Now each year when we come to the area, I make sure to get in a trip to Beall's at least once to peruse and shop. Beall's is located right in town in Chiefland, at the end of a strip mall. It shares a parking lot with the other businesses in the strip, but there are always spots available. We visited on a Saturday morning this past July, and had no trouble finding somewhere to park. I have personally never visited this store when there was an overwhelming crowd, but there are usually at least a few others shopping at any given time. It is really the only department-esque store in the town, so I would imagine a lot of locals come here to do their shopping for clothing and home items if they do not want to drive to a more major city. If you have never been to Beall's, I would describe it as a mix between a Burlington Coat Factory/TJ Maxx/Kohl's. They have a healthy selection of clothes for all (men, women, children), home decor, accessories, house supplies, gifts, and more. It is definitely a store you can spend some time in just looking around at all of the different selection and variety of items. It also seems like the inventory rotates, so you never quite know what you will find, which is part of the fun! The prices and value here are fair. I would compare it to that of a TJ Maxx in this regard. It is considered an outlet, so presumably they will have brands at slightly lower prices than you may find in a department store. Anytime I have visited this location, the staff have been friendly and helpful. I have never had bad service, nor have I personally ever heard of anyone else having bad service here, either! I am glad that this store exists in Chiefland. As stated, there is not really another store like it in the town or general area, so it is great for those who do not want to drive a significant distance for a new outfit or something for their home. They always have a healthy selection and variety, along with great service. I will definitely be back the next time I find myself in the Chiefland area!

I didn't go inside those stores. Instead, I just went to Bath and Body Works to buy shampoo and lotion. The food court is decent, and there is a nice sit down Japanese restaurant as well. There was a small arcade and a VR shop. I did see a TBone kiddie ride, so I had to hop on that for fun (without actually riding it). I was surprised not to see security staff, but I did see a janitor instead. The mall and bathrooms were pretty clean and kept. The mall is still alive, but could use a bit more customers. Easy to hit the self-checkout and not have to interact with an associate. One ding for cart corrals that did not get cleared before the end of the day. I've been to a few Walmarts. I am sure this mall won't last another ten years but the fact that it's open in 2023 is testament to the people of Lake City who like to shop here. It's a cute place with easy parking, but not the kind of shopping center you just wander around in. The stores are very specific and kind of random. The women in the Gator fashion store were really friendly and so was the team in the bead shore, but there wasn't really anything else we were interested in.

There is also a great massage spa and a European market with free chocolate tastes :) I would like to see this place beautify the center square a little more and develop a sense of "come relax here." A nice cafe with outdoor seating could also really help the center take off.
