Of course, I started with the big box stores to nail down what would be a ridiculous price. Coming up short on so many other potential contractors, I mistakenly searched the web using this company's name--thinking it was another that I had been in contact with. I was impressed by CNY Flooring's online customer photos and testimonials, and afterward the willingness of the owner to arrange a free estimate, then finally and most of all the excellent pricing. I purchased my own tile elsewhere, and used CNY Flooring for the installation only. The owner Sid and his assistant did such awesome work and clean-up after that I'm now considering having more flooring work where I hadn't even thought of it before. I will provide an update and photos when the last piece is installed. But, I can tell you already that if you're looking for quality, timeliness, professionalism, and reasonable pricing, look no further. CNY Flooring is one of the best that I've encountered in 20 years here in Syracuse, and more than a half dozen tile flooring contractors in my home over the years. Asked for a leak repair, was quoted for ~$1200 for everything including drywall repairs. I asked…read morehim to repair leaks and leave all drywall for me to try to save money. He proceeded to charge ~$2300 for leak repairs, excluding drywall, which included replacing ~1.5 ft PVC fittings and pretty minimal copper fixes (which he had to bring in another plumber to fix). When I asked for itemized receipt I was given one that didn't include all payments so he had to spend a half an hour making a new receipt fudging numbers to make up the full cost of what he charged me. Actual itemized receipt is incredibly vague and now home warranty company is refusing to pay because what he charged is simply unreasonable. I recommend going with a more experienced contractor. If I had the time I could have fixed what they did for less than $300.
