I had a stroke, I lost my short term memory. I needed help, I was given an appointment at Health…read moreFirst. My problem was they had let go all but one therapist for memory issues. I have a medication I have to take for my stage 4 cancer that Can Not be doubled up. I couldn't even remember if I had brushed my teeth after putting my brush away. I'd been sent to an Occupational therapist another therapist for motor skills, I was fine with all that, LUCKY, But.. not so lucky. Then several months after the stroke a therapist told me, what you need is Speech therapy! I was able to talk, there was nothing wrong with my speech, but what I found out then was memory issues was a part of Speech therapy. I'm so thankful that this therapist who could not help me herself, referred me to Surfside. My therapist Megan Muir was so patient and kind. And not just with me, in her waiting room I was able to witness her kindness & patience with other patients that had lost their ability to speak. I was frustrated, scared I would overdose, exasperated with myself, Megan's calming attitude made me less upset with myself, and helped me learn tricks to cope, while reassuring me, you brain can be very resourceful at rewiring and to be patient with myself. She sat and listened to my concerns and helped to come up with work arounds that truly worked for me. In less than 20 visits I went from not being able to remember more than 2 out of 5 words to remembering all of the words she had given me earlier. I make lists now and check the things off as I get them done. It may seem like common sense, but when you can't even remember if you Just brushed your teeth, having someone calmly say, just Feel the Bristles are they wet? Your brain had a huge injury, You Just need to know, Did I Brush my teeth already! To have a person who without judgement will help you deal with little things while your brain has a chance to heal is Huge. Whether your Beachside or Mainland, Surfside is easy to get to just south of the 404 bridges, parking lot, and I hope you have as wonderful an experience as I did. Because yesterday I passed my testing with 100 percent! Don't be frustrated with long waits to get help, there is a great facility right here. Thanks again Surfside.

My sons PCP called me today notify me that they had still not received the paperwork from this office which was supposed to be send out since May 6 and that they tried calling them to have them faxed over for his results. They stated they told the front desk lady and she told them that they weren't not on the release form and she was not going to fax any paper to them. So I said I will give them a call cause I did 100% had them down on the release form to have that information sent to them. I called and susan pick up the the phone which I told her what was going on and she said they're wasn't anything she could do until Tuesday cause they was nobody there to fix that situation. Which I said you going to have to do something cause this information was supposed to be out already for his appointment today and I did have them on the release form And I need this taken care of now .. which she hung up on me.. I had to call back three times and got a hold of the manger: owner which found all of my sons charts and information with the release form also which had his pcp on file in less than 1 min. And was able to fax that over also. So why is this lady lying not just to one person but to my sons PCP and to me stating she couldn't help us..their was nobody at the office available to fix this situation which that manager / owner was present at that time. and that they were not on file which they clearly are!!! I went to the location to hold her accountable for her actions and when I arrived at the location the owner was at the front desk and was told he sent the her home for rest of the day due to this incident. And he was going to investigate what had happened and give the proper action to this situation and will notify me in 24 hr... false promise I could possibly bet on. SO BEWARE OF THIS HALF ASS WORKER THAT LIKE TO HANG UP ON YOU AND TELL LIES. !!! I will also be report this to the BBB.

Thankful we got a referral to Beckman & Associates for our baby. Our baby was having some motor…read moreskill struggles with feedings. Debra Beckman was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I felt that our baby was being handled with care. We were given clear directions and were even allowed to record the session! The office was very clean & they even offered complimentary coffee/tea/flavored water, etc. The price was very reasonable, and I felt we got our money's worth out of the appointment. It felt like a genuine experience and I'm thankful for direction on how we can help our baby at home with exercises.

My baby was eight days old when we visited Dr. Beckman. He did not have a consistent latch and was…read morestarting to lose weight. Thus, we started to bottle feed with donor milk. I was very concerned that he would not Want me after receiving a bottle. Dr. Beckman was cheerful, humble, knowledgeable and very positive that 1) baby was born knowing how to latch on to me...we just needed to remind him. And 2) baby should have no problem switching back-and-forth between nipple and bottle it was just a matter of strengthening the muscles that were weak. That was such a relief for a first time mommy. She went though a series of simple tests and gave us exercises to practice. Three days later he had his first decent latch. And ever since then it's been getting better and more consistent with longer stretches of time. We are not even two weeks since our visit with Dr. Beckman and today we've done more breast-feeding than pumping! Dr. Beckman and associates are professional, friendly, and prompt. Her process is backed by science and research, and carried out with kindness and compassion. I would highly recommend this office. Baby and I are forever grateful.
