Good communications, showing up on time, provided options and a very smooth replacement of an older (circa 1980!) system. probably most important was their clean-up activities following the install. like it was always there to begin with. Quality excellent, Technicians excellent, Value and pricing poor. It is apparent to me that they don't need more business and because of that charge very high prices for their services. They charge a ridiculously high $120/bi-monthly optional service fee just to check the system and clean the filter. They told me this optional fee also guarantees us fast service ahead of those that don't pay the bi-monthly fee. This bi-monthly fee just jumped from $70 to $120 - that's a 71% increase! So disappointed in Hostetler - good work, but unprincipled pricing. read more

They do good work, but you'll pay for it...and some. I think they just do not need your business nor mine, so they charge premium prices.

$125 for 10 min on premise and did absolutely nothing. Had t them come out to see if there was a leak in my irrigation system. All they did was turn off the backflow for two minutes and said nothing was leaking.Slow leaks Don't show up in two minutes. Won't use them again. read more

The service is fantastic but the pricing is absolutely ridiculous. Call someone else! $978 for them to do a once over on our system, they replaced a few heads, and added 2 new spots. The "service fee" alone was $300. read more

Our call was returned promptly when we left a message requesting service at our house for routine maintenance of our irrigation system and some minor repairs. Chino and associate arrived right on time in their 12 to 2 window, were polite and courteous, as well as responsive to our concerns. They checked in upon arriving and again to explain what needed to be done to fix the minor problem, and didn't even need to be asked to replace the cement donuts around any heads that were missing them. We've used them several times in the past and have always had the same consistent service. read more

I accepted their bid to install a well and also accepted their timing of mid June to have the job done then got an email from them stating that John Butts of Siesta Key Landscape was a good friend and they didn't realize they were bidding against him and that they were super busy. (2 1/2 wks out is not super busy and I was fine with that. They advised that I should have the whole job done by Siesta Key Landscape. (tree removal, well, irrigation, sod). So.... they don't work in their clients best interest but in the best interest of other companies that sub out work to them. read more

I had Hostetler Irrigation come out to inspect, repair and make recommendations for my sprinkler system, which I had never felt covered my lawn completely and after having several companies work on it, it never improved. Hosteltler diaganosed the problem, not enough water pressure to cover the area that needed to be watered, advised what needed to be changed and after having the county increase the meter from 3/4 inch to 1" and then having my plumbing service make similiar adjustments to my backflow, I was able to get Hostetler back out the very next day. They were very professional, very thorough and when they were done, I was thoroughly impressed and pleased with the coverage, which was absolute over my entire lawn and I was equally impressed with Hostetler's concern that I was completely satisfied. They did a great job. read more

Beware Hostetler Irrigation Company. I first hired them when I was having new sod installed and I wanted to ensure that my sprinkler system provided full coverage. Two workers came out and went over everything and replaced a few heads. After my sod was installed it was discovered there were two small areas where two of the sprinkler heads were not reaching all the grass. Time was important to get this repaired due to new lawn, and I was unable to meet them when they came out. The following day they were here I discovered they had not turned the backyard valve on so I was unable to water till they came out three days later. I was shocked when I received a $599.87 bill. They had replaced 11 sprinklers when they came out that second time. I was under the assumption there were only two heads that needed replacing as I had already paid them $261.55 for the first visit and the replaced heads. At the very least they should have called to let me know they were planning on $600 worth of work. After discussing the bill, Mrs. Hostetler agreed to reduce the bill by $60.00! I will never use this company again. read more

After what has to have been 8 or 9 trips to our new (new to us) house, the Hostetler crew has been phenomenal. The foremen who have supervised the work being done on our 1987 sprinkler system have been so Sharp! Excellent experience, no attempt to sell something we didn't need and extremely good work. They repaired the system, then they moved part of it for the pool cage expansion, then they added a new zone, months later added another new zone. We got a larger wifi enabled control box with 16 zones and the foreman knew exactly how to program it and add our extra zones + train me on using the app. More recently they buried 6" pvc pipes in the yard, under sidewalks, and ran the pvc 75 ft in some cases from each of the numerous downspouts on our house to divert water away from our house. Excellent work. A few weeks later now and everything works very well. A couple weeks ago I found out Hostetler does outdoor landscape lighting. I was a bit apprehensive, but the lighting guy came out in my absence & looked around and we discussed by phone. He put a pro-forma quote together & I was amazed. The quote was $2500 less than a high quality local electrician. Next time the lighting guy came back out he could not have been more professional. We revised the plan slightly and are scheduled for installation in a week. I would be very hard pressed to work for a more professional company than Hostetler irrigation. Employees are all very courteous and extremely hard working. Foremen have done such thoughtful work & took time to explain why some of my ideas needed a bit of modification. I recently had the good fortune to speak with the owner, Martha. What a pleasure! Totally customer-centric. You'd be hard pressed to find a better company anywhere. BTW, this is the 3rd irrigation company we have used after we had to run the first two off as one was clearly involved in substance abuse & the other was an even worse experience! Also - I have no dog in this hunt and don't know the owners etc... it's just so refreshing to work with good people for a change! read more
