I left after a few visits because I saw the therapists being rude and indifferent with older patients. Because I am the kind of person who likes to see goodness in the world, I won't give my business to people who are nasty, or rude, or ageist. When you first walk in to ATC, you will know that is is different from other places. The front desk people are friendly and helpful, and they know you by name. I have seen them chat with people waiting for rides, and help people in wheelchairs in and out of the doors. They always have a smile and accommodate your scheduling needs without frustration. In the therapy area, which is big, and well-lit, and pleasant and modern, they have happy, upbeat music playing, you will see all sorts of rehab going on, from sports to geriatric, to pre-and post-joint replacement. Their patients are of a wide range of age and capability. It is wonderful to see the therapists treat all of their patients as if they, and their physical issues, are very important. They are especially kind to older patients, which warmed my heart to see. Wendy, the owner, is that special kind of person who is warm, genuinely caring, always remembers your name, even if you aren't her direct patient. She has the right balance between friendliness and chattiness and brilliant professionalism. She makes people want to go there. I believe that, to her, her patients are not just a paycheck....she REALLY cares. Alex, who was my primary therapist, is a genius. He got to the bottom of my shoulder injury, even better than my surgeon did, and the rehab he designed for me has helped regain flexibility that I haven't had in a number of years. He has a clinical doctorate, which in my understanding, is the physical therapy equivalent of an MD, so he is not just some guy putting you through a generic list of exercises. He knew how hard to push me, and when I hit a little wall some weeks into it, he figured out some muscular stuff that needed attention and we addressed it. His is gifted at stretching, and overall, my PT experience was better than I could have imagined. If you are looking for physical therapy for yourself or for a loved one, please believe me when I say this is the place to go.

I signed in and was immediately greeted by someone who had me sit with them and go over all the jargon and insurance stuff. He was very nice and explained everything well. Agustin Ortiz did my PT eval today and I appreciated his knowledge and approach to teaching me about what was going on with my knees and what the plan of action was going to be. SELECT Physical Therapy of Plantation has the worst management and personnel for booking!…read moreI've been going there for O.T. with Noreen and everything was going great accept with booking. A few weeks into my O.T. sessions, Sandy, who works the front desk stops on my way out and hands me some documents to give to my doctor for signatures so they can get paid. She demanded that I go that same day to get these signatures. I told her that's not possible for me to drive 20 miles round trip on that day. I told her that I will call them, but she insisted that I drive there instead. I said I will make a call which I did, and the paperwork was signed that day and sent back to Select PT. I started my first PT session with someone called Patrick. Immediately I noticed something odd about him. He seemed like someone with no soul and lacked communication skills. No introduction but get on with the session. He would only look at his laptop while giving me directions on what's next. Creepy!!!. A few days later, my next sessions was with Christopher. He is the total opposite of Patrick. Chris was great to work with. He introduced himself with a smile and a plan on how he was going to help me. I immediately connected with him and, I can see that he had the communication skills necessary to work with me and other people like me, that are suffering form chronic pain. He made me feel comfortable. I asked Chris if he can be my PT coach because I didn't like Patrick's demeanor. In fact I had to ask Chris what Patrick's name was. That's how bad the session went with Patrick! I was a few weeks into my PT with Chris and I was anxious to get there, the travel was about 12 miles. As I entered the office I was stopped by Sandy while she's talking to the bookkeeper again about additional documents that had not been signed by my doctor. In the back room I hear this lady say that she had sent the documents a few times and again, no one there ever called me about this issue. Moving on, Sandy called Chris to the front desk to start my PT for that day, as I was lead back to the PT room Chris was called back to the front desk. As he was coming back from the front desk he tells me that Patrick had to do an evaluation on me. Evaluation? I was confused. Patrick approaches me with his laptop that he's always staring into and proceeds to tell me that they could not do my Physical Therapy today and that I had to leave the premises. At first I was shocked on the way I was treated. Before this happened, I had told them that I would get the paperwork signed from my doctor and that I would follow up just as the first time this had happened. Well, I felt like I was being punished for something that no one brought to my attention earlier and all this could nonsense could have been avoided and I could of proceeded with my PT. I'm coming here for chronic pain therapy but, instead, I'm being punished do to the lack of their communication with me. I had called back Sandy the same day after I left to tell her that I spoke with the doctors office and that they had signed the documents and sent them back. Sandy said she'll get back to me to verify they got it. I didn't hear from Sandy, so the next day I called and I asked her if they got the signed documents. She still couldn't verify it, she was only concerned if I was coming in for my March 31, visit. I said to her, Why should my PT be interrupted for the lack of the bookkeepers job? She replied, "Well we are to busy to call everyone" So I replied back, "Select PT is a is a big corporation with multiple offices and that my PT session should not have been interrupted by a poorly managed group or just a lazy bookkeeper! I'm going to get in touch with Select PT HR department and make sure they are aware of this. Sandy tells me that we'll see me on the next visit. I Replied: "Are you kidding? I refuse to drive 12 miles, looking forward for some healing of my chronic pain issue not knowing if I'm going to be to be turned away for my session when I arrive. I find this extremely poor management, disrespectful and disgraceful conduct of you Sandy, the Bookkeeper and Patrick! I cancelled all my future appointments!

I use to attend UMH in Miami and it was a hassle. While I do understand the volume of patients they get must make everyone's job more difficult. The annoying parking, long waits and IMPOSSIBLE appointments made it very difficult to get follow ups. It was just not something I can do long term. While I did not have a negative experience in Miami ( everyone was friendly and had great service ), I would choose this facility. It is just easier. Plantation was easy parking, friendly staff and great service! Appointments are much easier. If you have the choice of seeing your doctor here instead of the one in Miami, I would pick here. I know not everyone has that choice, but if you are available to have the option.

My pain always returns sometimes taking my breath away. Level 8 pain is excruciating and debilitating. Several years ago it was recommended that I meet with Dr Chad Frank. My friend was confident Dr Frank could offer relief from my suffering. I knew nothing about Osteopathic treatment but took the advice and made the appointment. My experience with the Non-Surgical Center for Physical and Sports Medicine Center has been wonderful. The waiting room never has more than one or two patients because the staff understand the value of patients time. It's a wonderful thing to be treated courteously by office staff. Dr Chad Frank has been able to relieve my back pain which allows me greater range of motion. I know that when my back "goes out" I can trust that Dr Frank will be there to help. I have practically crawled into the center at times because when my back acts up the pain is intense. After just one visit I realize significant relief from my agony. I have not used drugs or injections as part of my treatment with Dr Frank. I know it's an option, but I have not needed to do so. I feel blessed and grateful for Dr Chad Frank. Dennis is extremely talented and efficient, so he can accomplish a lot in an hour session. The work he does with jaw (TMJ issues), head, and neck really helped me a lot. Dennis is a trainer, teacher, and expert in this field. In addition to his massage, Dennis does NLP (Neuro Linguisic Programming), which can be helpful as well. Dennis is one of the most dynamic and interesting people I've ever met, so every session I've had with him has been fun. I used to see him only when I was in town visiting my grandparents (who sadly no longer grace the earth) so I don't get occasion to visit Fort Lauderdale anymore. If I ever make it back there, I will try to get in with him again. I don't usually see male massage therapists, but I always felt at ease with him (and he gives his female clients tube tops and jogging shorts, so that he can get to all the important muscles without any discomfort). My husband and dad both had sessions with Dennis as well, and they also thought very highly of his work and had follow-up appointments. Dennis gave my husband and me different excercises to do that were very specific for our unique patterns. He's excellent, insightful, and I only wish he worked closer to where we live!
