I had one dentist mess up a crown looked horrible and didn't fit right. After a year it fell out. Then a different dentist here gave me another crown. My husband and I both visited on separate occasions as new patients. They told us we each needed $7-8,000 worth of dental work, that I needed multiple cavities filled, a root canal, and a nightguard due to teeth grinding. They also did an under the gum deep cleaning on my husband and he was in pain for 24 hours afterwords. I've never had any problems with my teeth and I still sleep with the retainers I was given after my braces were removed, so there's literally no way I could have teeth damage from grinding. ZERO STARS! It's all a scam. My story is long but necessary to understand just how shiesty these people are. (Summary at the bottom) I called to make an appointment for a cavity and they told me on the phone that I would need to do a cleaning as well. Fine, I was due anyway. Day of: I go in and they take x-rays first. Then the tell me they will clean my teeth and then do a fill for my cavity. I begrudgingly agree to this order of events and they take me to the room to get my teeth cleaned. Heres where the sh*t show starts. The tech takes a look, FREAKS OUT, and then tell me I have severe gum disease. All in less than 30 seconds! She tells me they have to do a deep cleaning but that I need to sign off on it because it's a price difference. I have never had a deep cleaning and I trust them at this point in time and agree. However insurance only covers half and I will dish out $500 something as a poor college student. Cool. At this point in time it's been 2 hours and we are just starting the cleaning. I have to work soon and was not prepared to spend my whole day in the chair. The dentist comes in and does an exam and tells me I have a really gummy smile. How rude!!!!! He says it's not allowed but he can perform Botox for me!!!! Ummmmm?? Then he tells me I need invisalign, a nightguard, botox, and deep cleaning every 3 months (NOT covered by insurance). At this point I have to go to work and I am so angry that I am crying. THEY NEVER DID THE CAVITY. The only reason I came was for the cavity. As I was leaving my total estimate for his "recommendations" was nearing $7000. ____________ Follow up: I called to finally get mycavity taken care of. I didnt want to go back there but I needed my cavity fixed and they had the x-rays. I explained the situation and that I ONLY wanted the cavity taken care of. She told me that on my file I hadn't been there in years and that I needed a cleaning first and an exam. I told her that I was just there and had a bad experience that I remember clearly. We went back and forth and finally she found me under a different file. However, she told me that there was no record of a cavity or needing a filling from my aforementioned visit. She said that I HAVE to have another cleaning before I can get an exam for possible cavities. This didn't make sense to me since they told me on my previous visit that I definitely have a cavity. I'm not trying to spend another $500 something for a shady deep cleaning when all i need is a cavity filled. I did not schedule an appointment here and I will never go back. ___________ Every single person in my family has had an experience similar where they convince you on deep cleaning and other bs! TLDR: went for a cavity, instead got a $500 'emergency' deep cleaning. Was insulted and told by the dentist he could do botox for me. And the dentist tried to get me to shell out around $7000 on his "recommendations". Never got my cavity fixed and they couldnt find the entire incident/visit on file when I called. read more

This office charges things that insurance won't cover without explaining or asking you. Example: fluoride for adults is usually not covered. They applied it everything and cost me almost $40 extra dollars with each regular cleaning - they also set up cleanings every 3 months rather than every 6. I don't have extra work done, either. Just simple cleanings. I paid more in fluoride than in insurance coverage for the year! I have many examples of nickel and dime charges but the kicker today is that I got an email and text saying I owe $221 from service done 14 months ago. After checking my email and text threads, I confirmed this was the first I've heard of this charge. Then checked my insurance to see that they covered the work and no additional money should be owed. They link they sent to make me aware of the outstanding charges take you to a simple "enter your credit card info" branded with FM Dental and absolutely no explanation or further information. Just a way to collect money from people who don't know how to check on old services or are scared of having outstanding bills. This is THE LOWEST form of business practices and they should be totally ashamed! Do. Not. Do. Business. Here! read more

