On the outside it just looks like a random house in a plaza of restaurants and other businesses. It's super clean and tidy. The ambiance is so relaxing. All staff members are very professional and pleasant. I had to fill out a form about my health history, areas of concern and discussed with Rebecca that I'd like my upper back, shoulders and neck to get extra attention. I wanted my lower back to be avoided due to an annular tear in L4 and to focus on my right trocanter because of my sciatica. Unfortunately, as much as she agreed and acknowledged my request, none of it was followed through. I did tell her I prefer a harder pressure versus a Swedish massage and was never asked if pressure was okay. Other than that, I had an overall good experience.

I booked a massage online using their system and received a confirmation of my booking after I placed my credit card. When I arrived (40 minute drive from my home), there was no available therapist. I was told that the spa was changing online booking systems and that they were sorry and that the therapist was probably sick. They did try to call to find someone last minute and offered me a 50% discount on my next massage which was very generous. So, I tried again to book a service the next day, received a confirmation and decided to call the number online to double confirm so as not to end up in the same situation. I did so 2 days in a row and even sent a text via a chatbot and never heard back. I decided to try calling the chatbot number and someone answered. She confirmed my appointment and then proceeded to ask me if I would be willing to change my service booking since the therapist usually doesn't like doing multiple services if they take 3 hours. I asked if the therapists communicate their preferences so that customers can't book something which cannot be performed. The receptionist started to get defensive and asked if I knew that 3 hours was a long time to book services for. I then asked her if I could give her some constructive feedback: that I found it very difficult to communicate with Soma and effectively book services-something I've done online hundreds of times over the years with different businesses. Surprisingly, she felt the need to announce that she would cancel my appointment and tried to hang up on me. I was able to get her to hear me in my request that my feedback simply be fed up to the management, but I experienced her as persistent in her "not my problem or responsibility" message. I told her that as a receptionist, she is the outward face of her company even if she isn't the owner or therapist. Overall an incredibly unprofessional experience. I will not return and will warn friends against Soma. There are so many wonderful businesses with excellent customer service in the area which I would encourage people to patron.

Both of these ladies will provide you with professional and kind service. Today I met Leslie for a facial.. what a special and caring person she is. She took her time, massaged my head, shoulders and parts of my upper shoulders and back. I felt so taken care of and she was just lovely to chat with. I didn't realize just how much I needed this pampering and relaxation. I left feeling so happy & relaxed... from a booked facial! I'm still new to this salon so I imagine as I experience new services I can come back and update you. Due to heavy rush-hour traffic, I was running late but was still actively on my way to the appointment. Shortly after the appointment time, I received a call informing me that the appointment would not proceed. The following morning, I spoke with a staff member identified as Lynn regarding the situation. During that conversation, I was told the practice had a "zero tolerance" policy for VA patients regarding missed appointments due to us being "non-paying customers", despite the fact that I had been traveling to the appointment and had not intended to miss it. What concerned me most was being referred to in a manner that suggesting I was a "non-paying customer" because my treatment was being provided through VA Community Care. I found that comment disrespectful and unprofessional. I used to attend these appointments back when they first started accepting VA patients and had an excellent massage therapist named Merlyn and always tipped her very well. Not to mention the fact that the VA does pay for these services. I understand that businesses have scheduling policies, but patients--especially veterans receiving authorized medical care--should be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
