This company is based out of Everett WA not Salt Lake ... and they don't have anyone physically here. So if you are looking for a company to find underpaid subs and charge you a higher overhead price ... this is your company!!

I wound up with Modern Flooring Services because I purchased installation services through LL Flooring, where I purchased new flooring. When the promised installation date arrived (Tuesday), the installer did not show up. MFS had a supervisor show up as previously scheduled to ensure work was underway. He was shocked to see no installation crew as he had heard of no changes in schedule. The rest of the day was spent going back and forth with various people at MFS about how they cannot find anyone else to come out that day and promised a crew would be out on Thursday to start the project and then wrap it up on Saturday. Thursday came around and the installation crew did not show up again. Again, I had to contact MFS. They promised the installer would be out on Saturday morning at 8am to start the job and planned to finish by 4pm provided there were no issues in the sub-flooring that might cause delays. My contacts at MFS were even emphatic that they were going to work on Saturday and be available by phone because of this issue. Again, the installer no-showed. MFS, when they called, was surprised. They were going off to contact the installer. I then contacted the installation manager at LL Flooring because he contacted me on Thursday to make sure I had his number in the event anything were to happen. Well, when I contacted him I only got voicemail. I then turned around and contacted the manager of the LL Flooring store. He made his rounds on contacting people as well. Three hours later I had not received a single call back from anyone. I contacted LL Flooring and told them because this has left a bad taste in my mouth I will be returning all purchased flooring products for a full refund on flooring and installation services. During this ordeal, I came to find out that the installation crew was delayed on the Tuesday because of delays on their current project and their no-show on Thursday was due to inclement weather. These are very valid reasons for delays on their part BUT my issue is that MFS was not actively managing customer expectations and that I, as a customer, experienced the no-shows and informing them. It is always bad when a customer notices issues before a company does.

Installation was a breeze and the crew was professional and timely. I appreciate that they arrived when they said they would and kept the work area neat and tidy. I hope you don't ever have home damage that results in getting carpet replaced, but if you do (or if you just want a change), Big Bear is a solid choice to help you out.

This is not the kind of durability or quality you would expect, especially for something that's supposed to last for years. What makes it worse is the complete lack of accountability from the company. Instead of acknowledging that the product was defective, they immediately blamed the installation and our home's foundation being unleveled. This is unacceptable. A reputable company would take some responsibility and work with the customer to make things right, but Home Floor Decor Flooring Design clearly isn't interested in standing behind the products they sell. When we approached them about this, they admitted to not quality checking the product in the boxes before selling it to us. Avoid this company at all costs. The poor quality of their flooring and their unwillingness to take any responsibility for the issues speak volumes about how little they care about their customers. We spent almost 4K on this flooring, that they said was "first quality" and now we're left to deal with it.
