Condenser units? Overpriced. It's like they assume customers won't do their homework and will just blindly pay whatever number they throw out. Two years ago, Basset offered to do an inspection and cleaning of my gas furnace and gas water…read moreheater for $49. The "inspection" was a joke. All the guy did was tell me the furnace worked, the flame looked good, and it was going to the right heat. I could have told him that, what was the point? The cleaning was even more of a sham. All the guy did was run a wet wipe over the top of the furnace and hot water heater. What an absolute joke. The entire time, the guy was trying to sell us a "pull and clean" service to pull the fan and clean it separately. I'm just thinking, if what you're doing is a joke why on earth would I pay you to do more? The service was supposed to include a replacement of the furnace air filter, but the guy tried to leave without providing a filter. I got him to provide one before I paid, but he was not nice about it. The worst part was that the guy charged $149 at the end. Not the $49 that the company offered when I signed up. Thankfully I found a voicemail clearly stating $49, so I contacted Basset and got them to refund me the $100 overcharge, which they sent via check a few weeks later. Suffice it to say, I won't use Basset again.

I will never use fountain valley mechanical again. I used them to install a new boiler less than a…read moreyear ago. At the time they installed it, they removed the backflow preventer that was connected to the boiler and forgot to reinstall it. This had been installed on the previous boiler and was required by law. It was laying on the floor. I called them back, told them they needed to reattach this as it is required by law and they came back and put it back on. Now approximately six months later, I had a RP backflow inspection that is required annually. The backflow inspection failed and it leaked in the brand new boiler Fountain Valley had just installed. The inspector noticed Fountain valley made a mistake putting two backflow preventers on the boiler now, instead of just the single testable backflow device that should be attached to the boiler. There are now two devices, one that is testable (the one I had them reattach) and one they installed that does not need to be there and is not testable. If someone at fountain valley knew what they were doing they would not have installed the non testable device as it was redundant. I didn't need it and yet I was charged for it. In addition, they turned both valves to the backflow device off causing water pressure issues. I called fountain valley and told them the backflow preventer is leaking and my inspection failed. Matt, the owner came out and proceeded to start yelling at both my plumber and me. He swore at us and used extremely vulgar language claiming they did nothing wrong. They obviously didn't know what they were doing. They installed a duplicate backflow device that isn't testable, messed up my testable backflow device and turned off both valves to the device. I had to pay the inspector/plumber on site to fix all of their mistakes on a brand new boiler. Ridiculous. I will never use them again.

They came out in Jan 2023 when the cold ruptured our kitchen water lines in numerous places. Not only did the repairs in brutal cold working on his back to access the outside crawl space but he installed two shut off valves so if this happens again we will not have to shut all the water off to the whole house. The price of regular inspections has remained steady for years. Techs have always been friendly, professional and informative. Highly recommend this company.

When our crawl space flooded 2 years ago, Bill came and crawled through the mud to inspect the furnace, which was ruined from the water. He got the fans on it and when it was dry he brought his team in and they got the old one out and a whole new system put in before it got really cold. He came back when it start to warm up outside and got the A/C running and it is so nice! Yesterday when my hot water tank failed after 10 years Ingrid sent a technician, Andrew, to my home as soon as possible, got the old one out after diagnosing that it had indeed failed. Due to new regulations on insulation the tank was way to big to fit back in the space, so it was decided that we would go tankless. They cleaned up and came back this morning, installed the new unit. DO NOT use or suggest anyone too this company especially the owner Mike he is dishonest…read more This is why I scheduled an appointment for a tuneup/clean up of furnace as well as an inspection of the furnace heater because it wasn't properly turning on Mike the owner stated that my six year old furnace "warranty expired" comes too find he stated my new furnace needed $1500 "in repairs that were needed" to fix he "faulty" furnace. So I payed Mike the owner $125 for the so called "tuneup" and "inspection" job and he went on his way. The next day I called a second company too get a second opinion and comes too find out they told me there was no tuneup done too the furnace at ALL!! Even though I paid Mike the previous day to do so. And that's NOT ALL. The "repairs" mike the owner suggested were "necessary" were false and dishonest according to the other company Terry and Nancy HVAC. So I had to pay a second time to get the job inspected and tuned up right this time.
