So glad to have found Bree Hill at Flipside Salon when we moved to Redding. She's excellent at haircuts for men and always upbeat. One of the things I really appreciate is that she washes your hair after the cut so you don't have annoying hair bits everywhere. You also get a brief shoulder massage at the end so you look sharp and feel better. $35 a cut. Having grown quite comfortable locating services via Yelp, this is where I started when seeking a local stylist. After looking at the ratings I settled on Flipside because of the stellar ratings and very prompt contact when I sought an appointment with Shiree. Within one hour I had a next day appointment. On. A. FRIDAY. I was promptly and warmly greeted by Shiree and we discussed the options. I have very long hair (40+ inches) and was ready for a pretty major chop and layers. She shampooed and conditioned my hair, which felt GLORIOUS. Then she did my haircut, blow dry and styling. Shiree couldn't have been kinder, and did an absolutely stellar job, carefully listening and then seeing it through to a gorgeous result. My salon service cost $50 + $20 tip for a $70 total which was fair considering she had to cut 12 inches from the bottom and add layers front and back. A very fair price. I cannot recommend Shiree enough. She was fabulous. And so very kind. read more

I can't say enough about this salon (can a man go to a "salon"? Yes, he can.) After reading a couple of Yelp reviews, I requested an appt and they responded to me within 5 minutes. Very professional and cordial. "Bree" cut my hair. She knows her stuff! She listened to what I wanted, and offered to cut conservatively and wait to see if I wanted to go shorter (which I did). Also--and here's what impressed me: scissors! Not just an electric buzz with a numbered guard. Actual shears. Great cut, walked out very satisfied. I'll be going back. I don't know what they charge for women's cuts, but the woman clients who were there this afternoon were clearly regulars and enthusiastically satisfied. My cut was $25. This is no barbershop slash & dash cut. I'm a thrifty man, and this is good value. The quality is excellent. read more

Darcy was quick to respond and able to get me an appointment that worked with my schedule. She did a great job with my haircut and was very pleasant to work with.
