Floral Keepsakes does a great job of preserving flowers. I did my wedding bouquet and it looks as fresh as the day of my wedding. Yes, it's very expensive - I paid over $400 - but if it means something to you, then this is the business to do it at (not that there are any other options in Phoenix, but you could try online options for cheaper). Lisa explained the process to me when I first went and she was flexible in keeping it for me for a few months before I was able to pick up. They also have options for shadow boxes and dresses if you want to go that route. The store has a lot of examples of you want to get some ideas. read more

I used Floral Keepsakes at the recommendation of a friend who had a great experience. I checked out the displays that were posted online and really liked the work. My bouquet was small, only 4 large flowers with some baby breath and greenery. I was told by the owner that the flowers would be easy to work with and that she would make sure that the design was nice. At first I was thrilled with my flowers but the more I think about it, the more unhappy I get. First, communication was awful. Weeks went by without hearing from the owner. I knew that it took time to freeze dry the flowers but I didn't expect it to take 4 months. At that point, I just wanted to pick up my flowers. My daughter's arrangement is nice and we're happy with it. My bouquet is spread out and does not look as professional as the many other displays I see from this shop. I think the part that bothers me to most is that I paid almost $820 for the displays and cheap frame. This makes me sad because I am a very sentimental person and my bouquet was hand made by my best friend the morning of my wedding. I've waited to post a review because I didn't know if I was being unreasonable but after seeing many other displays that look like more time and care were put into them, I feel like something needed to be said. read more

I find it troubling that the first time that I've heard "sorry" from this business was when I put the review up on yelp. In my opinion, customer service includes calling the customer and offering help, comments or even suggestions for payment instead of a big @ss bill right after a wedding. Preserving the flowers seemed like a good idea but I'll admit, I should have done my research on the price! Only after we came in to the shop did the "payment plan" option come up. Did I mention the overall feel of the store? We had an appointment, but in the course of that appointment she helped 2 other people one was a double booking, and answered the phone more than that. I understand small family run business' but a simple sorry about that, or excuse me a moment, would have been nice. The work space for us to look at the shadowbox was the size of a cardboard box, no room to get a general idea of what this was going to look like. We honestly thought of just taking the flowers and doing it ourselves. And of course I ordered a custom shadowbox, everything that was in the store was either gaudy or I could buy it at Michael's for $30. Every time I drive by this place I shudder to think who their next victim might be. read more

Be ready to pay a fortune to have your flowers preserved and wait at least 3-4 months to get them back. My husband and I decided to preserve our wedding flowers. We took them in and worked with the mom of the mother-and-daughter team. She was very nice but seemed totally scattered. She let the phone continue to interrupt us while we were trying to conduct business. (They must be very short-staffed.) A month later after the flowers were dried-preserved, we went back to Floral Keepsakes to figure out a design. We met the daughter of the mother and daughter team who was not the warmest of people and was also too busy with her kids and the phone constantly interrupting. By this point we had invested too much money and time (not to mention our flowers were in their hands) and wanted to get our shadow box done. We upgraded to a custom-framed shadow box and wanted a classic vintage floral design. About a month later, after a few follow-up calls from me, I went to pick up my completed shadow box. What a disaster!! I don't know what they were thinking. I asked for classic design and got some retro/contemporary funky display. They didn't even add my husband's Boutonnière as we had initially requested. Ultimately, I ended up having my shadow box redesigned. There was a lot of hand-holding but they finally got it right which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of one. read more

