The pain would be intolerable, I would take a pill and the pain would slowly fad but even then, be so uncomfortable I would sit on my hands or put them under my arms is traveling. I do not think it reduced the pain but was more like sucking my thumb. Eventually I had to up my medication and because our government got into the pain business, I had to go to a pain specialist as my family practice doctor could not prescribe more than two pills a day. To give you a feel for my reaction to Hydrocodone It deadens the pain but does not give me any feeling of being high or like a happy pill. Just does it pain job, That's It. No fun pain pills. So, they send me to Dr. Kirit Bhalani. He assessed my pain and sent me for testing at my neurologist and as the pain got worse pushed my meds to three pills a day and allowed for a fourth pill for extreme day which were many. There were days when I just laid on my hands in bed and prayed for sleep of some relief. The fourth pill helped and made me feel life was worth living and that I could live normally and be relatively pain free. He discussed options and I opted for a spinal injection to block the nerve pain. Unfortunately, this did not work, and my neurology office suggested a regimen of Lyrica. Dr Bhalani agreed and decided my Lyrica could be changed from 100mg x 3 to 150mg x 3. I can not tell you how glad I am to have found this wonderful doctor.

No patient should have to deal with this level of disorganization. When I finally got in, I didn't even see a doctor -- only a nurse practitioner who showed little to no interest in getting to know her patient. At the first visit, there were no meaningful questions about my health history or the reason for my visit. The only thing that came out of that appointment was a prescription for blood work -- no discussion, no concern, no follow-up. At my second visit, when we went over the blood work, things got even worse. The nurse practitioner walked in reading her iPad, clearly looking at my results for the first time -- even though they'd had them for over two weeks. She hadn't reviewed anything beforehand, didn't ask questions, didn't explain much of anything. Her only advice was, "Don't eat red meat or sugar." When I replied that I don't eat red meat, she had nothing more to say. Then she added, "Oh, and avoid eggs and cheese." I told her I don't eat much dairy because my system can't handle it -- again, no questions, no curiosity, no concern. When I asked, "Then why wasn't I asked for my medical records? How can you treat someone if you don't know their history?" I was told they didn't have access to them -- and that was it. When I mentioned I have autoimmune issues, I was told, "We don't deal in that," and the conversation ended there. That's when I got up and walked out. I didn't even get to address the issues I came in for. This was one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had -- no professionalism, no compassion, and no real medical care. I will never go back to this place and would not recommend it to anyone looking for genuine healthcare or a provider who actually listens.
