In the beginning of August I wanted to send my mom some flowers to celebrate her new school year because it's actually her last school year too, before she retires! I searched websites (not wanting to call anyone). The first florist I landed on (NovaPetal) had a weird check out process and I couldn't enter in delivery details. The second florist I tried didn't deliver to the Phoenix area I needed. I went back to Yelp and landed on Roadrunner Florist, and I'm so happy I did!! I actually saw a summer bouquet that was on sale and didn't specify what flowers would be used, but I took the chance anyway. When I told my sister the overall price, she was concerned we wouldn't be getting a good product for the value, but boy were we proven wrong! They sent us a pic before delivery and I actually clapped when I saw it! As you can see below, they are GORGEOUS and well put together. I was able to leave a message too, with the bouquet. My mom was so pleasantly surprised and happy! The shop did text me before delivery, but they did not text me after. My sister has used other florists in other areas, and they usually text her to confirm delivery. However, this did not temper my experience. I recently contacted Roadrunner to order flowers for my mothers 90th birthday. She suffers from dementia and lives with my sister. I requested a bouquet that would include yellow roses as those are her favorite. I ordered them over the phone and the lady I spoke with was so friendly and happy to accommodate my request for the yellow roses in the bouquet. The flowers were to be delivered on her birthday. That day I received a text with a photo of the flowers. They were lovely. Then I received a text that they had been delivered. I spoke with mom later in the day and asked if she had received flowers. She told me she had not. Obviously concerned, I called Roadrunner and again spoke with a very sweet lady who assured me the flowers had been delivered. She even described the house, the dog and the lady she handed the flowers to (my sister). I called my sister's house again and she told me the flowers had been delivered by a delightful lady and that out mom loved them and keeps walking by them saying how pretty they are and how special she feels. She just did not recall getting a flower delivery when we spoke. Damn Dementia. Roadrunner made her day - and mine as well. Fantastic flowers and amazing customer service. read more

Not only that they did a little more digging when I told them she was in nursing school and actually had them delivered there before she was done with classes for the day. I'm disappointed that everyone else seems to have had an amazing experience which is why I contacted Roadrunner florists. Tina sounds fantastic but that is NOT who I spoke with. The gentleman who answered the phone was rude and very curt. I had explained that my father just passed away, and I was inquiring about Peonies for his memorial since they were his favorite flower. The man interrupted me, told me they were unavailable and told me to contact a florist that was closer to the funeral home called Fountain Hills Florists, which according to Yelp is closed. To boot, he sounded irritated when I tried to clarify on the name. Not helpful and no compassion whatsoever. Forget about customer service...what about just being a pleasant human being? Shame on you. *** To clarify to the owner who commented below, I have no problem w referring me to someone else. It wasn't what was said. It was HOW it was said. A phone number would've been nice and easy when I had initially called, but it wasn't provided bc your colleague was too busy being indifferent. I chose Roadrunner Florist based upon the Yelp reviews and my decision to go with a small family owned florist was well founded. I needed a special arrangement for a close acquaintance funeral. When I called, the owner (I assume) was in her car likely making a delivery. She asked me to hold on and then once she was safely pulled over, went over options as I told her what I was seeing on their very thorough website. She knew each product as if she was looking at the website with me. She made recommendations that I never would have thought of. I knew what my budget was but she didn't ask what I wanted to spend; however instead saying such and such would cost $75 and asked if that was within my budget. She had no idea that my budget was actually $150-$200. We completed the order over the phone with the agreement that the arrangements would be delivered later in the day. I was told that they send a text to advise when the delivery is being made and they send photos of the arrangement(s). I thought this alone was amazing, because so often in the past when I've ordered flowers then a day or two later visited the recipient, I was embarrassed by what I saw. I believe $165 for a delivered arrangement (we actually went with two items because I wanted greens as well as colorful floral) is not a small purchase and for me to give them 5-stars means that what was delivered was worth that and possibly more. read more

I am so impressed with this florist! The wonderful people at roadrunner went above and beyond to ensure a friend received fresh flowers during a recent hospital stay. I originally ordered an arrangement to be sent to the hospital when I found out my friend had been transferred to ICU. Flowers aren't allowed in the ICU. Well even though the order was prepared for delivery Roadrunner stopped delivery and said they would deliver a fresh arrangement when she moved back to a regular room. Not only that, they proceeded to call the hospital multiple times every day to check on my friend's status so I didn't have to. On Friday, my friend expected a change in status to a regular room but it might not occur until the weekend. Seeing as how they don't deliver in the weekend, Roadrunner offered to directly call my friend's husband to arrange delivery to him so she could still have them during the weekend.
