I ordered a strawberry mango smoothie with boba for Bookguy's which he thought had more flavor than most smoothies he's had lately. We both had a cookie--chocolate chip for me and peanut butter oatmeal for him. I liked his best, but both were like homemade. There are tables and chairs well-spaced apart for community members and various branded items for sale like tea towels and caps. A nice addition.

When I was there, several tables were occupied by folks who were probably locals. I was following the Nebraska Passport path when I found it in the rear of the antique store. It's located up about 3 steps so it may not be accessible to all, but some tables are below. The drinks menu is extensive with coffees and cold drinks as well. We opted for a strawberry smoothie and a peach smoothie. Service was fast and friendly. I loved the peach smoothie which was very flavorful. Bookguy was not as happy with his strawberry as he thought it a bit weak. Both came with a whipped topping if desired. Scones and muffins were available, but we settled for liquid refreshment. It's a lovely cafe that locals should support and out-of-towners are sure to appreciate.

A sign on the door indicated that they were closing at noon. The website and the Passport brochure said they were open until 5. I didn't see an additional alert on the Passport site saying they were closing early. So either they didn't inform Nebraska Passport or if they did, Passport didn't announce it. This has happened at other stops. Perhaps there was a family situation that made closing early a necessity. For that reason, I gave them two stars as the benefit of doubt. Unfortunately, I don't have any future plans to return to Columbus, so this bakery will remain shrouded in mystery.
