From the moment I walked in the door. The employees to travelers telling me was how unsafe the hospital was to how much hate, they had for their director. Adults crossing over to neonates back and forth. I was in shock but the hospital lived up to its reputation. Highest paying contract in Florida and most travelers left. Generally, no one leaves a good assignment at higher pay especially in Florida. I just woke up with a nightmare about that place. It's been months since I've worked there. I don't like leaving negative reviews but I also shouldn't be having nightmares months later

First I met Alexis at the breast center so they could insert a wire to help locate a tumor in one of my breasts. She was so good at explaining what was going on and making sure I was calm and had all my questions answered. Next came pre-op, and that team couldn't have been any sweeter! Nurse Cristina made sure I was always in the know about what was going on and that I was comfortable! Kudos to Ann who tried to track down my ridiculously deep veins! Shoutout to my surgeon Dr. Kimball who is not only wicked smart, but sweet too! Lastly, to the anesthesiologist team made up of two ladies, and two gentlemen, thank you so much for answering all my questions and putting my mind at ease. What a wonderful staff you all have!

I usually would go to Sarasota Memorial, Downtown, which I do for breast exams, etc. and rate them highly. I will not come back to SMH at University Parkway for a MRI. The person providing the MRI said he was at the end of his 7 hour shift. He was not dressed neatly in "uniform" of any kind, and smelled of BO. I first thought he was a maintenance person. He did not provide assistance in terms of how to negotiate the MRI bed, what to hold on to, etc. Very casual and not engaged in the process. Very unusual from positive experienced I have had with SMH downtown.

Ok no problem, but now they tell me I owe $1500 for his one hour cardiology appt!!!! They say I can be on a $215 per month payment plan. This shouldn't have happened in the first place. How does a doctor appt end up being a hospital copay just because they did an EKG and echo??? I would have never agreed if someone told me it would be 1500 copay. I can't even afford 200 a month. I'm on disability and barely have money to eat!!!! I'm commenting this everywhere I can to warn others. Don't trust what John Hopkins staff tells you when they estimate your copay!

I've done it dozens of times over the years. Apparently they don't take veterans as patients and refused to treat me.
