arrived early for my wife's appointment and was told I could not go ino the building with her. it is 94 degrees out and they want me to wait in the car. my wife went in and she found two people in the building that had several people with them - even though it was ovious they did not need to help them. the on-line web site says you are set up for social distancing but says nothing about limiting who comes with you. my wife complained at the front desk and asked if I could come in out of the heat. she was told very rudly "no" - well DR. WISER you just lost two patients - and we were with you a long time but no more. your office does not care about the people that come there read more

I came in for an eye exam, which they did. They analyzed my current glasses and told me that I need new glasses; exactly why I came... I mentioned blurry vision so they decided to do one more test and Dr. Haft convinced me to have this test billed on my medical insurance rather than my vision (to save me money he claimed {ended up costing me $150}...) So 10 minutes later... no issues with my blurry vision. Ok... wait for it.... I asked to get the prescription for contact lenses, that was my reason for going there... Dr. Haft told me I had to come back to get an eye exam??? Obviously would never make an appointment with 'used cars salesman'... now this !@$# is tiring to bill me for an appointment I never made. This place is absolutely awful! Be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes before you're taken back from the lobby, not including the waits in between as you are ushered from one area to another. I've been to multiple locations 3 times within the past two months and the same experience. Today they were so backed up I had to cancel my appointment. This was despite being assured a "lunch appointment" was the way to go. The receptionist even shared that complaints are common and it's unfortunate for them as they are the face of the customer and delays are not their fault. read more

If you want tO be insulted by a egotistical dr. who didn't even go to a prestigious university go here. It was amazing to be insulted by a dime a dozen dr who doesn't even know or care to ask your educational background. Telling us we could not understand because he went to school and it's too complicated refractional physics etc. and he was too busy to explain it was actually besides insulting entertaining. Perhaps if they didn't schedule apps 5 minutes apart he might have time to slow down so you can hear his words. If you choose to go here I suggest you have your graduation papers with you or be prepared to be insulted. I am so grateful to have had Dr Ross preform my DCR surgery. I had a clogged tear duct that caused my eye to constantly water. We tried other options to no avail & surgery was a last resort. I felt Dr Ross took his time trying to correct it and didn't rush me in to surgery. Once I decided I was ready to do surgery, he was very clear about the procedure and it's risks. Dr Ross always made sure I understood exactly what was going on with my tear duct & exactly what he was doing to correct it. I never felt rushed or unsure about anything. He has a very special quality of connecting with his patients and making them feel comfortable. I feel like he genuinely cares about each and every individual. He is up front, thorough and very professional. Most importantly, my eye is 100% better!! I no longer have to deal with it constantly tearing. I was afraid the incision would be noticeable, but it looks great. I read a lot about the DCR surgery not working, but Dr Ross really knows what he is doing. So, I wasn't impressed when I first went to the Melbourne office. I was nervous. I was going to get a lasik consult. The front desk was rude, I heard them talking about the other patients. After 4 months of consult, even though my eyes were fine, I was considered too emotional because I was frustrated. Horrible staff. read more

I went to the Viera office for a second opinion on a problem I am having. The staff was pleasant but the wait to see the doctor was long. I saw Dr. Weiser who, apparently, did not take the time to read the information I had given to Melody, the very pleasant technician, and completely misunderstood my problem. Once he understood my issue his only recommendation was prescription glasses unless I wanted to undergo additional tests that I had already had and proved negative. He was dismissive and curt ... leaving the office while I was still trying to talk with him. I have only ever written one review and that was for excellence; but I was so disgusted with this futile 90 minute waste of time that I felt compelled to write this one. read more

