I'm into Dive Bars and this is a good one. Been there twice in the last couple of months and love it. Karaoke on Friday's that starts at 9pm and is fun. The energy is great. Kate & Jackson are great and they make sure everyone has a good time. Kate is also a bartender at Dempsey's, which is where I first met her. It's a "cash only' bar so be prepared. They have an ATM if you forget. Drinks are good. No food except chips and snacks. There's a pool table, arcade basketball and a tucked away little library in case you want to "read & sip". Plenty of parking in their private lot. Met the owner on my first visit and she's great. Give it a try if you like Dive Bars. Maybe I'll see you one day. read more

There is nothing like a gooooood dive bar. And by far...this is it! Have driven by this sweet venue for years now and I finally walked in. It's organized, clean, nicely decorated, and bright inside! It was a Thursday evening with loud music, socializing patrons and a friendly smile on the other side of the bar. Turns out it was karaoke kinda night with a cool cat as the DJ. Hours of happy patrons, 80's/90's music and talented singers! The drinks were reasonably priced, shot was tasty and the beer was perfectly chilled. And last but not least...Kimmie (owner) was absolutely delightful! She kept a smile on her face throughout the evening as she served us all. She pleasantly introduced herself and answered a few questions about karaoke nights etc. I will definitely frequent this sweeeet little drinkery! read more

This is a teeny tiny bar that I can legit walk to. I've only ever went there to drink and play darts. People actually bring their own darts!!! At least they did back in the day. Always friendly service. read more

Came here on my first visit with friends and it happened to be the owners birthday. It's a cash only spot so bring plenty but prices weren't that bad. It's a clean spot with pool tables and three dart machines. Saturday's are karaoke nights which I partook. It was a fun time and the owner is a nice lady. read more

Stopped by this bar on the way home from shopping and I don't regret it! Kimmie the owner was amazing and sweet and had amazing vibes. Initially great bar and experience until the bartender/owner Kate got buzzed and threw away our drinks bc she heard a Spanish word and assumed we were talking about her. We most definitely weren't. So rude. So uncalled for. If you're going to ease drop and be offended at least make sure the conversation is about you. And to throw away our drinks and refuse to give us water?? She then proceeded to go outside and smoke and neglect everyone in the bar inside. Stay away from this place. read more

If reviewers could leave no stars I'd leave it. First of all security should have a identifying shirt or badge just not a shirt anybody can purchase from the business. Told me to turn off my headlights as I was parking in handicap and my lights were blinding the other patrons outside smoking and my lights (not my fault as my lights are automatic) are for security reasons to guide me in the dark as the lighting is dim. Smoking weed asking me for ID. I'm not going to endanger myself or my family by giving a stranger my information. I know my laws and rights and asking for the public's identification with no identifiers yourself is against the law. Beware of the pot smoking so called unidentifying security that's breaking the law himself by asking for the public's identification. I was there with a well known patron and was following me harassing me as I was walking inhibiting my path as I am handicap myself. Very uncalled for. This calls for a lawsuit if he assaults a patron while being under the influence of drugs. Yes legal but still under the influence. Beware!! And the bartender comes at you crazy!! read more

This is a really cool bar. It's sorta like a beautiful dive bar! It's got that cozy dive bar feel with the locals, pool table, dart boards and golf arcade games. But what you don't expect is the beautiful woodwork tables and decor and the super nice bartenders! My wife and I started going here (when California let us!) and then found out that you can easily get food from the Sunrise Cafe which is next door. The restaurant is great and has a huge selection (breakfast and lunch menus are at the bar). This is definitely gonna be our new hang out! read more

We were originally around the corner at another bar and this place looked interesting. We checked it out and LOVED IT! What a great dive bar! At least for day drinking... We had easy drinks - a draft beer and a vodka soda, but the service was immediate and the bartender even got some guys to make room for us at the bar. Did I mention the drinks are cheap and strong? It's a fine dive bar...but the drinks are week. Ordered a double kamikaze...cost $11.50 and was super weak. The bartender said it was because she adds extra soda to cut the liver effects of sweet and sour but I just wanted a straight kamikaze. Disappointed and definitely won't be back for a mixed drink. I've only been here twice on Saturday afternoons for the weekly trivia game, but I like what I've seen so far (for the most part): Yays: 1.) You won't run into anyone you don't want to see here. Unless you don't want to see middle-aged chainsmokers or trashy drunk women with teased hair and cowboy boots. 2.) There's trivia every Saturday at 1:30 pm. It's a blast, and you can win money, cheesy .99 cent store prizes (such as a box of Magnum condoms or a doo rag), and even a round of drinks! 3.) They offer cheap drinks. Domestic beers are $2.75--can't beat that! 4.) The bathroom is the best dive bathroom I've ever been in. I was expecting it to be disgusting and odorous, but it was actually quite clean. 5.) They have a mini-library where you can borrow/donate books. Nays: 1.) People chainsmoke inside and there isn't much ventilation--it's like being in a nicotine death chamber. 2.) You might find a dead insect in your ice cube. 3.) The booths are in dire need of reupholstering. Sitting in a booth here is like sitting on a broken mattress with springs flying every which way. 4.) You'll probably have to take a shower when you get home or before you go anywhere else--unless you like smelling like a walking ashtray. read more

