This is a local landmark. I wish I could afford to have all my grandchildren enrolled here. Hey, I can dream, right?

I've never wrote a review before but I do feel the need to warn other parents about this school. My…read morechild has attended this school most his life and the first few years were some of the best but this last most recent year at school has almost made my child completely give up on school and his teachers all together. My interaction with my the school office staff has been horrendous. Their Entitled attitude towards a parent/child is atrocious! Not to mention they have some of the worst scores/ratings in the school district. When my child was having trouble learning in class they Wanted to put my child directly in a special Ed course and his teacher just wanted to wash her hands and didn't want to have to put any more work into trying to teach or help I have never met a teacher who acted like she didn't want to teach or be there at all. She was a much older woman so I'm thinking she probably has Been teaching for quite some time and is just done with it so my first thoughts are why is she even there I hated that my child had her as a teacher because her not wanting to teach my child made my child not want to learn or be there all together. Now let me move on to the office staff- Let me start off by saying there are a select few very nice teachers and one or two nice ladies I've met in the office but the others who have been there longer than the rest need an attitude adjustment. I've never met the actual principal as a mater of fact as many years as I've been there I've never ever seen her so that is the first red flag. Many of my interactions have been with the assistant principal who seems helpful at times but could definitely do better. The secretary Mabel is one of the rudest Human beings I have ever met in my whole life she will roll her eyes at you and make underhanded comments about your child under her breath if you ever meet her, run! one lady at the front desk I believe her name is carmen is so very rude as well. Not very helpful and never friendly or smiling. You would think they would get some nicer people in the front. I'm so glad my child does not have to physically be in the school right now and you better believe when school opens up my child will not be going back to that school again and that is very sad because my child has made so many wonderful friends there and past teachers but this one year just almost ruined the whole elementary experience and that is the reason why I chose to write this review. Bottom line-go elsewhere for education and a nice experience for your child. Crow elementary is full of dreadful experiences.

We made the tough decision to transfer our daughter to Children's University to be closer to home…read more I couldn't be happier with the decision. The greatest compliment has been my child saying about her old school, "I'm not returning because I love CU." (Talk about music to our ears when she said that.) CU is a warm, family-oriented environment that caters to the individual child. It provides the academic rigor vital for us, along with a host of enrichment opportunities from robotics and animal husbandry to chess and cheer. During our exploration, what sealed the deal was what we witnessed during our CU tour. We passed a group of children (who appeared close in age to my child) working on a group project in the library. They were discussing their different perspectives and had books that they were referencing. While we knew nothing about the project, I was impressed by how immersed they were in the work, and all appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the educational experience. So many vital skills were underway without them knowing it, which filled us with optimism about our child's future development at CU. Our family couldn't be happier to be part of the CU family. Our daughter is thriving; she has the best, most wonderful teacher. It's a true partnership, and we're beyond grateful. If you're looking for a program for your child, I recommend CU. It's a blend of academic excellence with a curriculum that challenges and inspires, enveloped in the most attentive environment dedicated to helping your child reach their fullest potential.

It's so funny leaving this review 20 years later. I went to CU from PreK-1st grade. It's a part of…read moremy childhood I hold onto fondly. I was a student when the giant treehouse was built. I don't want to be a teacher but if I were I'd want to be like the ones who shaped my time here. It makes me tear up thinking about all I experienced from meeting famous authors, starring in musicals, tipping in my Halloween costume on the yellow brick road, and that one time I refused to color in my connect the dots assignments and it was sent home with a note (my mom later framed it). Arlington is already diverse but it was good to see all the different backgrounds my friends were. If you're wondering if your kids will value going here, I am certain they will remember it fondly as CU fostered my love for reading, adventure, and friendship.