Awful does not begin to describe this place of business. I came in with an emergency, I was not able to even open my eye without feeling extreme pain. I understood there would be a wait without an appointment, so roll to 1.5 hours later and I am finally seen. The ophthalmologist came in, took a brief look, told me I had a corneal abrasion, recommended a treatment and left. The check-out staff themselves were dismissive and rude. I returned later for a lasik evaluation to which I waited 45 minutes past me scheduled time due to overbooking. After waiting in the exam room for another 15 minutes, this young specialist came in in a hurry, saw my age, and immediately tried to rush me out the door after barely looking at my history. He was exceedingly unprofessional in his demeanor, did not let me pose any questions, and ran out under 5 minutes. After receiving another bill for a "new patient office visit" I was told to come back in 2 weeks at checkout for a final evaluation...FOR WHAT?! I went to another clinic and found out I had been misdiagnosed from the corneal abrasion as well, which led to the condition resurfacing from before. I would never recommend this place to anyone...actually, I would like the practitioners to have to go there when they are in need of emergency care, so they can get a "taste of their own medicine" at some point. I will say that the only redeeming quality here is the front desk staff at check-in. They are kind, respectful, empathetic, and put up with many of the complaints that come their way. read more

First, let me say that five of my family members have gone in the past. Other than taking FOREVER, never had a problem. That changed. I made an appointment for contact lense fitting and exam. I had to cancel the appointments twice and reschedule due to circumstances beyond my control...I was sent a nasty letter by the office manager telling me their policy was if you cancel, they don't want your business. Imagine that...I called left her a voice mail and she never had the decency to return my call. Therefore, they have lost all five of my family members and myself. I had actually been going to their Cocoa beach office for the last 4 years. First let me tell you that no eye doctor does your vision screening in that office. The tech does that. And in my experience not once did the actual Doctor ever check to make sure that screening was correct. This time they handed me my rx and I took it to get new glasses. when they came in i couldn't see 25 feet in front of me. Grass no longer was individual blades just a green and brown blur. My first thought was Lab screwed up. 3 pairs of glasses later I knew for sure not lab. Went to their office, they scanned the glasses and agreed they were made to prescription, but then claimed the lab had my progressives wrong so not their fault, no recheck. So now i am super frustrated, can't see and frankly they don't care. Long story short, had an exam with a different doctor, not only is the script completely different, not just a little bit COMPLETELY different, and now i can see. If you value your vision, I would stay away from Florida Eye Assoc. while i do understand human error... think about this. do you trust your vision to a tech???? because in the end that is the choice you are making when you go there. read more

Most disappointing. My elderly mother has a curved spine and has had a broken neck. Which prevents her for getting up to the eye test machines at Lenscrafters and Eye Glass world. Both said to go to Florida Eye and they could help. I spoke to Florida Eye prior and explained this and that she cannot get up to the equipment. They assured me they could help. We made an appointment and got her there which is not easy in the least, and the tried to get her up the the same equipment the other two were using. She could not. So....they said make an appointment with our specialist ($$$). We did. The so called specialist tried to get her up to the same equipment everyone else used!! Then said sorry. We can't help you any more. She spent 5 minutes at the most. They offered absolutely no alternative. This company is only about taking money and not helping, unless its easy for them and they can get you out in 15 minutes. read more

