I'll give a factual timeline of our experience with CDA…read more -March: daughter accepted enrollment in 9th grade position for following school year / August and we paid $8K of $13K tuition. May: my husband's company, Spirit Airlines, went out of business suddenly. June: we learn that my husband is going to be out of work for at least 5-7 months due to market saturation and airline hiring time, and that the company closing means our 401K loan is due in full immediately, which depletes savings. We inform the school we must withdraw from enrollment due to extreme sudden financial change in our family. School response- we will pray for you, but you still owe the remaining $5k even if you never attend. We withdraw hoping for grace. July and August: multiple bills sent from CDA with late fees added. Husband is paying small chunks as unemployment checks come in, while my family has no health insurance and no income. School knows all of this and refuses to let the remaining balance go unpaid, though we gave notice over 2 months before school begins and aren't asking for the initial $8k back. I'll let you guess what we think of this school's heart after our experience. 2 stars for grace (on our end, not theirs)

She did OK in elementary school--made A's and B's--but constantly complained about having to attend and I hated that she was developing a bad attitude about school. After a day spent shadowing at EPS, she (and we) felt she had found her people! We love the small class size and the fact that the teachers are personally invested in the students. When our daughter first started, she was behind in a couple areas (mainly writing) and the English/Language Arts teacher called me in to discuss her concerns. During the meeting, a couple other teachers joined in. While I was a little caught off-guard, I realized their intention was to determine what they needed to do to get my daughter up to their standards. Now, as she completes her second year at EPS, I'm amazed at how far she has progressed. Her writing skills are incredible, and she has far exceeded what I learned in high school in social studies/history. She's developed a real passion for science and her IOWA test scores were amazing. I'm excited about her completing middle school at EPS. The nurturing atmosphere among her classmates and her teachers has allowed her to develop a true love of learning. We just started her at a public school for first grade and her teacher called today to let us know she is VERY far behind... how is it that you can spend a fortune for a private school, send your child there for three whole years, only to find out she literally didn't even fully learn the BASICS for first grade. The school/Faith community's spirit and pride is both evident and inspiring; although the campus is a bit outdated, and crowded in the middle of residential Grapevine, there is plenty of street parking, nearby eats, and friendly students/parents, from what I experienced. Also, the 7am carpool is better than the Texas State Fair's car show displays. Just like every other affluent private school, the number of soccer moms in 2014 Escalades outnumbers the annual Cadillac inventory for Sewell. Alas, this isn't much of a helpful review, but then again, if you're seriously looking for a good North Texas private school on here, you might wanna do some more googling. ;)
