About six years ago I got the only haircut in my life that I've ever liked. It's a typical short on the sides, long on top but no one's been able to replicate it. I chalked this up to one of the lost secrets of life and gave up. When I moved back to Irvine last year I was looking up haircut places near me and found this place. The first time I came in, Alisa talked to me about my hair for about three minutes. I don't really know the haircut vocabulary with fades or parts or inches or millimeters or whatever but somehow I managed to explain (badly) what I was looking for. Alisa is awesome. I have been going to her for about a year now. I am on a three week cadence. My hair is fine/thin so finding a workable style is always an art form and she handles it with flying colors. What I appreciate about her is the time she takes to cut my hair. Too many times other people have rushed through the process and with my thin hair, one snip can create a less than desirable finish. Not with Alisa. She listens and REMEMBERS what I have asked in terms of a cut and finish every time. I know people don't always like talking during a haircut, but I appreciate the conversation throughout the cut, which makes the time fly and the session quite enjoyable. This is not your typical barber down the street. Remember you pay for what you get and I find tremendous value with her fees. As long as she's cutting hair, I have found my spot for life. I've been going to Alisa for a little while now and I wholeheartedly trust her with my brows haha...her shop is located inside Sola Salons and while parking in the shopping center could be tough after work, I appreciate that Alisa does work late on weeknights to accommodate the working folk. Definitely utilize her online appointment system and try to make an appointment at least a week in advance if you have a specific date/time need cuz she will get booked up! A normal brow/lip wax costs me $40 and it's definitely a worthwhile expense for me haha. Alisa is meticulous and thorough and makes sure theres no stray hair out of place. She will wax, trim, and tweeze the hairs for you and she's perfected her own stencil system to shape the brow to that particular individual. On top of that, Alisa is really friendly and polite. The Sharper Look is located in Sola Salons. Look for unit 21. I usually get a side part with a mid skin fade and Alisa did a great job on my haircut. She was very professional and was easy to talk to. I ended up opting for the VIP haircut so I got a nice towel wrap on my face at the end. Overall, a very relaxing experience. I had given a few good stylist in DTLA a try but didn't like any of them for long term. So decided to get on yelp and search for one in Irvine. Ever since (I think almost 3 years and now I moved to Irvine), I've had the best experiences with Alisa. She always comes up with new and modern styles If you don't have anything in your mind for a haircut. The whole experience is very personal and relaxing as she offers to play music of your choice, as well as little snacks and drinks. We've had lots of deep conversations rather than small talks and she even has given me lots of good advice on how to run a small business.
