and saw the coffee shop and had to stop. The interior is so cozy and felt so relaxing. I ordered the season Campfire latte and my husband order the pumpkin latte. The Campfire was one is the best coffees I have ever had - so good! The pumpkin latte was incredible as well - so nice and creamy and didn't hit you in n the face like some other coffee shops. I enjoyed my coffee so much I also left with a bag of their beans to take home. I cannot recommend Milltown Coffee enough - what a treat to stumble upon. read more

Lovely coffee place to stop by with nice views. The interior design is very modern and cozy too. However, the service was way too slow. It took them almost 15 minutes to make a coffee. Even my breakfast bowl (although served on a plate) arrived before the coffee. I would go back again, hoping that the coffee would be prepared much faster next time. read more

Admittedly, we are Starbucks latte lovers. But we do drink at local places when traveling. Usually love lattes no matter where we get them. Not sure why but neither of us cared for the lattes here. Has to be the roast of the beans as we didn't order anything special as to the type of milk or added flavoring. It just tasted "weird" to both of us. We didn't return. read more

Milltown is the perfect QC coffee shop to grab a table and grind out some work or catch up with a friend. This location is spacious and bright with the large front window looking onto the Mississippi River. Besides the atmosphere, Milltown offers some excellent coffee and food items. I hadn't been for a few years but stopped in this weekend with a friend and my memory did not disappoint. I tried the bananas foster latte and HOLY COW, I did not expect to love that flavor combo with my latte as much as I did. The banana flavor really comes through along with some notes of caramel nuttiness. I also tried the breakfast bowl, the portion was huge and I enjoyed the sweet potato + sausage + sriracha flavor combo. However, I wish the large portion came with more avocado and the texture was pretty saucy for my taste. I would try something else next time, but it still hit the spot and was so large I wasn't able to finish it. I appreciated that the staff brings the items to your table if you are sticking around as well. I finally grabbed a peach chai for the road after hanging out for a few hours, it was good but I had hoped for more of the spicy chai to come through, it was very strong on the peach flavor and sweetness. Overall a great spot for a sit down coffee shop experience in the QC. read more

I popped in here with a coworker on our way home. I needed some coffee to drink and I was out of whole beans at home. The inside is large with lots of seating. We only had time for coffee so I didn't get any food. The coffee was good. I really enjoyed the Indonesian coffee. It had more flavor than the El Salvador coffee. I can't wait to get back to East Moline so I can get more of their coffee. The staff that helped us out was very friendly, and the restroom was also very clean. Very casual place across the street from the river. I imagine they get very busy when the weather is good. read more

The friendly barista delivered a high-quality coffee with flavor featuring a well-balanced acidity, bitterness, sweetness that made my taste buds tingle! Visiting Moline from Washington state, I crossed my fingers and hoped to get coffee that would suffice- Milltown exceeded my expectations by-far. Highly recommended for the coffee, food and ambiance. Last Friday, I was invited out for coffee. I had never heard of this coffee shop (but I'm also not a coffee drinker so I really keep up with all of the coffee spots around the QC). The atmosphere was really nice and had a view of the river right across the street, which couldn't have been more perfect. They had a nice selection of breakfast items and drinks, including tea. I had the Milltown Breakfast Bowl and Chai Miell. The food was pretty good and had a nice bit of heat to it. The latte was also good. I would visit again! read more

The setting can't be beat. The decor is amazing. Service was friendly but barista didn't know what a cortado or other things we asked for were. Seemed to not know much about coffee. Which was sad. And even worse was that the coffee was very bitter. Perhaps it was just the barista on the day but it had so much potential, a pity the coffee was bad. I would have given it over 4 stars because of the location and the fact that you can walk along the Mississippi while sipping a takeaway. But wow, they needed to sort out the coffee. read more

If I could walk back to get a repeat order of that insanely damn good Cajun sausage wrap and an iced bananas fosters latte, I'm pretty sure I would give Forrest Gump a run for him money (no pun/pun intended lol)! The wrap is stuffed with eggs, Cajun sausage and cheese! The sausage is definitely Cajun-y in flavor and they put a good amount of cheese in it for my liking! We had an 8AM training session and thought we'd grab coffee and a breakfast sandwich on the way in to work. We had 20 minutes or so to get this done... plenty of time, right? Wrong. There were less than 5 people in the place. We ordered right away.... and then nothing. We stood waiting for a solid 15 minutes. Nobody was in front of house. Food was brought out in plastic bags and set out behind the counter. The guy that brought it said nothing and disappeared into the back. After a few minutes, we stretched over the counter to see if it was our order. It was. We left with it. Nobody anywhere in sight. The only saving grace was that the coffee was fantastic. I can not say enough good things about Milltown Coffee. Last Sunday I was in the last leg of my four day drive from Portland to Detroit and was desperate for some good coffee and breakfast. A passerby rec from someone in Pdx sent me their way. The gals at the counter were so nice and both were genuinely curious about my journey and didn't laugh in my face when I asked them if I was in Iowa or Illinois. Full disclosure I'd hit over 30 hours of drive time and all the states looked the same. The coffee was great (wish I would've bought a bag) and the breakfast sandwich hit the spot. I was able to eat it while driving without making a mess. My only criticism would be the sandwich packaging. Just wrap it in foil. Nobody needs that huge box. If I'm driving back that way I'll definitely make it stop. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in the Quad Cities. I frequent quite a bit - several times a month. It's consistently good. My typical order is a latte, but I've also had cappuccinos, miels, & various teas. My husband always orders a pour over, but they also have drip coffee if you're in a hurry. I haven't ordered food here too often, but I've had a few muffins & their breakfast sandwich, all of which have been good - nothing mind-blowing but tasty, nevertheless. Overall, a nice spot for a good quality cup of coffee. I recommend grabbing a seat and staying awhile, because it's a beautiful space with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the Mississippi River. Quite relaxing! read more

Stopped into Milltown Coffee twice on our recent weekend trip to the Quad Cities and I'm a fan! On the first stop in, we ordered coffee and breakfast and enjoyed it in the big, bright, open space that Milltown is located in and on the second trip, we got drinks and food to go before hitting the road back to Denver. Both experiences were great. Though the breakfast sandwich and iced latte were good, the veggie breakfast wrap and iced lavender honey latte I got the second time around were better. The latte was SO delicious! I love when you can order craft coffee drinks and well-made food at the same place, so this place was perfect for me. Also, I don't know how they do it but they seem to have a really good system for telling which customer ordered what. Really happy to have found this place! read more