Great experience getting my wedding bouquet preserved! Would highly recommend for anyone even someone who isn't sure how they want their bouquet to look- there are so many options to choose from of how you want your bouquet to be preserved. I had mine put into a shadow box and my husband's boutonniere preserved into 'beauty and the beast' style case- they turned out so beautiful! I agree with a few other reviews in that my only problem with this place was the price. I dropped off my bouquet in the whirlwind aftermath of my wedding. Guests were flying out, rentals needed to be returned, you know the drill. I was explained the prices per flower, based on variety, and told that my entire bouquet would be dried and I would only be charged for what we used in the design. I thought this was very kind and would work to my advantage, as we could use only the best flowers. I was wrong. When I returned weeks later and the bill started growing, I panicked but was trapped. The fee per flower was minimal, but the design fee was HUGE (I should add that the "design" was essentially gluing the flowers in the box in a sort of curvy "S" shape...). The shadow boxes and frames in the store are drastically overpriced, but even if you bring in your own, you will get slammed with the design fee. I couldn't back out because then I would have to buy back my bouquet and be charged for EACH individual flower because they had already been dried. The final product is ok but the final cost was A SMALL FORTUNE. And this is coming from someone who just paid for a wedding, so I'm not exaggerating. My only advice for brides is to go in prepared. WAY before you ever have a real bouquet in your hands. Take a guess at your flower type and get an estimate for number of flowers used, shadow box, design fee, taxes, absolutely every possible charge, and have them commit to this if possible, so that you will not nearly suffer a heart attack like me. Also, once they have your flowers, they are basically held hostage. You will pay out the nose to either get them back or put in a frame, so make sure this is want you want before you hand them over. If I had known how much this was going to cost, I would have hung the flowers to dry, bought a shadow box at Michael's, and would have been just as happy with the results. (PS...this was in 2013, yelp just reminded me I never posted the review). Even now, 4 years later, I look at my shadow box and wish I had done something else with my flowers. Look, here's the deal. 1. It's pricey. It cost me $51 to do a single Kentucky Derby Rose (short stem) but that included the ~$35 bell jar I picked out. (So if you are planning bouquets or massive amounts of stuff - get ready for sticker shock) 2. It takes forever. ( 2 months in my case and I wasn't doing anything massive.) 3. The work is good. I may adjust the final design a bit myself to tailor it to my specific desires but in MY case that'll be quick, painless and cheap. Probably not for a larger deal. 4. I called a TON of places as my flower lie wilting after days in transport from Kentucky to Phoenix thru rain, hail, cars, vans, and airplanes tucked into luggage. 5. During the lengthy processing time, you won't hear a peep from them. It's a small operation and they could use a bit of work on their organizational/communication skills, but what do you want - someone to call you every week and say "Yep, still drying"? I've "preserved" flowers before by hanging/pressing. I was tempted to do this one in a block of acrylic but since I'm not skilled at acrylic pouring I didn't think that was a wise choice. FK achieved the goal I was looking for less than I would have spent on acrylic (minus the fact it isn't encased in a block of acrylic) I'm sure. How it will survive the long run, anybody's guess. Overall, I'm happy with this family run business. You probably won't find anyone else locally that can do this (I couldn't and my google-fu is awesome). If you are planning on preserving a lot of stuff - call them ahead of time (before you have the stuff, not after a wedding/funeral) and get a complete price breakdown including containers and design fees. 3.75 stars. read more

The only thing that we are unhappy with is the price. It's very expensive to have the flowers preserved here! Then the day I went to pick out my actual shadow box the prices blew me away again. I felt to far in to back out now. I was literally on the verge of tears because of the prices. I never imagined spending more on the preservation and shadow box then I did on the entire wedding party's flowers. The owner did come down in price on a pre-made shadow box, but I still spent well over what I budgeted in my head and told my husband I would spend, luckily he was there and told me to up my budget and be happy...even if we really couldn't afford it. BUT my shadow box turned out so beautiful! This time my eyes filled with happy tears! Everyone says its just so beautiful. I never had any negative interactions with staff and was never bothered if I was asked to wait a moment when the phones rang, I work retail...I get it! Overall very happy and in the end so worth the money! If you need to save money I suggest planning ahead before the wedding (which I did not do) and get a price quote for entire box and preservation. Floral Keepsakes is located right next door to my florist, the Garage by Ivy. I would browse through the store when I was meeting with the florist. Her shop is beautiful and has some really unique pieces and ideas to preserve important and special days/events. I got married out of town and wasnt going to be able to drop off my bouquet for 2 days after the wedding. I was worried that some of the flowers would be too wilted to preserve. When I brought in the bouquet she explained the different options I had for preserving and displaying it. I decided on a beautiful glass dome and to fit my budget she was able to preserve my bouquet and arrange it so that it was a slightly smaller version of the original. I didnt have my husbands boutonniere with me but she asked me to send her a picture of it and she would be able to recreate it and add it to the dome display. It took a little longer than I expected but that didnt bother me. She kept me in the loop as to what was going on. The finished product was worth waiting for. It was gorgeous and she was able to arrange the bouquet exactly like it looked at the wedding. Im usually not one to hold on to things like flowers but I was so impressed with my flowers that I knew I wanted to be able to look at them later on and not through pictures. Lisa was great to work with and was extremely helpful. I would definitely go back to Floral Keepsakes again for unique gifts. It was a great experience. read more

