Extremely disappointing and concerning experience. A solicitor from Florida Tree Masters came to my home in Ponte Vedra and immediately raised red flags. He was walking door-to-door on our street with no company vehicle, truck, or clearly marked equipment visible anywhere nearby. During the conversation, he repeatedly referenced vague "concerns" about trees on my property but would not clearly explain what those concerns were or provide any meaningful details. When I attempted to end the conversation, he did not seem to take the hint and continued pressing the issue. What I found particularly unsettling was his repeated emphasis that he would be back on our street and in our neighborhood frequently because of the amount of work he claimed to have nearby. The tone felt more looming than reassuring. After he left, I looked more closely at his business card and realized the company was Florida Tree Masters, not Tree Masters, the well-known and reputable company many homeowners in this area are familiar with. Given the similarity in names, I can easily see how residents could assume the two companies are related when they are not. What slimey and deceptive business practices to add "Florida" in front of the name of a well-established and reputable company. Shame on them!! I think it's terrible that they are potentially damaging the reputation of the real, valid company with these solicitation attempts. Concerned by the interaction, I contacted the actual Tree Masters company for a second opinion. They responded promptly, performed a professional assessment of my trees, and assured me there were no issues requiring attention. The difference in professionalism, transparency, and expertise was night and day. I've since learned that our HOA is familiar with complaints regarding solicitation activity from this company. As for me, the REAL Tree Masters earned my trust through professionalism and honesty. They are the only tree service company I would consider hiring. read more

I contacted Florida Tree Masters after learning they were doing work in our area. Jason quickly replied and came out a couple of days later to provide a quote for the work we wanted done (removal of 40' + palm leaning very close to the house and trimming of the other palms on our property, about 9;trees). after reviewing the quote which included hauling away the tree that was taken down we let Jason know that we wanted to accept the quote and arrange for the work to be done. the next morning Jason contacted me to let me know they could complete the work that day. I let him know that I was at work and wouldn't be able to come home and get payment to him that day. He said this wasn't a problem and that I could leave a check under the mat the following day and he would come by to pick it up. They completed the job that day and left the property in great condition! I left payment under the mat as we had agreed and he picked it up the next day. We are so happy with the work they did. Whether or not you agree with the "knock on your door" approach (they did send out a mailer a few days before) or their lack of masks (I could always wear one), these guys did a great job for me in Saint Augustine. They kept to the estimate (even did a little extra) so there were no surprises. The scope of the work they did was fairly simple--they removed branches from the neighbors trees that were impinging upon my trees and property. Adam (the arborist) gave me the estimate a few days prior and he was onsite to supervise the crew. He personally followed up with me to insure the job was competed to my satisfaction. I read some of the older reviews after I hired them and was a little concerned. I was pleasantly surprised, though, by the quality of their work. From the estimate to clean-up, everything was great. Very professional with good processes. They even sent me a certificate of insurance. We had a large live oak removed and 4 others trimmed; Florida's Tree Masters did a fantastic job. James and his crew were very professional; they did what they said they would when they said they would. The clean-up was great, and it looked better when they left than when they arrived. The price was fair, not the lowest but not the highest. We got our money's worth, for sure. We will definitely use them again. read more

I received a flyer in the mail from Florida's Tree Masters on July 1, 2020. I called them immediately and inquired about some tree trimming. The receptionist stated that a salesman would call me back in approximately 20 minutes. Twenty-five minutes later I received a call from Christian who stated that he would come by my house in about an hour (4:30 p.m.) to give me an estimate. I waited for him to arrive but he never showed up and never called to let me know why he failed to show up. I would not recommend them for any tree removal or tree trimming based on their poor dependability! If you do hire them it is my recommendation to not pay them until the work has been completed. read more

We just (yesterday) had them cut our trees. The company was "Florida's Tree Masters". Josh was the salesman. And yes, he solicited us via "door to door". We could not be happier with the job and price they did. He did not try to up sell us or sell us based on conditions of the trees etc etc. The work and the clean up was 100% as promised and the price stayed the same. And I would say they saved us $500-$2000 from what others would have wanted. And this is based on previous tree work we have had done. I've had several tree service companies work on our property and Florida Tree Masters are the best. From the initial contact with Dereck and Josh to their tree climbing team lead by Chris (a fourth generation tree climber) is top notch, and their support team is very open to working with you on limiting any damage to the property. They actually damaged my neighbors chain link face on the last cut and Jason ran to Loews bought the piping and repaired it. These people need to be reported to the authorities considering the other reviews. They repeatedly do door-to-door soliciting in no soliciting neighborhoods. They obviously have no consideration for residents or the law. Consider that if you're thinking about hiring them and think about the consideration they'll probably have for your property (as evidenced by these reviews). We've lived in the neighborhood since 2007 and have never had such fairly priced, meticulous, and professional tree service performed. These people are great. David and his men are hard workers. They were professional and efficient. They removed a huge tree between my house and my neighbor . David had to get a crane to remove the tree which have to come over our houses and there were no problems. It was a difficult job because the fence had grown into the tree. He found a way to cut down the stump and grind it . I would recommend this company to anyone they will do a good job for you. read more

Had to get some tree work done on my property before I sold my house and these guys did a fantastic job. They removed a couple pine trees and saved my old oak tree in the back yard. Florid Tree Masters removed one tree and treated another. I am very pleased with the results. They were very professional polite and knowledgeable of what they were doing.Speaking to the arborist he explained in terms I could understand and what I should watch for.
