It was my mom's birthday on Aug 22 -- i called an hour before they closed and asked if it would be possible to deliver a bouquet to my mom who lives in the same area code. I was expecting them to say they could do it next day but thought worth a shot. Katie arranged the most gorgeous bouquet I have ever seen, and then dropped it to my mom the same day after they closed. The flowers lasted almost 2 weeks, and over the course of that my mom kept texting me pics saying how much they made her smile and how beautiful they were. My partner ordered an expensive arrangement for me for Valentines. He asked for roses and peonies (my favorite). He got roses, anthuriums, and protea. It's the most bizarre Hawaii meets Romance arrangement I've ever seen, and not in a good way. I'll give it that the flowers are high quality, but anthuriums? I forgot to mention the sprays of curly twigs that stuck up 6" above the flowers in an avant garde Tim Burton nod. It's so odd. We ended up disassembling it to make it look somewhat cohesive. I first learned about the Flower Lab when I was the recipient of a gorgeous floral arrangement which my sweetie had delivered to me. They were a truly stunning assortment, and what I found most remarkable was not only the beauty of the flowers, but also that they were still fresh & lovely 10 days after receiving them! Since that first exposure to this (darling) shop 3+ years ago, I exclusively use them for any of our floral needs & they always surpass my expectations (which isn't an easy feat). When it came time to select a florist for my (high maintenance) wedding, I met with the Flower Lab team & was so impressed with their ability to understand all of my (many) pinterest-inspired floral-design thoughts, all of which we're huge contradictions of one another. The ladies of Flower Lab were able to share their expertise; they shared a number of factors that I hadn't ever considered & they allowed me to actually determine what my vision was, which was challenging, as I went back-and-forth on color/softness/size/style/arrangement. I was a VERY difficult bride, and yet the professionalism, patience, artistic vision, kindness, style, & floral genius of this team made me feel at ease & never once did I feel like I was a bother (though I most certainly was!!). The best part of this experience (though working with Katie, Wendy & Tahmina was a delight), were the flowers. My wedding was beautiful -- BECAUSE of the Flower Lab! I was not a bride with a clear vision at all when it came to flowers, other than I wanted it to look pretty, but Wendy talked me through some ideas and ran with it. To say I was impressed and happy when I walked into the wedding venue is an understatement. Everything looked so beautiful and perfectly fit the vision that I couldn't quite articulate. She was always very cautious of our budget as well, and found ways to keep it beautiful and elegant at a price we could afford. I purchased the flower arrangement yesterday afternoon for a flower delivery today with one semi important request~ which was to call the recipient, my cousin, and ensure she would be home for delivery. She lives on a busy, high traffic street with porch in plain sight & I wanted to prevent it from being picked up and enjoyed by anyone else other than her! No questions asked, they did just that.
