I ordered a flower bouquet from the Flower Hut website, and as we are in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic they were unable to get fresh cut flowers. I received a call from Penny and she offered a couple alternatives, and I chose the "blooming basket". They made it so beautiful and so colorful, the recipient was thrilled! We did have a little mix up on the delivery day - but they more than made up for it by delivering chocolates and a balloon bouquet as well! I'm completely Disappointed, I ordered my mother-in-law flowers for her birthday. It was a disaster, a horrible experience. Long story short, what was advertised online looked NOTHING like what we received. The owner emailed me to change her flowers, instead he decided to cancel the order. He (Bill) said had someone pick up her flowers and left. No exchange just took them from her. The issue was with me, I only wanted to pay for what I thought I purchased, not the sad looking smaller version of what she received. I asked for a refund of the original order that was far from what was advanced. Unfortunately they failed to give good service and did not keep his work of exchanging the arrangement. I miss Bill ! ! ! Let me start by saying that I have been a customer of The Flower Hut for almost 20 years. Bill and his wife ran a great shop and I was always well taken care of when I ordered flowers for my girl friend, my mother, my daughters, etc. I send flowers 10-12 times a year. Birthdays, Valentine's Day, Mothers Day, Get Well, and sometimes just as a surprise out of the blue. As time went on and he put up a website, it was even easier, plus I got an online discount for local deliveries. But sadly, all good things musts come to an end. Bill & and his wife retired and turned the business over to Juan Pablo. For a while, things seemed to be going on as usual. But things started going wrong. At first it was disappearing discounts. I'd have to call Juan when the local discount did not show up and he would always manually put it in. Workable, but inconvenient. But then things got worse. Deliveries were not being made. Mothers Day flowers not arriving on Sunday was bad enough. But it does no good for Get Well flowers to show up at the hospital after your father has passed away ! ! ! So, I put my flower deliveries on hold for a while. With Valentine's Day approaching, and it being the first V-Day for my mom since my dad passed away, I decided to got The Flower Hut another chance. I sent an email to Juan asking how he wanted me to proceed since the website (with a place to enter a discount code) does not accept discount codes. Much to my surprise, I got a reply from Penny, who had taken over the business from Juan. I thought, ahhhhhh, things might be improving. She did not offer a local discount, but did offer a one-time "Welcome Back" discount. So, I said to myself, "Let's go for it." I ordered flowers for both my mom and my GF. She told me to give her a call when I was ready to order. So, I called the store on Monday, the 11th. Penny was not in. The person that I spoke with on the phone then told me to email her my order, which I did as soon as I go off the phone. I got no response to my email on Tuesday, so I went by the shop on Wednesday to place the order in person. Again, Penny was not there. But Lisa was very nice and even honored the discount when I showed her the email on my phone. I'm thinking, "Things are lookin' up." Boy was I wrong. A little before 2:30 I got the "Oh what beautiful flowers!" text from my GF. But, of course, my mom's flowers, again, did not arrive. Bill, as I am approaching retirement myself in a couple of weeks, I certainly hope that you and your wife a re enjoying all of the free time and traveling or doing whatever else it is that you may want. You did a great job serving this community for a long time. But just like my co-workers have expressed how much they will miss everything that I do around the office just "getting done" I really miss you guys ! ! ! read more

For example - once, I sent flowers to the hospital, only to learn later that the patient had already been discharged - by the time I contacted Flower Hut, they had already re-routed the flowers -- he received them at his home that same afternoon, and they were beautiful. Everyone who's seen their arrangements has been absolutely blown away - and the flowers last for ages (my great-aunt raves about them). Sardha and Bill of the Flower Hut totally came to the rescue when my floral order with another company fell through the week of my wedding. Not only did they give me an amazing deal and work under an incredibly tight timeline, but they did a fantastic job and all with a smile on! Sardha does fantastic work; the next time I need flowers arranged I'm definitely heading down Independence to the Flower Hut! Their prices are far more reasonable than other Charlotte florists that are located in trendy neighborhoods. There aren't any recent reviews here on Yelp so hopefully this will help you decide before making a mistake. I ordered a specific arrangement from Teleflora for my sister's birthday and left it up to a "local" florist to fulfill. Why this flower shop "Flower Hut" accepted the order when they couldn't create the arrangement to look like the picture I'll never know. I received a thank you text with a picture from my sister and I was so embarrassed by what I saw. Instead of the arrangement looking "energetic" as described on the Teleflora website, it looked like a horizontal funeral spray!?! No polka dot ribbon, no hot pink roses or light pink glass cube vase. So I called Teleflora and they apologized and credited back my money. In order to do that they said the florist would need to pick up the flowers. I think a bad business move but in order to get the $60 back it was required. I called my sister and as embarrassed as I was by the arrangement now was twice embarrassed to say Flower Hut needed to pick up the arrangement. I then called Flower Hut around 2pm to share the situation to an employee named Amanda (I think) and said the flowers would be on the front porch after 5pm. She asked me to share pictures via email and I did so the owner Penny could see and discuss with the designer. I NEVER received a reply via email nor did Flower Hut after 2 days pick up the flowers. I also sent a second email and still no reply. A third embarrassment as neighbors pointed out there were flowers on her front porch!?! "Yes we know thank you." Don't use Flower Hut as you'll receive funeral arrangements for a birthday and probably an energetic polka dot pink and white arrangement for your funeral needs." read more

My son send his mother flowers for Mother's Day which were delivered on Saturday morning around 11:00 am by The Flower Hut. The arrangement in the vase was very nice. However, I was extremely disappointed with the appearance of the flowers we received. Some of the roses and other flowering were wilting. The flowers looked to be three to four day old and not freshly cut. For the price that was paid, we expected the appearance to be of a higher quality than what was received. My daughter order flowers for Teleflora for Valentine Day. Unfortunately the order was sent to Flower Hut. The flowers were to be delivered to my workplace on Sunday Feb. 14th. There was no one at the reception desk to open to gate for the driver at the workplace. The driver DID have my phone number and he called from an "unknown" number. I, like most people, do not answer "unknown" phone numbers. Of course, he did not do the professional thing and leave a voice message when he made the call. If he had, I would returned the call promptly and the day would have been saved. When I finally received a call from a "local" phone number, they advised me that the driver had gone for the day and I would not be receiving my flowers. My daughter saved up to send me those flowers. I was more upset that she was not able to give me the gift then I was of not getting the gift. The company was VERY unprofessional and rude. When they finally felt like making a call to me they were rude and they even hung up on me when I tried to explain the situation and try to come to a reasonable solution. However, I was not to be derailed from my mission of speaking to them. After several call backs, I finally got to speak with someone on the phone at Flower Hut. This woman was more interested in telling me what, I needed to "understand" than trying to resolve the issue . The only I thing "understood" is that they were paid to perform a service and they did not. They should be ashamed that they destroyed my daughter's pride of giving her MOM a loving gift. read more
