So, I contacted the manufacturer (and some of their dealers) for help getting my fireplace to restart. Messages were left with most of the dealers I called. But one of the dealers I called, (Lumos Hearth & Home) answered and said they had staff more familiar with my system who would return my call. A short while later Hugh with Lumos returned my call. About ten minutes into my conversation with Hugh, my fireplace was operational again. Who could ask for anything more? Thanks, Hugh! (So many other dealers could have wanted to make an appointment and come out to inspect the issue.)

DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF GIVING LUMOS YOUR BUSINESS. YOU WILL COME TO REGRET IT. Their business…read moreis struggling and as a result, their follow through service, their commitment and sense of responsibility to their customers is awful. Do not buy anything from this company let alone your fireplaces. The process of ordering my two 50" Regency City Series Fireplaces with Hue (one of the original owners) started ages ago. After negotiating, Hugh (who was personally going to install my units) gave me a price with discounts because I was buying 2 very expensive units paid for upfront. Unfortunately, my project stalled so it took some time to deliver these units from the Regency warehouse but fast forward and I come to learn that Hue left his company and Wendy his partner/ex-wife was left holding the reigns. Once Hugh left, no one was left to install my units so Lumos and I had to scramble to find an installer. Finally I found someone to install the units that was recommended by NW Natural Gas and the same time, Lumos also found some third party installer but I didn't want to risk any more issues so I went with the people NW Natural recommended. I called Lumos and asked for a refund on the install which Wendy asked for time to do but when she finally did provide it, she cut out any discounts that Hue provided for me for buying these units from him. Wendy told me she's doing what she can to keep her business afloat but asked me to be understanding about the $1000+ discount that she kept and refused to refund because this was something her husband negotiated and he should never have taken full payment until the job was done. She also added the units I had pre-paid for in FULL cost more at delivery time as another reason for keeping my money but every excuse was senseless and unfair as again - I PREPAID for them. In addition to this, I have been asking for my Regency approved Crystals that go in my fireplace for several MONTHS. Lumos continually put me off, making excuses, even saying that they are in the mail but supposedly they had the wrong address so they went back to her store (even though texted my address to Scott her manager). Wendy finally called me to apologize and told me that they are shipping my crystals out again and provided a date of arrival. When these crystals arrived, them came in a beat up Amazon box from Amazon itself with stickers saying "made in China". Immediately my radar went off thinking that I'm sure Regency does not get their crystals from Amazon. So I set out to call several different fireplace stores to see if this is normal and NONE of them said it was. Everyone I spoke to somehow happened to know the troubles that Lumos is going through as a business (without me even mentioning their name) and everyone of them said that Regency has a brand of specific crystals that they test and would not suggest I use anything else. If something were to happen using non-approved crystals, it would probably null and void any warranties I have on my units. I even went so far as to talk to a Regency rep (who are VERY hard to get a hold of) and he too told me that my crystals should only be the Regency approved crystals shipped to dealers from them and I should not be using Amazon crystals in my unit. As a result of these calls, I again texted Wendy for the millionth time. I asked for a refund QR code so I can return her knock off crystals for her to get a credit but asked for her to send me the real crystals that are approved by Regency. To no surprise, she has since ghosted me. This journey with my fireplaces and Lumos has spanned a very long time now and even after all that has happened I was not going to post a negative review but after this crystal episode, I finally felt compelled to tell other customers about my horrible experience with them. For anyone thinking of buying anything from Lumos - DON'T !!! I REGRET ever using Lumos to buy my fireplaces and would NEVER EVER recommend anyone to them for anything. Shame on Regency for allowing a business like this to sell their products with no recourse for customers.

I had another piece made for the short wall behind the cabinets and I asked them to leave it until I lowered the wall and added new backsplash. Finally finished it all this year and a BGCC team returned to install it. These gentlemen took such pride in their work to compensate for the short wall having been built not level. By the time they completed their work the top was level and the finish work looked great. I'm so very grateful for their efforts! This is such an easy company to recommend to others. Thank you!