They lied about the health of teeth in order to get more money. They said my teeth were 4, 5, and 6's and I needed a deep cleaning under the gum line. I didn't feel comfortable with their assessment, so I left and visited a Dentist that I trust, and they told me the opposite news. My teeth were pretty much fine with one small cavity. Dr Hooper told me I had 5 cavities! No Joke. I wish I was making this up. Do not trust these reviews, they are paid for. They give a gift card of $20 if you leave a review. They are snakes that hide behind the guise of being Christian. To top it all off, I had multiple billing issues for my visit. I kept getting bills and had to call them a few times to resolve. If you go there after reading this honest review you are a fool! By the way, Dr Roy in Irving told me that my teeth were 2's, 3's and like one 4. Far cry from the inflated gum measurements from Dr Hooper. What a scam! read more

I hate to write a negative review, but I've given this place multiple chances to fix things and have not. After 4 separate visits, my tooth that I got a cavity filled in is STILL not right. It's super sensitive and I can't chew anything on that side of my mouth. When I got my cavities filled, Dr. Hooper didn't have the nitrous oxide turned up enough and I told him that I didn't feel it. I have extremely bad anxiety and need the nitrous to calm me down. Well, he didn't listen and proceeded to stick needles in my mouth and got mad when I told him to stop because it hurt. I told him that the nitrous had NOT kicked in and he didn't listen because he inserted the needle in my mouth AGAIN. I had a panic attack and started crying right there in the chair and just told him to stop. He walked off for like fifteen minutes. I don't know where he went and I don't really care. You would think he would listen to his patients. After a while he came back and turned the nitrous on really high and I told him I was good to go and it was fine. Not even an hour after I left, I had extreme pain in that tooth. After a weekend out of town, I went back. He said the filling had popped out and that it must have been me chewing gum or eating something chewy. When I told him that wasn't the case, he just gave me a weird look. He went in and put another filling in. After two more adjustments one of those teeth, I'm done wasting my time having him trying to "fix" it. The filling also rubbed my cheek raw and he had to polish it after he told me he already did a "great" job on polishing it. Yeah, okay. After coming to this place for 10+ years, I'm disappointed and safe to say I'm finding another dentist. He doesn't seem to do a good job and I'm tired of going back to have him make the filling worse. I'm concerned that he butchered the rest of my fillings.. guess we'll find out. read more

I took a lot of consideration writing this but this needs to be said. Dr. Hooper is no better than the last few that have come through the turnstile of this office. His bedside manner is absent and his patience for someone sensitive like me is ZERO and I question his integrity with respect to doing what the patient needs versus doing what will solely make his office money (read more below). The only saving grace of that office is the hygenists that were great. I have been to the office 3 times in the past 3 weeks, originally because a crown they did for me years ago broke off completely. I usually take gas because I get so tense but they didn't offer it so I thought I'd just try to be a big girl and go without. I left the office with a pinched nerve, jaw pain from over-excited teeth nerves and intense pain from the gingivectomy. The assistant told me I would have minor pain but I was in tears all night from it. I was back after a week because I thought I dented the temporary crown (top back tooth, so I couldn't see it) and there was pain in the tooth next to it. He insisted I do the cold test and said it was the only way to know, that if I felt the cold I didn't need a root canal on that other tooth. I felt the cold and then he started waffling about how I might still need a root canal on this other tooth! Gave me some high dose ibuprofen and sent me off. Yesterday got my permanent crown on. The two hygenists were WONDERFUL. The first explained the process and what parts of it would be uncomfortable for me and asked if I wanted to be numb for it. When she was fitting the crown she warmed it up with her hands each time so it would be less painful for me. The second one was really sweet and kind to me, which helped keep my mind off the fact that I was uncomfortable and in a dental office. When Dr. Hooper came in he asked if it fit, I told him where it felt a little tall, he filed it down and then was about to stick it back in my mouth I told him to warm it up first. He said they were putting it on for the last time with cement and stuck it on. Then he left. No have a nice day or anything. And he failed to mention AT ANY TIME DURING MY LAST 2 VISITS that my temporary crown HAD A HOLE IN IT!!!! I am sure that is why I had so much pain over the last week. Why that would not be important to fix? My raw tooth was exposed to the elements and could have had further decay yet he didn't say anything or bother to fix it. So thank you to the dental assistants who made the experience better, because without you it would have been completely disastrous. You are fantastic women. To Dr. Hooper, you have lost 3 patients from my family and I will be sure to share my experience with everyone I know in the area. Thanks so much for your time and care. read more

