We had a tent for our catered meal, dancing in the barn and our ceremony was in the field. Stacy was helpful and reassuring the whole time. She gave us names of local venders, caterers (we used Lori Gross Kinkade who went above and beyond!). She used all the pictures and flowers I told her I loved in such beautiful, creative and organic arrangements. I joked afterwards with my husband that of course a midwife turned farmer would be able to handle me being a high maintenance bride, she's handled higher pressure situations before! We hired them for our wedding to provide bouquets, floral pillars, and an altar piece for our church ceremony. Unfortunately, what we received was very disappointing. Many of the flowers were brown and wilted, the colors were nothing like what I had requested, and the overall design felt rushed and mismatched to the vision we had discussed. When I reached out to express my concerns, I was told that they could only refund the portion of the order that included the brown flowers -- essentially acknowledging that they had delivered poor-quality blooms. Thankfully, I had gone to Trader Joe's beforehand, planning to make my own centerpieces. In the end, I ended up using leftover flowers from those arrangements to create my own bouquets, boutonnieres, and altar piece -- all of which turned out far better than what I had received from the florist, and at a fraction of the cost. However, doing this last-minute added a lot of unnecessary stress to the morning of my wedding, as I scrambled to fix what should have been a finished and beautiful part of the day. I truly wish my experience had been different. Your wedding florals are such a meaningful part of the celebration, and it was heartbreaking to have to redo so much of it myself. Today, on the day of the service, the company I arranged it through canceled it with no notice a mere 2/2.5 hours before it was scheduled for delivery. From New York I frantically called florists up and down Brunswick Maine in extreme panic and Hawkes Flowers came to my rescue. With just 2 hours notice they put together a beautiful arrangement and delivered it to the church with plenty of time to spare. It was so important to us that our colleague knew we were thinking of her and the wonderful folks at Hawkes made sure that happened. The family was so touched.
