*PLEASE READ IF YOU WANT AN HONEST, DIRECT, REVIEW* First off, I've been ordering flowers here for years, and my experience has always been 1st class. The flowers are beautiful, as well as how they arrange them and anyone I've ordered them for (typically my wife) absolutely lives them. I recently had had a minor hiccup but got a call within minutes and the resolution was above and beyond, and quite frankly you can't be perfect 100% of the time, but it's how you handle situations that come up and again they more than enough took care of the hiccup. Now, for everyone posting 1 star, and again, I'm keeping it real. First off, don't order flowers from a 3rd part website, that just means you're trying to be cheap and and get as much as you can and for little to nothing and expect the business owner to give you solid gold when you are clearly paying for something that was gold plated. Also, you don't call up a florist and try to get pricing on each individual flower, I mean who does that? If you want to have the best experience here, have a price range in mind of what you'd like to spend and have a conversation with someone at the shop who will ask you questions and use their expertise to design something beautiful for you. If you let them do their job and follow the process you will not be disappointed, and yes you will pay a little more here, but like anything if life, you get what you pay for, it's like going to mcDonalds and expecting a high end piece of steak that you'd find at Capital Grille, so don't go there expecting to pay $20 bucks and have this massive bouquet. This is a higher end floral shop and that comes with a slightly higher price tag, but if you think about it, you're typically getting flowers for someone to show them that you either love or care about them, right? So why would you be so cheap and want to cheap on the probably once a year flowers that you get someone? Anyway, this florist should have a 5 star rating, it just pains me to see so many complainers trying to bring down a fantastic local florist. Purchased tulip but on the delivery date they were apparently out of stock. They called to let us know but we were at work so we could not pick up. They decided to delivery pionies instead. We reached out to customer service to let them know we had purchased tulips and while the pionies were pretty, we wanted tulips. We suggested delivering tulips at a later date, which we thought seemed the most reasonable solution. The company to our surprised refused. We then asked for our money back, which they also refused. First experience here was awesome. Spent $55 got a huge bouquet, lasted about 2 weeks. My second experience, I spent $55 again and a different woman helped me and made a pathetically small bouquet. I figured must have been a fluke so I gave them another shot today.... I spent $45, had the same woman as the second time and received 7 flowers..... SEVEN INDIVIDUAL SINGLE FLOWERS. I made this purchase around noon and now, 6pm SIX HOURS LATER 6/7 flowers are completed wilted and one flower is arguably in good shape. I can't believe how awful these last two bouquets have been. My second experience with Flores Mantilla has also been a disappointment. I ordered a deluxe bouquet from a third party floral website. My mom received 3 lilies, 1 rose, and scarce daisy filler. What is most insulting (besides it being a fraction of the size of the bouquet I paid for), is that the bouquet wasn't even pretty! How an experienced florist can stand by this quality is beyond my understanding. I went so far as asking the third party website NOT to use this florist, as my last experience was the same. Mother's Day 2015: roses delivered in a fraction of the volume, and partially dead. I was notified that delivery took place on May 7 as paid for, however, my mother did not receive until May 9. The fabrication of delivery confirmation, unacceptable quality, along with poor customer service, should serve as a warning to potential new customers. read more

Nancy Mantilla of Flores Mantilla designed the flowers for my wedding this May. All of her arrangements were just beautiful, and I was equally impressed by how she listened to my requests and made sure that she incorporated the elements that were important to me (right down to some gorgeous Lily of the Valley she had flown in from Europe!) I could not have been happier with my flowers. They made our celebration so elegant and festive, and every time I look at my photos from the day, the flowers make me happy all over again. Highly overrated. This store may do a fine job with big, expensive orders (weddings, for example) but for the simple (a prom boutonniere) they didn't make much of an effort. When I ordered, they asked what color ribbon I wanted and I told them blue; the final product had no ribbon at all. It was not in a protective box, but just a bag, so was prone to bruising and damage on the way home. And it was very expensive! The store is packed to the gills, which almost makes it difficult to find a pathway to the service desk. The staff seems distracted and the younger clerks don't exude confidence. The owner's three, largish, dogs come running when you walk in the door; if you're allergic or not a dog lover, avoid this place! OMG. WORST floral experience I have EVER had. My birthday was this past Wednesday Dec 21. I got DEAD flowers. The owner was UNBELIEVABLY RUDE and HOSTILE when I FINALLY got her on the phone today, FOUR days later. STILL NO replacement FLOWERS! Details: A friend ordered flowers online, to be fulfilled by Flores Mantilla. They attempted delivery at 7:30 pm. Wed. I was out celebrating my Bday so knew nothing of it. The delivery guy left a message on my cell so I called the next day and waited for a late day arrival of a very dead and battered about bunch of red and white carnations