PATHETIC is the best word to discribe this total incompetent operation. Long delays on hold, incompetent people who schedule the wrong appointments with the wrong location and the wrong staff. They wasted at least 4 hours of my time, only to find out that they were not capable of fitting my 12 year old for contact lens. I too would give less than 1 star - On Dec 13 2011 I was in for "simple" laser procedure by Dr Hershberger. I had 20/40 vision in my right eye when I came in ... I was BLINDED by Hershberger when she injected my eye with the needle to numb it b4 procedure. Even after the blinding she had ZERO compassion for the error SHE made. She sent me 2 times to Bascom-Palmer in Miami to see if they could do anything to get sight back - Both Dr's (Dr Kulkani AND Lan) said irepairable optic nerve damage. Lan said he doubts it but lets try a 4 series steroid treatment and see if it will help. I came back to Melbourne and went to HRMC and had an MRI and 4 daily steroid treatments and another MRI -- it didn't help a bit- I'm BLIND in right eye now.. I found I had NO legal recourse as laws in Florida have changed to benefit doctors. As I was getting bills from Bascom-Palmer and HRMC for just under $7000 I went to Dr to see about Dr paying for these bills - I was scoffed at. I went to Florida Eye Associates manager T. Barker and was told -" We aren't here to pay patients medical bills " ....All I can say is -- Beware they can BLIND you and then tell you to kiss off !!! I was BLINDED at Florida Eye Associates 1 star is to much. I had just gotten my drivers license the month before my eye was fine for that. As a diabetic the tiny blood vessels in your eyes have a tendacy to :leak" I was going in ti have laser surgery to seal the ends of the leaking vessels,My eye pressure was 16 in the outer office minutes later the doctor gave me a shoot in the eye to numb it for the procedure. within 2 minutes the guide that was on my eye came off and the dr checked my eye pressure - it was 40 . Dr gave me eye drops to get pressure down and I waited outside the room almost an hiur and was called back and the dr did the laser job. I got home and my eye felt like it was going to pop out -so I called the facility and met the oncall Dr back at the facility - my eye pressure was 42. That Dr gave me drops AND pikks to take and told me to come back in the AM 1st thing. Upon coming into the Drs office the Dr never looked up and said "I dont know what could have happened - I've done thousands of these - but you signed the paper" OH boy !! The optic nerve was pink and didnt know why I couldnt see. Dr called and got me an appt with a Dr at Bascom-Palmer in Miami the next morning. I went to see Dr there who said I had :IRREPARABLE OPTIC NERVE DAMAGE" (I had waited 4 hours to see Dr I was to see but he was so busy he passed me to associate. -I had faith in his diagnosis as he was a teacher there at U of Miami) I come back to mebourne and saw this Dr 1st thing in the morning and the Dr saw the diagnisis and was inflamed that I didnt see the Dr they wanted me to see - on the phone- and anothrer trip to Miami - I saw Dr Lam and he concurred with his colleague that the optic nerve was shot but though he doubted it would do any good he suggested an MRI and 5 daily steroid shoots and another MRI to see if it would give me some sight back ---- NO I was blinded by the Drs injection. Dr Lam has that in his report. I signed papers alright - I couldnt get an attourny to do anything. I went to management to have THEM pay the $6.100 for the MRI's Steroid treatments at Ho;mes Regional Ned Ctr and Bascom-Palmer bills - I was told " We aren't here to pay patients medical bills. Nice Arrogance was more like it. Note : I saw the Better Business Bureau rates Florida Eye - "A" so I called to make a complaint as I found none on their site. The receptionist said she can mail me the forms or I can do it online but after they receive it they would mail me a paper to sign - makeing sure it was a legitimate complaint. -I did it online. - I waited 2 weeks and no reply so I called them back and was referred to a gentleman wjo informed me -- the BBB DOESN'T TAKE MEDICAL COMPLAINTS !! How can you rate them an "A" ? chewd on him and 2 people in Arlinton Va where the BBB is headquartered - Note : my state complaint that took 1 YEAR ended up with - WE FIND NO PROBABLE CAUSE TO TAKE ANY ACTION AGAINST THE DR CASE CLOSED !! I have been calling their office for over a week, and nobody ever answers. Nor does an answering machine. I have an emergency situation and now moving on to a new practice. The phone rings for minutes then you are hung up to a fast busy signal. Dr. Broussard who started the practice and now retired would be appalled. How can a business survive this way??? If I could leave zero stars, I would. Upon walking into the building for the first time, I was not greeted by anyone. Watching another customer I figured out that I needed to sign in to be helped. There were no employees anywhere to be found and I questioned whether the optical center was even opened. You know, this is Melbourne and many people don't work a 40 hour week, I've found. After waiting about 30 mintues with two antsy toddlers, we were finally called back. I asked the opticians if they carried Miraflex frames for children. I was looked at as if I had three heads. I repeated the question. Three heads. I brought my handicapped two year old over to the optical employees and showed them the Miraflex frames on her and said that those were what I needed. I had the model name and everything. I only needed them to place the order. They looked at me as if I had three heads and was speaking Chinese. Finally they told me that they had never heard of Miraflex frames that those were something very unusual. Hello? I'm not an OPTICIAN by trade and I had heard of them prior to having children. WTH? Sooo... as typical of Melbourne, they did not offer to order them or suggest a place that would sell them. I asked where I might be able to get the Miraflex frames and the optical employees had no idea at all. Bottom line...if you like the typical, "We don't have that and we don't care if you need it." attitude of that is so common in Melbourne then this is the place for you. If you actually care about respect, customer service, and people just being good humans by helping other humans (nevermind that it's their JOB) then you'll need to find another optical store.
