Well, I had my two-year-old kicking feet and pounding hands complaint to the personnel, who were all very gracious and tolerant. They really were very understanding and courteous despite my infantile behavior. Making it more ironic is the fact that I actually got in for a blood draw earlier than my anticipated appointment because it was not crowded that morning. I apologize again for my immature and silly behavior, but am appreciative that there were others around who behaved in a professional and welcoming manner. I arrived right at opening on a Friday morning for blood work and was immediately greeted by a welcoming, friendly, and accommodating staff member who kindly helped despite me forgetting my physical orders and only having photos. The office and restroom were very clean; while the sink is located outside the restroom, it was a minor detail given the short visit. The manager/owner was knowledgeable and attentive, taking the time to review my orders, prevent duplicate testing between providers, and ensure the most affordable self-pay pricing. As someone who is notoriously a difficult blood draw, I was especially impressed that the technician successfully drew my blood on the first attempt--something that almost never happens. Overall, this was a smooth, professional, and reassuring experience from start to finish.

While I noticed this location had some negative reviews, I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt--sometimes reviews can be misleading. Unfortunately, my experience here did nothing to ease my anxiety. I always try to do my part by staying well-hydrated before appointments to make the process smoother, especially since my veins are hard to find. The phlebotomist I saw didn't come across as particularly friendly or confident. From the moment she examined my arm, I had a gut feeling things weren't going to go well--and I was right. She missed on the first try, and I had to be poked again in the other arm. Not only did I leave feeling lightheaded and sick, but I also left with two bruised arms and a lingering sense of frustration. I went to this Labcorps yesterday as a walk in because I have always walked in unaware of an appt…read moreprocess and now I've made an appt elsewhere today at a different Labcorps. After waiting for nearly an hour and a half, I knocked on the door after fasting and it was close to 10:30 am. I explained I was going into adrenal crisis and am dependent upon my medicine to stay alive or my organs shut down. It's fatal. So, I said I could leave and go somewhere else, was reassured I only had two ahead of me and dropped again to bottom of list with 10 ahead of me, quickly having a medical emergency. I'm definitely paying for it today medically. Maybe just assess the situation better or understand the bigger picture or just say make an appt or don't come at all. We don't know what we don't know. I could have died waiting and I'm a stranger so no one would have known what adrenal insufficiency means or to have given me my emergency shot. 5 kids without a mom and a widowed husband. I never get back to my mountains and die among strangers in a state that isn't mine that I'm just visiting.
