Eathan is wonderful. I have had him tune my piano twice a year for three years now and I am always delighted with his service. The first time he came over I was worried that a mouse might have found its way into my piano. It turned out that I was worried for no reason -- but he was super patient and kind in walking me through how a mouse might get inside, and what kinds of damage to look for. My friends and I just moved into an old convent and were excited when we found out it came with a piano, or at least we were until we heard what it sounded like. All the other reviews are spot on! I loved reading through the FPF website - which was really helpful and thorough. This is the first piano I owned and Daniel did an amazing job - he spent a lot of time with the piano and it was clear that he really cares about his craft. He's listed as an apprentice - and I thought his work was fantastic. I haven't used the other folks but I'm sure they all do incredible work. The website is easy to use and the scheduling was a breeze. About a year or so ago, I emailed Eathan asking for some advice about purchasing a piano and he was really helpful and made some good suggestions. Mike did a fantastic job of taking care of my old (very old, hard-worn) piano. I had a snapped string and my soundboard is cracked, so it's not an easy job, but Mike was very clear about explaining everything and tuning it up as good as it can be. He was even able to splice the string, which saved me money and from having to wait for a replacement delivery. His work is a great value for a really great price. read more

My piano - a 12-year-old extra-tall upright - hadn't been tuned in almost 5 years. It was a quarter-tone (demi-semi-tone) off pitch, so it sounded terrible, and the silent pedal wasn't quite working on the bottom keys. I found Eathan via Google, and I'm so glad I gave him a call. He spent just under 3 hours meticulously tuning my piano and restoring its pitch. He fixed the pedal at no extra charge. He did a fantastic job and for a reasonable price. I love the way my piano sounds - and also feels! Now when I play now, it's a love affair - when previously it was a guilt trip... Eathan is also a really nice guy. He's friendly and a real gentleman - he even noticed that we are a no-shoes household and removed his boots before coming in. (We're not militant, but half of our friends haven't noticed that we generally don't wear shoes inside!) Anyway, if your piano needs to be tuned, don't hesitate to give Eathan a call. Very courteous. Punctual. Super easy to schedule an appointment through their site. I had an appointment with Daniel, who was listed as an apprentice (the tuners are listed and priced by experience). I have an upright player piano, and while he was honest that he hasn't had much experience with player pianos, he was careful and patient, working around the player-piano apparatus and taking it apart and re-assembling where necessary. Despite the extra bit of work involved, there was no additional charge. The piano had been handed down a couple generations in my family, and hadn't been tuned in a very long time. We've had our Currier spinet tuned twice by these guys (the first time by Eathan just after we got it, the second time by Mike) and they are amazing. Our piano is about 40 years old, and was left unplayed and untuned for about 20. We figured the first tuning/repair was best left to the master, and called in Eathan. When he was through, we had a piano in concert tune. He advised us then that due to the long time the piano had gone without a tuning, it would likely fall out again quickly, and we should try to have it tuned again as soon as we noticed. Well, we called *almost* as soon as we noticed. Sorry, Eathan. About 8 months later we made an appointment for a tuning with Mike, one of the apprentices. About a half an hour into his work, Mike called me over to let me know that the piano needed a pitch raise if we wanted to restore it to concert tune, and that would cost an additional $30. Was that alright? Seriously Mike? Of course it is. But thank you for being conscientious enough to ask. Pitch raise and tuning completed (and the lovely sound Eathan had brought out restored), Mike again reminded me that the stubborn strings would likely fall out of tune quickly, and to make another appointment as soon as they did to avoid the necessity of another pitch raise. I promise I'll do better this time, guys. I have had a piano my entire life, and I have never, ever had technicians that explained their process and the reasoning behind it the way that Mike and Eathan have, not even in the small town where I grew up. These guys are accessible, honest, and really dedicated to their work, and with the very reasonable amount they charge, there is no reason your piano can't be in perfect tune all the time. read more

I picked up a upright piano so my kids can practice at home when I send them to piano class. A few back a forths with Eathan and his office manager ( ?) Isaac and we finally locked down a appointment. His appointment was for a Sunday late afternoon. He called 20 minutes before the scheduled appointment time to let me know he was running late. Eathan finally arrived an hour later. He seemed quite knowledgeable and was able to disassemble the piano easily. The agreed upon cost upon scheduling was 150.00. When he arrives he mentions that because the piano hasn't been tuned in quite some time, it may need to have a pitch raise and that it would cost andother $50.00. (shrug ?) What do I know? I told him sure. I asked him what the difference between the pianio tune up and the pitch raise and he explained it to me. The answer sounded reasonable. (don't ask me to repeat. I don't remember what he said.) He took his time. He took out this little machine and started adjusting the tension on the strings. We did some small chit chat here and there. He's friendly and polite. read more
