My son had an appointment with Thoa today at 6:15. We arrived at Floyd's at 6:08. Upon arrival, Thoa was sitting at her station on her phone. She never looked up from her phone. At 6:19, she continued to be on her phone even though our appointment was at 6:15. In previous appointments, we showed her photos of hairstyles that my son liked. And we made sure to tell her not to cut too short. To my displeasure, each and every time, it was much shorter than expected. We walked out of our appointment today due to our perception that our time didn't matter to her. It would have been nice of her (if she was on her break) to let us know that she would be with us momentarily. We'll be choosing a different stylist and salon next time. read more

At the beginning customer service was very good. However, as of recent, we will not be returning to this location. My son's appointment got changed three times. Options were either go with another stylist that same day or reschedule to another day with the stylist that we had requested. Three times we had to go through this and front desk was never helpful. I have had good experiences here at this place before but I have never had such an interesting experience. I went to get a haircut today, the lady Karina was super nice and very sweet. When I came home and was brushing my hair, the hard part that she did was barely there. Other than that she did a fantastic job. Thank you Karina! I love this place but do not know what to say about this business, so what I can say is they do a pretty good job when it comes to your hair at least but not the hard parts. The service is not good. I've been here at least a dozen times and had 4 different stylists. Roughly half of the times I've got my haircut here I've had to fix things that were missed. Also, the level of professionalism is low. Expect to hear inappropriate conversations while sitting in the chair. While waiting my turn I've watched the host/greeter treat potential customers very poorly, turn business away, and then celebrate with other staff that they couldn't accommodate the customer. read more

I had an appointment for 1:00 and got in right on time, seemed like this was going to be a good experience. This was during the COVID pandemic so they had a trailer set up in the rear parking lot for haircuts. The trailer wasn't too far away, maybe a one minute walk each way. No big deal at all. At 1:07 I was back in the lobby paying $27 for this haircut. When you take into account the short walk, my haircut took under five minutes. $27 for a five minute haircut?!?!? That's $5.50 A MINUTE! As far as the haircut, not surprisingly a poor cut. I literally had many hairs that were never even cut. I had to have my wife trim all the uncut hairs. Look at the date on many of the positive reviews, many are 10+ years old. This is a classic poor business plan. Start out providing a quality product at an affordable price. Then as time goes on you raise your prices dramatically and reduce the quality. At these outrageous prices, go to a "real barbershop" and get a real barber cut. "FAST IS NEVER GOOD AND GOOD IS NEVER FAST" DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