with dead evergreen. WOW. Looked like a week old $5 bouquet from the check out at Store 24. I seldom complain, but this was such a disservice to my friend. I called. A young woman at Flores Mantilla told me I should contact the online company and take it up with them. I said "Really? You want MY FRIEND to know you sent dead flowers, and then you want her to report to the online company that you delivered lousy service? That's pretty lousy customer service. Why don't you just replace them?" She'll have someone call me back. NO CALL BACK. I call 24 hrs later. After much conversation, a more mature woman agrees they will replace them. I need to be home. It's now Friday, 2 days before Christmas and I have a huge TO-DO list. So she gets me to agree to wait until 3pm for the flowers to arrive as they don't want to leave them out in the cold. 3:00 comes and goes. I wait til 5:30. I call. "Driver is 15 mins away. I need to stay." TWO MORE HOURS goes by. I make my FOURTH call of the day. "Driver is 15 mins away." I tell her I HAVE to get to grocery store before it closes and have driver just leave them. I put same note on my door. I get home 11pm. NO FLOWERS. Today, Dec. 24 I call + get SAME runaround. I insist on talking to Nancy Mantilla the owner. OH MY GOD. TOTAL BATTLE AXE. She INSTANTLY BLASTED me with LOUD antagonistic impatient demands and criticisms and didn't let me finish a SINGLE sentence or even answer her questions. I mean LITERALLY. I was temperate. I appreciate that they were very busy. I was TRYING to offer her a simple solution ( deliver flowers next week after her rush) but she was so hostile and rampaged on nonstop about how she didn't have time to hear my "story" but never stopped "talking" herself and wasted precious time we could have spent having a pleasant productive conversation. NO MENTION of an apology or Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas or ANY such nicety. I am a rational person who is cool under pressure and am NOT "sensitive". I told Nancy that she was being REALLY VERY rude and that her customer service was gross. She never stopped yelling at me. She called back 10 mins later to say a driver "had the flowers". She was so bad that I started out by saying that I wasn't interested in talking to her unless she was going to be pleasant. Didn't happen. She INSISTED that the driver deliver my flowers today on Xmas Eve even AFTER I told her I was leaving the house soon for the holiday and no one would be home to accept them. She finally DEMANDED to know "Then WHEN do you want them?!" Monday. She carried on machine-gun style about how busy she was and blasted on justifying their shitty service and telling me once again that she didn't have time to "hear my story" (that I WASN'T even once trying to tell her)...and her tone remained hostile. I wasn't willing be on the receipt end of this nastiness any longer and I finally just hung up on her. And it's Christmas Eve. Tis the season to be jolly.... NOT. Mistakes are made and it's not the end of the world. MULTIPLE back to back mistakes and then instant HOSTILE RUDENESS from the owner. And then just MORE of it. WOW. UPDATE. DEC 25. 12:45 AM. Got home tonight to find a bouquet outside at my front door, even though the owner agreed to NOT leave them outside, and to wait until Monday to deliver them. I received Flowers from Nordstrom/Salesperson and these were left outside my Home on a damp cool day. I never knew I received flowers as no one bothered to knock or ring my door bell even though I work from Home. When my Husband returned from work he found the flowers outside on my porch and not in great shape. I opened the card and immediately phoned the Company to ask why they left flowers unattended on a cool day. I was very disturbed with the conversation as Owner promised to phone me back - she didn't so I had to phone Nordstrom to inform them of the experience. I don't agree at all with the review written prior as based on the arrangement, condition and unprofessional service, this florist wouldn't be competition for any other Florist. Please be advised when using this service that the business does not issue refunds even for mistakes that occur on their behalf. I called for a same-day delivery of flowers to my mom's office in the South End, thinking that their new Boston location was open right around the corner in the Back Bay. At the end of the call when I had to pay for my order, I was told that that location wasn't open yet, and they were delivering from Marblehead. I wouldn't have ever used a florist so far away, and would have cancelled my order but didn't for fear of wasting their time. I now wish I had cancelled my order and used one of the local shops in Boston--it was my time that ended up being wasted by using Flores Mantilla's service. The flowers never arrived, with the simple explanation that the driver could not find the location. This to me was unacceptable. I paid a $15 delivery fee so that the flowers would be delivered on the day that I requested--a fee that would not have been levied by a local florist, as I could have picked them up. Had I not investigated to see if my mom had received the flowers, I don't know if they ever would have delivered them. I would be wary of doing business with this company. I rarely write Yelp reviews, but I'm very dissatisfied with the lack of accurate information about their Boston location, and their inability to provide refunds even for mistakes on their end. read more