Norman, Sharon, Wen, and Ian are exceptional--not just in their craftsmanship, but as people. They are some of the kindest and most genuine individuals we've had the pleasure of working with. They care deeply about what they do, and it shows in both the quality of their work and their reliability and responsiveness. The way they treat their clients is truly next level. They are consistently on time, dependable, and deliver beautiful results. Norman has an incredible eye for selections, and I really enjoyed learning from him about cabinetry craftsmanship. Since this was our first home remodel, we leaned on his advice often--and many of his suggestions ended up shaping our home in the best way. Throughout the entire process, they went above and beyond. Anytime we had a vision, we could call Norman and the team, and they would find a way to bring it to life. Norman would come out, take measurements, and make it happen. When I wanted a custom bookcase, they absolutely delivered. That level of dedication and follow-through is rare. Wen also played a huge role throughout our remodel. From answering every question to supporting us through the final stages, he was incredibly kind, patient, and present the entire time. The customer service we experienced was outstanding, and the quality of the materials, custom cabinetry, and installation exceeded our expectations. You won't regret working with this team. It's rare to find people who care this much about their craft and their clients. We're incredibly grateful to them for showing us what true excellence looks like.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Robert Putnam (RPutnam Construction Services, LLC) was…read morehired for my house remodel which was regulated by a FHA 503k Remodel Loan. This is a long review which I don't want to appear to be as a "rant" but as an informational must read. RPutnam will try to claim I wanted perfection, not "industry standard". Is industry standard 6 nail holes in a 1 1/2" area on baseboard trim in your living room?! Is industry standard texture on only one side of kitchen window wall?! Is industry standard installing your kitchen cabinets only to realize he measured wrong and you are left with an approx. 9" gap of nothing beside the sink cabinets and you had to argue more than once to get him to decide on a remedy? I could go on and on with poor work that was done. And as you read through this, keep in mind his punchlist was 2 1/2 pages/typed! And he had to redo a lot of his punchlist items more than once BUT I wanted perfection! Oh and the lengthy punchlist was after he had to go around fixing things along the way during the remodel. Did I mention I took 10'ish items off his punchlist to assist him in finishing up? And he still didn't! BEWARE OF ANY CONTRACT YOU SIGN WITH RPUTNAM CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, LLC! RPutnam writes a contract to benefit himself entirely and it is not a two-way friendly contract for the consumer. I will start by stating that after RPutnam Construction Services was given my house remodel business/contract, RPutnam began complaining right away to me that "he was broke and didn't have gas money to make it to the project site" SO I loaned him money. RPutnam kept complaining about not having money to pay his rent and more, so I loaned him even more money! I continued to loan him money on several occasions because he was "always broke" and would say to me "not sure I can finish this project until I get more money" - granted he paid me back but the point is - he came across as an established reputable company when in reality RPutnam appears to be "robbing Peter to pay Paul". Rputnam took months to pay some vendors on my project even after he received draw payments (and some still haven't been paid as I write this). RPutnam stated in our contract the project would take an estimated 8-10 weeks, which turned into over 6 1/2 months! He broke every commit he made regarding when he would be finished. The bank had to give him a 2-week extension when he failed to meet the 6-month deadline (which meant I was in breach of my loan contract!) and even then, he did not finish up! And don't even think he will give you a schedule or let you know when he will arrive or not...project management 101 is a scheduled timeline! Yet he refused time and again to give me some sense of a scheduled expectation! He went over budget (by surprising me towards the end of the 5th month with an Allowance Invoice stating I went over my allowance budget BUT I was practically buying everything!). And this is after I asked many times a long the way where we were at regarding budget! Example- he charged me extra for 5 hours @ $65 per hour for stretching my newly laid carpet WHEN that should have been all part of his flooring budget and really when you lay carpet doesn't it include stretching that carpet?!? He charged me extra for counter top laminate work yet he hired a sub to install the laminate?!! He committed in writing to finding ways to save money in the budget when I gave him the remodel contract, this never happened - he took every dime and then some. Example - $1053 was budgeted for tile work - I purchased all the tile and supplies with my son-in-law doing the tile work. RPutnam took the entire $1053 without having done any work regarding tile in my home! This should have been an area he saved me money. I painted my master bathroom and he didn't offer me a credit for that and other work I did. He committed to having a "team" of sub-contractors working on the remodel when in reality he repeatedly hired temporary workers from a temp agency (which meant the temp(s) had little to no experience). He stated "I am trying to do all the work myself so I can make more money on this project". I ultimately had to settle for many projects not being done right! Examples: Damaged shower insets that had to be "patched", Interior paint throughout my home showing paint gun lines across my walls which means I am now personally repainting the inside of my home OR a poorly done texture job on all the ceilings, doors that continue to stick - the list goes on. Inferior when it comes to "finish work". Feel free to contact me privately for a more detailed discussion. SAVE YOURSELF SOME MISERY - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RPUTNAM CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, LLC.