I tried taking my son to get a haircut tonight. It was 4:40 on a Thursday evening. When we walked in no one acknowledged us, stood at the counter for quite some time until someone walked over. The young person informed us, quite rudely, that they were all booked up. I noticed there were only 3 stylists with 3 times as many empty chairs, so I asked her if there better days to come when there were more stylist. She then proceeded to tell my child and I in a very condescending and nasty manner that "there is this thing called making an appointment and we have to take them first." I've received consistently good haircuts here. I always call in advance to be put on the waitlist. Their recommended wait time is quite accurate - if they say it's 45 minutes, I show up in 45 minutes and rarely wait for more than a minute or two after check-in. I will have to retry the scheduling app. The one time I tried (online) it seemed like the stylist I wanted wasn't available for a week even though she clearly had hours scheduled. I'll try once again, but in all honesty, just about all the stylists do a good job with my hair. The hot neck shave and the post-haircut massage is a nice touch. I came in for a regular fade haircut and left very satisfied. My stylist name was Marlon C and if I can I'm gonna try and get him every time from now on. Only waited for around 1 min till I was called back and asked what I'd like. I had a general idea of what I'd like and showed a example and Marlon said it would be no problem. While cutting my hair he made it a point to keep positive conversation going throughout the haircut and when I asked about a particular part of my hair that had been hard to style he offered some great advice. Showed up at 439 for the 430 appt. with being treated like I didn't just get off the phone with them. I thought for certain they had me mistaken for another client.. nope. Declined us due to being marked as a NCNS. I still cannot believe the difference with how this was managed from getting off the phone to stepping inside the shop. I am so picky about my hair cut and the last two I have had ruined my hair. I went into Floyd's not only needing a cut but needing repairs from two below average hair cuts. Amy was fantastic I didn't think she would be able to fix it and still keep it the style that I like. However, she did a wonderful job and I will only be going to her from now on. The entire staff is very friendly. The store is clean and the have a great selection of products. I've never been as frustrated and disappointed with a business as I was with Floyd's today. I joined Yelp today just to leave this review because I was so upset. I've been a customer for almost 15 years. I get a haircut about once a month and I always tip at least 45-50%; in other words, I've been loyal customer and I've spent a lot of money supporting their business. They used to allow walk ins, but now you have to make an appointment if you don't want to wait for hours, so I make an appointment, about a week in advance. They make me confirm said appointment. I could talk about how I've noticed a decline in service over the last few years, but I see others have beaten me to that particular punch. It's important to note that every single time I show up for my appointments (on time 99.9 percent of the time), I've had to wait AT LEAST 5 minutes for them to get to me, often times it's longer. I had a bit of a crisis situation happen today and, as a result, was exactly five minutes late to my appointment, no more, no less. When I arrived I was told that their policy was, after 5 minutes, they would fill my slot with someone else. 5 minutes is not a very large window in the grand scheme of things when you think about it. I asked to speak with a manager. She once again referred to the policy, and said she was sorry. I was not mean to her, nor did I yell at her, I simply asked her to be compassionate to someone who showed up a little late because of unforeseen circumstances. No dice. Just policy and "I'm sorry". I told her she was not sorry, because if she were actually sorry, she would work something out for me. I deal with policy and law all day everyday, but I also demonstrate basic human compassion and work with people who are in much more dire circumstances than being 5 minutes late for an appointment. I compassionately help solve problems for them that are far more complicated than being 5 minutes late for a haircut. I told her several times that I almost always have to wait more than five minutes for them when I have an appointment, and that it seemed like this policy was a one way street that did not favor the customer, again, I was met with policy. I made the appointment. I confirmed the appointment. I told them twice that I would be there. They have my phone number. You'd think maybe a call or a text to make sure I'm alright, you know, an action that might represent basic human decency and compassion, or at the very least just check to see if I'm on my way and if I'll be there soon, but no. Just policy and an insincere, placating apology. 15 years and a literally thousands of dollars spent does not earn one loyalty at Floyd's it seems; rather, it could not be more clear that I, and my years of loyalty meant absolutely nothing to them, I'm just a hairy dollar sign. So to Floyd's, if you care at all, which I highly doubt, please know that I will never step foot in one of your shops again, out of sheer principal, and I will tell anyone who will listen not to give their business to your company. read more

Brailey is amazing! I was at a level 4, 5, 6, ombre, she got me to an all over color level six and my hair isn't damaged at all! not to mention she was very attentive and held a great conversation. Let's review this barbershop in terms of quality, experience, and price. Quality: Before coming to Floyd's, I didn't know that it was possible to screw up a buzz cut. I did not notice how poorly my hair had been cut until I got home from the barbershop. My hair was of mostly short length, but it was choppy on the sides and in the back. There were clear lines between where the stylist had used one hair clipper guard and another. My hair was literally a hack job. Experience: Having my hair cut at Floyd's was unpleasant. The stylist dug the clippers into my scalp, making each pass at my hair painful. Her choices of conversation topics were equally cringeworthy; she talked about the financial decisions of her friends and how she did not like sports. The headache-inducing haircut was capped off by an unannounced and invasive rubdown using a electric massaging vibrator. The stylist palmed it across my back and down my arms for about 45 seconds. It was an awkward, half-hearted event to cap a disappointing, half-hearted haircut. Price: $16 is steep for a men's buzz cut. $16 is especially steep for a bad buzz cut. No thank you. TL;DR: Someone painfully screwed up a buzz cut. Avoid this place. read more

Great selection of the styling products I use: another BIG star because no other place nearby carries them under one roof! I cannot tell you how many other quick salons we've been to that have left my kids looking like they've cut their own hair while struck with vertigo, the flu, and a hallucinogenic fever. I've been getting my hair cut here for years, and I've always been happy with the experience. I don't have a particular stylist I request; I'll just go with whoever's available. I always get to chat with an interesting person while they cut my hair. I'll admit that I'm not that picky about haircuts, and I don't get my hair colored or anything like that.