The Very Best I should preface this review by stating that I worked for a premier flower shop for over 10 years in Boston and Cambridge, and know every aspect of the industry intimately. So, I felt a little guilty calling this shop at the last minute, but I had been travelling and was on my way up the coast to Marblehead for a weekend of theater and art, and it was my anniversary! The desk at the Inn where I stayed recommended Flores Mantilla, so I called and I ordered two arrangements over the phone form the owner Nancy, who instinctively knew what I needed. I called her at 12:30 leaving Boston for the North Shore, and by 5:00pm I had the most spectacular arrangements I've seen in the Massachusetts area in my room at the Inn. Bear in mind that it was Mother's Day weekend, First Holy Communion chaos, and Prom Time, a Floral Trifecta! She pulled it off beyond my expectations, and within my time crunch. I had to stop by her shop to say thanks to her in person, and her inventory and presentation inside her business were magical, Her staff is wonderful, her style is impeccable,and she is one of then most endearing North Shore personalities you will ever meet. This place doesn't deliver on it's promises, and doesn't care about it either. I suppose with it's exorbitant prices it can afford to rip off orders from aboard with impunity. The staff didn't deliver the flowers that they were paid to deliver, the flowers, when collected were the wrong ones, the promises of a reparative bouquet - too late too have been of any use anyway, weren't delivered either. What a bunch of dead roses they have proved themselves to be......they have no useful purpose but they still have thorns to sting you with. read more

You can tell just by walking into her store (and from seeing the beautiful exterior) that Nancy is extremely talented. Nancy provided the best service possible and was so responsive and was willing to meet us numerous times. She also was also so understanding when I changed my mind on the arrangements numerous times! No stars...NO STARS. I gave it a star because I had to. My eldest daughter ordered a bouquet of flowers, of particular colours for our youngest daughters wedding. To be delivered in the morning of the wedding. All morning went by with no delivery. Eventually, I drove to the shop, and explained the situation, and with an almost sociopathic lack of interest, and no apology, they were slowly and apathetically located and given to me.........They were the wrong colours, too late for the ceremony and vastly over priced. My eldest daughter complained and was promised that another bouquet in the correct colours would be sent as replacement the next day...what is the point of that! A day late? I work for a non profit organization and recently found myself in a bind regarding floral arrangements for a rapidly approaching event. I called Flores Mantilla- a business I always knew to be flexible, generous, and brilliant in their area of expertise. They did not disappoint. Not only were they able to fulfill my unreasonable request for 17 centerpieces needing to be made and delivered to Boston in 3 days time, but they did so at a price that, being a non profit organization, was very generous. I was very disappointed with the arrangement dropped on my doorstep. There were 3 dead roses in the arrangement as well as a dead green mum. Also, 2 disappointing hydrangea. The rest of the arrangement was mums. I took the arrangement back and was given 2 roses for the 3 dead roses and roughly equivalent hydrangea (no improvement, in fact they were much smaller than the original hydrangea.The dead green mum was not replaced. Then the owner of the shop started arguing with me about what should have been done, but did not really apologize or offer any better arrangement. read more

Completely unprofessional and condescending....as if one check up call on a late delivery was the biggest inconvenience....actually referred to a paying customer as "annoying". DO NOT ORDER FLOWERS FROM THIS STORE! I've had a similar bad experience as previous customers. Friends from Europe recently ordered flowers for me. I was not contacted regarding delivery, I was at home all day but the delivery person did not knock or ring the door bell, instead they left the flowers in the driveway in blistering heat. By the time I discovered the flowers the water in the vase was very hot. I contacted the store immediately, the sales associate I spoke to could not help me and the manger was not available. I was promised a call back from the manager. Two days later I still had not received a call back and by this time the flowers were dying. I again contacted the store and the sales associate was extremely unhelpful and again the manager was not available. When Nancy the "manager/owner/president " finally called back, she was extremely rude, condescending and totally unprofessional. After several minutes of listening to her "ranting" at me she agreed to have another flower arrangement delivered the next day. My husband called the store to check on the deliver time and he was given a window of noon to 2:30pm. I arranged to be home for the delivery. By 5pm the flowers had not arrived. We contacted the store again and Nancy was again very rude saying "it's not her concern that we had to wait all day for a delivery promised by 2:30pm" The flowers were finally delivered at 5:30pm. There are many GOOD, PROFESSIONAL florists only too eager for your custom who will treat you with respect and professionalism. DON'T order flowers from Flores Mantila. This is the worst florist to order flowers from. BEWARE! I ordered a bouquet of roses from Flores Mantilla for Valentines day. The company delivered the flowers as scheduled. However, the quality of the flowers were horrible. For $80 they sent me a dozen dead roses that I was truthfully embarrassed to present to anyone. The flowers weren't even arranged in the vase and they were simply stuffed in like trash. When I called the flower shop an associate by the name of Matt attempted to help me out. I asked him to pickup the roses and give me a refund. He said we don't do that. He said we can bring you a different arrangement.