My husband and I were recently married in Maui. My mother-in-law decided to bring all of our flowers back from Hawaii, so we figured we'd get them preserved. I called around and Floral Keepsakes was the only place I could find that did flower preservation. I called, and spoke with Lisa. She seemed very nice and even offered to wait after closing for me to take the flowers as soon as possible. We took the flowers in, and she immediately said it was going to be a $200 deposit. My husband and I were shocked, as we were not expecting such a large deposit (which was never mentioned on the phone). She proceeded to explain that the deposit could go towards the arrangement. Where typically each flower ranges from $10 and up (I don't remember the exact number but you get the idea) to be preserved. We thought it was fair, so they could start doing the preserving. So we paid the $200. At this point, having not known any better, I assumed the deposit would cover the cost of the flowers. One month later we went in for an appointment where we would choose the shadow box we wanted our arrangement to go in. We searched the store high and low, and we felt everything was extremely overpriced. Now that the box was chosen, we discussed what flowers would be used. She charged a flat fee of $250 to re-create the bouquet. There was a separate charge for the leis, the boutonniere, etc. Did I mention a design fee? Well we were charged that too on top of everything else. When everything was said and done, the total was somewhere in the neighborhood of $700. We decided to take all the extra's off and just do the bouquet and have our leis laying in the bottom because of the outrageous price! No Frills. We walked out paying nearly $650. Update: Lisa contacted me directly to discuss our experience. Although we appreciate her reaching out, the main purpose of this review was not to bash her business. I just wanted people to be aware that getting your flowers preserved can be pricey, as I would have wanted to know that before I did it. I do want to give anyone doing this some advice- Budget for this, and if you don't like the display cases in the store, they allow you to bring your own (we were not aware of this). Bringing our own case could have saved us a few hundred dollars! read more

I wish that I had read these reviews before I proceeded with my plan to preserve my wedding bouquet. In spite of getting my refrigerated bouquet to them within 2 days of my wedding, some of the flowers in the preserved bouquet are shriveled and browning. The orchids preserved quite well and other flowers were replaced with silk, which I expected. But some of the natural flowers like the white stock look horrible. Why not replace those with silk also? The $250 up front fee was not too difficult to swallow as it was comparable to other vendors online from what I could tell. But when I chose a frame to put everything in, I was hit with sticker shock. $900 for a plastic frame with a plastic bubble! I'm pretty sure the sample of the frame I was shown was wood. And I had no idea the "glass" would actually be plastic. Since I was already committed to the project I didn't see another option but to pay it. I could not find another local vendor who does this type of work. It wasn't until I picked up the finished product that I learned how cheap the whole thing looks and feels. It took 5 months to complete the project (absurd), and I had no contact from the staff. All communication was initiated by me to follow up on the status of my order. Very unprofessional. For the amount I spent I was expecting a gorgeous product. read more

My mother dropped my bouquet off the day after the wedding while my husband and I left for our honeymoon. I wasn't originally going to have my bouquet preserved, but day of events changed that. So needless to say I wasn't prepared for this. After we returned my mother told me where she dropped it off and how much they charged. I almost fell off my chair when she told me the price. I then went online to read all the reviews and was a little worried. Overall, I'm satisfied with the result. The bouquet came out beautifully; absolutely gorgeous. I did not choose to use any of their containers for my flowers, decided I'll find something cheaper to put it in myself. The quality was great, but extremely expensive. read more

i was just as unhappy as these other brides!!! unbelievably expensive and very misleading the way they explain things!! i paid $300 and wound up with only 1\4 of my original flowers and most of those were replaced with artificial. where the heck is the rest of my flowers??? she must have used them for some of the overpriced arrangements she retails. also a $45 design fee charge to pin it to a piece of styrofoam, wow!! i felt extremely taken advantage of, wish there was a better way to warn brides not to go there read more

I have no complaints at all! Lisa did an outstanding job. I knew it would be a little pricey, but to be able to memorialize my late husband it was well worth the money. I had her prepare a shadow box with selected flowers from the casket and special arrangements (with small photos of the arrangements), included the prayer card, photo of my husband, a fisherman statue ornament (from his grandkids), a miniature camera, for his hobby, a 58 Corvette Hot Wheels car, (his "first car"), 2 rings he treasured, and a small barbell (he was also a health nut). It was perfect. After I saw the results, I had her make 3 additional ones all identical with only the rings as a change for our sons and his sister. They are treasured memorials of a special man in our lives. When my brother passed away several months later, I memorialized him in a similar fashion. I would find it difficult to recommend ANYONE higher than Lisa. You won't be sorry! read more

I can't even tell you how thrilled I am with the flowers and shadowbox to commemorate our wedding. It's unbelievable how my bouquet looks as fresh as the day we were married and will stay that way. It can be pricey depending on your choices, but if you want something this remarkable, you have to understand the process and the labor involved. The person that waited on us explained that it takes one person a FULL DAY just to individually treat each flower and reassemble the bouquet. We were given many display options with a wide variety of pricing. There was no pressure or up-selling. Every single person that comes to our home comments on our shadowbox and is amazed at the beauty. The designer we worked with was patient, helpful and very creative. From the beginning we were given options to keep down costs. We opted for the more expensive custom shadowbox, but were given the options for many more affordable choices. I would recommend this business to anyone and have actually referred several friends to them. read more
