The other one took both my dogs at the same time and was done with them within an hour, never introduced herself, didn't ask any questions about temperament or allergies. Flavia did all of that, attended to one dog at a time and spent 45 minutes with each. She was very attentive to their needs and they came back with big happy smiles. My family and I have been taking our furry loved ones to Dr. Meyerer for over 30 years. Dr. M and…read morehis staff is always friendly, funny, knowledgeable and always answer any questions we have had. Over the decades we have taken 8 of our pets (7 dogs; 1 cat) for preventative care, yearly/bi-yearly shots, boarding, dental work, surgeries and/or euthanasia & cremation. When we board our pets they always greet us happy and healthy. I personally prefer to board with a vets office over regular boarding facilities because I feel just in case there is an emergency Dr. M will be there (or can be called) for any problems that may arise. As far as boarding pricing, it's a bit more expensive than others in town - $30/night for 13lbs terrier mix and if you board for 3 or more days their policy is to have your dog bathed; additional $24. They also charge for influenza vaccine if your canine hasn't had the vaccination. As far as surgery pricing it has been cheaper than other vet quotes & surgery went as planned. Same goes for dental care/cleaning. They have always treated my pets like their own. They do stay open until 5:45pm which makes it easier when/if you work until 5pm. I do wish they would add limited Saturday or weekend hours so I don't have to board my pet an extra day or two if just going out of town through Fri/Sat, you have to wait until Mom to pick up your furry friend. Nevertheless we will continue to bring our pets here.

They were recommended to us by two girls that worked with my husband and had cats as well as dogs. I brought 2 cats with us and have had another 6 to date. All treated by Youngs and most lived to 14-19 years in good health thanks to their excellent care by Young's many vets and techs. I have never seen or heard of an animal ignored or handled roughly by anyone. I have seen them do in-take, rehab and re-home for people wanting to just "get rid of it" for no reason other then the people's own stupidity or for animals where the owner has passed away and they need a new fur-ever home. I know this firsthand since I am one of those who adopted a beautiful year-old Rag Doll in deplorable condition when she arrived at Young's and they did an intake, rehab and re-home for her into my fur-ever home and 1 cat family. I have had to put 5 cats to sleep there and am about to lose my 6th who is 19. Fur-babies they take care of are like family, and they hurt and cry along with us when we loose one. I have gotten cards and even flowers from Youngs upon the loss of a pet they have cared for. Appointments are needed for most items which is good for everyone. We can schedule and not have to wait; they can give the time needed to each animal and owner. The Vets, Tecs and front staff are very helpful, and knowledgeable. I only had one problem in all my time with Youngs. At that time I had to board my Himalayan cat for a few days; the girl taking care of that area at that time was not good, friendly or invested. She projected the feeling that it was just a job to her and one she didn't like, nor did she like animals or people for that matter. They no longer have her nor do they board. They are very careful and caring with animals and helpful to owners. They use extra special care when animals get older, become infirmed and at the time of euthanasia. I had one of my kitties die at home the night before she was due to go in for euthanasia; I simply took her down to Youngs the next day without an appointment and they handled the cremation without problems and the intake with care and concern for me. Youngs may be said to be expensive, however, in checking around they are no more than most of the Vets here in town. They have a Thrift Plan for 17.99 a month with a company that pays for check-ups and other in-house items. I usually save more then that on a visit. If you are working with a Senior Pet this plan is great and usually pays for itself. They also have a lot of services and abilities most Vets here do not have. They have contacts with specialists if they feel they do not have the ability or equipment to handle the situation properly. I especially like that they are close and will take you in at once if there is an emergency, no waiting no appointments probably no phone call, just get there. I personally was there when a couple ran in late one day with a dog that was rattlesnake bit, twice. Youngs took them in at once; the dog lived due to their fast action and care. I have always had good care and excellent vets at Youngs. I am told that their new just starting young vets work under the experienced ones for a time and are supervised. At one time they had a Vet, Dr Harry Pressor, who is now deceased. That man was fantastic!!. For me he was a jewel as well since he was a cat man. He also was a blood and exotic pets' specialist. I just wish we still had him. I do not know if at my age, 91, I will get another fur-baby after my 19-year old is gone. However, I know if I do they will be under Youngs care. I would not take my fur-babies, cat, dog, rabbit, bird, lizard or other anywhere else. I will and have suggested them to many people and will continue to do so..

First of all let me start by saying if I could put a negative star on here I would. I am so…read moredisappointed and upset with this place. My poor dog, a French bulldog, who has been diagnosed with bladder stones and this establishment knew it never really helped her problem. But they help take my money but having me do three separate urine tests for my dog. The first one I got myself when they handed me the container and then had the nerve to call me the next day and tell me they couldn't use it just so they can get another $200 and something dollars out of me. So after going there three times for those tests and her being on a UTI medication and then medication for sepsis I called them up and told them I would not be going there anymore. Instead I went to sunrise animal hospital and they have a wonderful caring compassionate not overpriced new veterinarian. She found the problem in 20 minutes, my dog had a bladder stone the size of a golf ball and that's why she was having issues. We almost put our dog down now we paid for operation and she's healing now I am trying my best to get all my animal friends that know me that go to Young's to stop and go to the new veterinarian sunrise Animal Hospital. I wish I could get my money back they really did milk me.

He would pull when walking bark at every dog in his sight and show aggression when he was around other dogs. I avoided going to a little dog park because I was afraid of what he might do and other people were afraid. If I did not have everything picked up off the floor, he would quickly put it in his mouth and start chewing, I can't tell you how many pair of shoes I lost. Under this misbehavior was the cutest little face and loving spirit, but he was a lot of work to try to train myself!! Lily is our little white ball of fluff. She is very quiet most of the day, but she does not listen to the come command and when let outside by mistake, she would bolt and I would have to go running after her. My husband and I are both seniors and we feel having animals is a must, but also our responsibility to make sure they are well behaved! We chose Superior K9 Academy as our choice. Claire was our trainer and kept the dogs for two weeks! I told her we were having problems with behavior and she addressed them! The daily videos and long messages about what she did during the day were very helpful and we looked forward to seeing them. Two weeks past and we just picked up Lily and Bentley on Monday. I have to say they are changed animals!!! Now when I call Lily she comes and Bentley is working really hard to be and do everything we ask. I took him for a walk this morning and he never pulled once when I ask him to sit he sits when I ask them to lay down and stay there until I say break they do, We look forward to company and sharing our new trained fur babies. We love them very much and now we feel we are one big happy family thank you Claire for all your hard work.
