My sister actually found her through instagram, and I instantly fell in love with her work. The vibe of our wedding was Italian Gothic, and I wanted our flowers to be bold and unique. Natalie was really easy to communicate with and fun to work with during this process. I live in Fullerton, and she even drove all the way up here to have a meeting with me! The day of the wedding, as soon as she brought the bouquets into the bridal suite everyone was so impressed with how stunning they were. She decorated our alter and made it look like something out of a fairytale. Everything really was stunning. I was a little worried about the venue looking bare because I didn't have too many decorations, but the floral arrangements absolutely made up for it. During our first meeting we had an easy conversation about the vibe of the wedding and what our style is. I don't know much about flowers, I just knew that I wanted some succulents and I wanted color, the rest was up to him. After the initial meeting he followed up with a document recapping everything we discussed and some pictures of what he'll use for inspiration. I loved everything, so I gave him the go ahead to do whatever he'd like. I had no idea that flowers could make my jaw drop and bring a tear to my eye...because that's what happened. The Bahia requires that you designate a coordinator for the day, but you are free to either provide your own or work with one of their select coordinators (in which case the additional cost is folded into the contract). We opted for one of their coordinators, and are very happy that we ended up working with Jamie. She first met us the night before the wedding at our informal rehearsal, where she displayed incredible patience as we rehearsed our entrance skit over and over and over again, running significantly later than she was supposed to be there. The next day, she immediately became a solver of crises, discoverer of oversights, decorator of the reception venue, orchestrator of wedding party members, and - as if that wasn't already enough - learned to operate the sound console for the audio. When we found ourselves without a towel and needing to dry our hands, she instantly offered her sleeve. In short, every issue that came up while Jamie was present (from well before the guests arrived until we started dinner at the reception) was resolved seemingly magically, and every detail that could have slipped through the cracks didn't. Through it all she was also a warm, encouraging, and supportive presence, and even though we had just met, it almost felt like she was a member of the wedding party. We brought a few piece of inspiration to our first meeting and started talking details right away. She knew right away how to execute our colorful, Mexican inspired wedding with class, and knew exactly how to keep it from looking like a touristy Mexican food restaurant! We reviewed different ideas, examples and colors right there on her iPad, so we both could get a vision for what we were hoping to achieve. Being able to see the options and discuss them in person, completely put me at ease. There was nothing left in translation and she asked all the right questions. But Ashley truly shined in execution - everything was flawless that day, and she helped to ensure all the little details were in place - from our family photo display to the guestbook table. I absolutely love how she incorporates succulents in her designs -- which is such a cool approach as you can save and repurpose them to bloom and bring continual joy after the florals fade.