Had a good time with friends... But couldn't get the bartender to make me drinks I ordered. She flat out said no???? So if you are in the mood for a Bloody Mary or a Michalada don't ask if Sara is the bartender... She won't do her Job. The other bartender JoJo who came in much later was nice enough to help me out and restore faith in coming back to the flite room with her kindness. The KJ Larry is very nice and lots of fun. But something needs to be done with Sara... I would recommend charm school and then she needs to learn that the customers come in to get drinks made by bartenders... They shouldn't refuse to make drinks. This is probably costing the bar a lot of money in lost customers. read more

I have been driving by this bar for a long time. What caught my eye was the 60's googie-ish lettering on the sign, and the fact you can't see at all what you're getting into when walking into this bar. No windows, no real light, my kinda barfly spot. Since it is the Flite Room and near the airport, I figure this was probably a place that the major carrier pilots used to hang out (hopefully AFTER their flights) and drink Martinis and Manhattans and tell pilot stories. 3 of us were out doing some housewares shopping at the Cost Plus down the street, and we decided on stopping in for a Sunday afternoon (or was it still considered morning?) drink. It was exactly what I expected, dark, a bit run down, and well full of alcohol and weirdness. The bartender working that day was a hoot. Wish I could remember her name, but she was just going a mile a minute. I said I wasn't sure what my poison would be that day, and she quickly floated me 4-5 1960's cocktail books. "Here, pick something out!" It was funny because if you don't know, a lot of the old cocktail books use ingredients that nobody would stock in a bar these days. Like fresh eggs and bitters, and stuff like that. Regardless, she did her best to entertain, gave us lemons from her tree that she had brought in for the taking, cranked the jukebox up to ear-bleed level and we ended up drinking for a few hours. Our tab almost blew our head's off... It was like $25 bucks or something! Totally nutty, since one was drinking martinis - which you know priced anywhere else are usually very steep. Ambience? Not much. It's got a pool table, a juke box, and a fireplace. They have a library where you can borrow books, funky. I imagine a lot of the neighborhood drunks hang out here and wander home. My smoking friends were happy to hear they didn't mind them lighting up (and provided ashtrays). Shhhhh, this is a secret! Please don't report them! I would probably hang out here if it was my local haunt. Being that I would have to drive home from this spot (and would be an expensive cab) I don't know how much "airtime" I'll be getting in the Flite Room. read more

Five star Dive AWESOMENESS!!! The drinks are ALWAYS strong here. The locals are a people-watcher's *delight*. If you're a douche bag or THE hot girl who wants to be seen..... you will absolutely HATE it. Nobody CARES how cool you are, or there to throw petals at your feet. Part sketchy people. Part friendly but above all... they are all MORE than down to cheer you on like the rock star you are when you karaoke. Nobody to impress here, so trust me.... BRING IT! They love it!!! J'DORE the DECOR! Especially the night sky mural behind the bartender. I wanna shake the hand of whoever made that masterpiece. The rest is just dive standards of games to pass the time and rickety chairs/tables, but with their prices you don't mind spilling a lil here & there. Last time I went....I realized there's a bookshelf next to the bar with TONS of books. I asked the bartender what they were doing there and she said with a COMPLETELY straight face.... $3.50 for a vodka tonic!? Nice! I usually call my vodka, but not tonight. Wanted to see what this place has to offer with their divey-ness. I went to meet my brother there with his LBC pool league & bar buddies, so I knew most of the people there. There were a few regulars at the bar, but we were at the tall tables. I took dinner for us and I heard the bartender tell the regulars, "ah, she brought her snacks." Heck yeah I did, that was one question I had for my brother... "Is there food there, or can I take my own food?" I even took enough to share with a few peeps. As mentioned in other review, the people watching is great! I come here every Saturday for karaoke. They have it Thurs-Sun, but Saturday also has a cute little lady serving food. Most delicious pulled pork I've ever tasted! Pam, the Sat & Sunday bartender, is very friendly and likes to joke with you. Be patient with her, she'll get to you. Here's the good and the bad from my point of view: THE GOOD: Karoke on Friday nights starting at 7:00 pm till closing. Come early for the most turns on the mike. It gets very crowded after 9:00 p.m. TIP YOUR KJ - He's so great! Trivia on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m. $5.00 buy in with lots of kooky prizes/cash and a good time to be had by all. Team play or individual play. Holiday Fun - Annual Christmas bash (drink specials and Karoke), and many holidays bring cheap food to the joint. St Pats in particular is a good time to come. Green beer and traditional corned beef and cabbage. Happy Hour is like from 2 - 4 (or something close to that) on weekdays. Cute little library - donate a book, borrow a book. Your choice. HOT NUTS - 25 cents! Goes great with beer and pool!! Top of the line internet Juke Box. 3 pool tables, electronic dart board, video golf game and 3 of the table top multi-play games for 25 cents a turn. Good selection of bottled beers and you can get a very reasonably priced pitcher of brew. Kewl!!! THE BAD: Not many condiments for those who like foo-foo drinks. If you want your martini with olives, better bring your own. Wine selection is at the Almaden level. Overall: I have seen many birthday bashes at this place and for those who like Karoke, you can't beat it. The prices are right and the bartenders hustle to get those drinks out fast and earn their tips so don't be stingy! It can get crowded after 9:00 so come early if you want a decent spot on a Friday night. VERY 50's retro/shabby decor. Lot's of characters do frequent the joint but they're mostly harmless. Large Boeing/Northrop clientele (who tell funny stories) from 4:00 p.m. till about 9:00 and then a very mixed crowd takes over. Everyone seems to have a good time and I have not seen any fights.
