After looking into DIY options and having no luck with Michael's framing department, I contacted Affordable Framing to see if they could help me. Who knew framing a 6 foot silk scarf would be so difficult?! Well, Kirtis was up to the challenge and let me tell you, he got it done perfectly! The store has a million different frame options, matting options, glass options and more! Anything you can imagine, they can do! It seems like custom work really is their specialty, although they're able to get a simple photo or poster framed quickly. My initial consultation with Kirtis was thorough and I really appreciate how he spent a lot of time with me going over different design choices at various price points. I felt no pressure to make a quick decision, and there was no effort to "up sell" me on something I didn't need. The scarf project presented some challenges given its large size and the delicateness of the fabric, but Kirtis kept me updated with periodic phone calls. He suggested a couple of adjustments to our original design to ensure the final product would be satisfactory. I'm grateful for his creative thinking to get it done! Ultimately we were able to get the scarf safely framed in a floating shadow box with secure backing to prevent damage from humidity and moths.
