I'm extremely disappointed with our experience at Floyd's Barbershop, specifically with Jestina. I booked with her because she's supposedly one of the best, and after my son grew his hair out for four months, we were really looking forward to getting him cleaned up. I clearly asked for a low taper fade and even showed a TikTok example photo to make sure we were on the same page. Unfortunately, that's not what we got at all. Instead of a low taper, my son ended up with a very high fade taken all the way down to the skin. There was no smooth transition or blending -- it doesn't fade into anything. It looks harsh and uneven, nothing like the example we provided. What was even more disappointing was the lack of accountability. It clearly did not resemble the photo we showed, yet there was no apology or acknowledgment from Jestina. No effort to make it right. That was honestly the worst part -- the customer service. To make matters worse, my son has been bullied all week at school because of this haircut. He's been called names and has said he doesn't even want to go to school. After growing his hair out for months and being excited about this cut, his confidence has completely taken a hit. As a parent, that's heartbreaking. Even the receptionist in the front apologized and acknowledged that it was a bad haircut from Jestina he gave me 50% off and gave me his recommendation of Luis the barber at Floyd's to fix it for free. My fiancé had a great first experience with Rissa so he recommended her for my teen son. Rissa made my son feel instantly comfortable. He's always been a kid that hates haircuts and will fight against one to the bitter end. She had him chatting the whole time and was finished in no time. So I came in with long hair, about 18 inches, and wanted about 6-7inches off clean it up. My barber took close to 12 inches off and it was uneven. After clean up to make it work, it was closer to 14 inches off. Very unhappy and we had to stop cutting to not make it worse than it already was. This was my second time coming to this particular location, and the second time I got a pretty messed up haircut. This time I got awful razor burn to top it all off. I remember the first time I went to a Floyd's I was impressed with their sense of style, but now I can't really trust that I can go in there and get a nice cut. I'm sure there are wonderful stylists there that do a great job, but so far I'm 0/2. That being said, the manager was very attentive when she saw the razor burn, and refunded my money, gave me some neosporin and in addition I got a call from the "home office". When I checked in half an hour late on the delay, the front desk staff told me my appointment was at 12! I showed him the confirmations for 11:30. I had an experience where I asked to make an appointment and the receptionist was rude while maintaining a fake tone. I asked for an afternoon appointment and she answered with, "12 o'clock is afternoon". She called me "silly" and made another snide remark saying, "it must be very early in the morning for you", the time was 10:30am . She maintained an upbeat voice while being condescending. Was running a touch late, called and verified it would be okay I was 10 mins late, walked in 6 mins after my appointment time and the barber walks up to the counter and says "what do you want to do to your hair" I said 0-2 and trim the top, he doesn't talk to me and just tells this dude with a long beard "I can't do that with time give him to somebody else".
