Highly regret using this company and don't recommend them to anyone and here's why. Not a fan of long reviews, but you'll be glad you read it. As a business major, there was just too much to list.
Had Forida Lawn Guys do a complete yard redo...or attempt to, I should say. This included tear out and haul away of grass and excess soil, grading, french drain and irrigation installation, and new sod installation. Out of those, the only one done even remotely well, was the irrigation system. The rest was done very poorly, cheaply, and incompetently, in ways that did and will likely cause future issues. Even hit and cut my FiOS internet cable 3 different times.
The grading was incomplete and done very poorly, and the French drains were installed poorly, cheaply, and improperly. There were also several parts of the job that were not completed as promised, including not performing a final grade of the yard before the sod was laid, not fixing multiple spots in the yard which caused pooling/flooding.
Worst of all by far, was the sod, along with the installation and recommended maintenance of it. Absolutely no knowledge in identifying bad sod upon receipt, installing it, and watering it. The sod was bad from the time it got loaded on the truck, sat for far too long making it beyond too dried out, was filled with weeds before being laid down, and was installed poorly and incorrectly. All of this was verified by several professional second-opinions. They all also concluded, that it was mostly dead and far beyond any sort of help. The owner even finally came out after several weeks of requesting and highly agreed, saying that he would replace it whether the sod company covered the cost or not.
He then went back on his word the very next day, and tried to say that he and the sod company recommended that it be fertilized and that it would be fine within six weeks. Which was very clearly incorrect and a lie that would be realized by anyone. Just to confirm that, I had fertilization companies come out who absolutely refused to fertilize the sod as they were also aware that it was bad from the start, mostly dead, and far beyond help. Along with the same findings that the other professionals found. His only poor excuse he could come up with for the incompetence, is the obvious and extremely well known fact that sod is not guaranteed or warrantied. As an ethical business of any trade, you still have the obligation and expectation to deliver/use products that aren't already bad and competently perform the services you say you provide. Especially, when that is what's agreed upon, promised, and being paid for.
I do not recommend this company to anyone for anything whatsoever. This company is lacking in all categories and is very unprofessional, unethical, unorganized, dishonest, extremely uncommunicative, disrespectful, horrible customer service, not a care about satisfaction, incompetent in their trade, greatly overcharges, and is quite concerned about receiving a check over anything else. Also, extremely unpunctual by showing up at random and simply not showing up many other days when "scheduled." Save your money and yard by going with a company that charges reasonably, knows their trade, and how to properly run a business in general. read more