I had my semi annual cleaning today and I will say that Tawana, the hygentist is the best hygentist I have every had. I absolutely hate going to the dentist and I dread anyone putting metal tools in my mouth. Tawana has the best touch. She made me feel welcome and went about her job in a professional manner. She completed the cleaning in no time. I have been going to Flower Mound Dental for a few years and I like the fact that they have early morning appointments. The dentist that I have seen in the past decided to leave the company and start his own practice closer to where is grew up so I will have a new dentist next time I need work. I switched to this dentist after having terrible service from another nearby dentist. I know that I made the right decision. read more

Amber is great-she has been cleaning my teeth for several years! I was definitely not satisfied with the revolving door of dentists coming through there though and told her that I had to switch dentist offices. She told me to give Dr. Hooper a try, and I was more than pleased! He corrected a problem within an hour that the previous female dentist had messed up. Quick, painless, and he didn't charge me since it was a problem with the previous dentist's services. When I first started using Flower Mound Dental, they seemed to genuinely care about my teeth. But over the past couple of years, I have noticed that they seem to only care about finding ways to charge me for dental work that seems questionable. I will go in on a visit and my teeth look "perfect", than the next time I come in, the dentist will suddenly find all this work that needs to be done even though the hygentist says my teeth look great. Also the dentists are not very personable. They seem to be in a hurry and only want to take a cursory glance at my teeth before scheduling my next appointment. I went to a different dentist recently and according to them, my teeth are fine and I have none of the problems that Flower Mound Dental Associates claimed I had. If you care about your teeth, beware of them as they may be simply looking to drain more $$ from your pocket. read more

I went to see Dr. Hooper to have a chipped 4 tooth bridge replaced. Before going to see Dr. Hooper, I already knew that I needed more work done to my mouth than just the bridge replacement. Unfortunately, I am on a yearly budget as to how much I can spend on dental work ( my insurance company puts a limit on the dollar amount they will pay each year, plus I have a wife and 3 kids ). As I expected, Dr. Hooper recommended that I have quite a bit more work done in my mouth than just the bridge replacement. When I told him that the additional work would have to wait, Dr. Hooper seemed to get a little frustrated with me and had a hard time understanding why I wasn't willing to have all the work done right away. I left his office that day thinking, Dr. Hooper is definitely the most aggressive, high-pressure salesman-type of dentist that I've ever encountered. I had Dr. Hooper replace the 4 tooth bridge across the front of my mouth. The bridge ended up not matching up well with my other teeth ( shorter and out of alignment ) and it chipped within the first month. ( the previous bridge I had done by a dentist in Ft. Worth looked much better in my opinion and it lasted 9 years before chipping ). When I went back to see Dr. Hooper to have the bridge replaced ( luckily I had him tell me he would warranty the bridge before I let him do the replacement, because I know not all teeth / bridges are made the same, some are poorer quality than others ), he was very confrontational and condescending and tried to place the blame of the chip on me, due to the fact that I am missing some other teeth and need additional work done. I explained to him that my previous bridge lasted 9 years with my teeth just like they are and reminded him that I let him do the job because he had promised a warranty on the bridge. He didn't like hearing that and stood up and walked away in frustration. Dr Hooper will not be replacing my new bridge and I will either see him in court or have one of his other associates do the job. I would definitely recommend trying to find another dentist before going to see Dr. Hooper. read more

Since then we have a new dentist and no one has needed a deep cleaning. They use current technology but seems they sacrifice integrity to pay for it. Bedside wise, they seem nice enough so I hate to write a bad review. But they are just bad. It started with the hygienist claiming I did not floss enough. I told her not only do I floss multiple times a day, but my past dentist and hygienist always said they could tell. Then, Dr Hooper insisted I needed tons of work. That made no sense. I had no gap in care from my previous dentist. But, I had recently had a baby, so I figured that must have done it. I had the work done. Now my mouth won't stop hurting. They keep billing me. I ended up driving to where I used to live and going to my old dentist and the old dentist said not only did I not likely need the work, but he did a poor job. My teeth are ruined on that side.
