The barber shop I typically go visit was not open on Sunday and I decided to give another barbershop a shot. Harold's Barbershop is located in Irvine and they offer luxurious haircut services from the fade haircut, beard trimming & shaves, grey blending, waxing, facial, etc. I was able to book a same-day appointment at 6 PM on Harold's website. Walk-in is welcomed. [Parking]: Free and easy parking within the plaza. [Atmosphere]: Very modern vibe and apparently they offer complimentary drinks (I only learned about it after my haircut was done). [Booking]: While they allow online appointment, please note that there's no cancellation within 24 hours of the schedule appointment. I booked a session with Maher. [Price]: Classic haircut for $70 (pre-rinse, desired haircut, hot towel, styling with product) for a 40-minute time slot. I asked the staff about the Yelp 50% off discount code and the staff said the code is not valid anymore. However the staff offered another active & working Yelp discount code and was able to take $17 off. Honestly even with the discount, it was still one of the most expensive haircut services I have ever had. There's also a Groupon deal, but apparently it is for the 1st time customer only. They also offer $220 Harold's Experience (pre-rinse, desired haircut, shampoo + conditioning, scalp massage, hot towel + hot lather neck shave, styling with product, beard trim no straight razor, face mask, nose + ears + eyebrow wax) and $1,000 Harold's Black Label Experience (2-hour private barbershop takeover - Harold's Experience + a drink, custom music, and complete privacy. Leave with a styled finish, lightly misted with a premium cologne, and gifted with a take-home grooming kit). [Haircut experience - classic haircut]: No pre-rinse for my haircut, but Maher was great at execution. I showed him a picture of a specific hairstyle. Next he took a picture of my desired haircut and the result was what I wanted - so nothing to complain about on the actual haircut result. [Conclusion]: The overall experience here reminded me of Edition Studio in San Gabriel Valley - high quality haircut but not exactly an affordable experience (don't forget it's $70 for a classic haircut without discount + tip). I would consider coming back here again if I need a special haircut. read more

I came here a year ago for the first time and had Maher cut my hair. He did such a great Job that I came back to Harold's 4 more times to have Maher cut my hair. I then got a message from Maher saying he moved to a new Barber in Costa Mesa. Since that was out of my way I decided to just go back to Harold's and have someone else cut my hair. The new guy who cut my hair last week did a horrendous job. It's literally the worst haircut I have ever had, I could have cut my hair myself better than this. I even showed him a picture of the job Maher did and he still messed it up and only looked at the picture one time for like 2 seconds. I will never come to Harolds again and pay $100 for a bad haircut when I can go to Maher's new place that charges $55. Harold's had a chance to win me over and keep me as a customer with a new barber and they blew it by hiring someone who either can't cut hair or purposely messed my hair up. The last haircut I got here was sometime in 2025, and it was about $55, so somehow the price has literally doubled in a VERY short timespan. No idea what they are thinking. The haircuts and barbers are consistently great here and I'd give them five stars. I haven't had a bad cut in the 1.5 years that I've been going, but the price increases are astronomical. When I started going it was $45 for a classic, which I was already on the fence about, and now that's a $70 haircut for a 40 minute time slot. The consistency is great, but my haircut isn't that technical and I struggle to justify $45 plus a tip, let alone $70 for the cut. I hope the price gets adjusted to something more reasonable in the near future so I can go back, but it's really difficult to justify the current price point. read more

We had such a great experience at Harold's. My son was a little nervous going in since he had a bad experience at another place, but Rachel immediately put him at ease. She listened, was patient, and gave him a total glow-up - his hair turned out magazine-quality perfect! This is the current shop my barber (Andrew) has been at for a while, and by far my favorite. Selfishly I'd love to not recommend him so it will be easier to book times with him, but he's just really good. It's a cool space to talk music, cars, fashion with the haircutters / reception. Do not dye your beard here! I rarely give a review unless it's 5 stars but I feel like I have to this time. I asked for light brown close to red for my beard and they gave me very dark black instead. . Rushed home and shaved it off immediately. It looked ridiculous. The trimming of the beard was good though and the atmosphere was fun and the barber was super nice. I just think dying is not their specialty. I'm sure they're good at cuts and shaves though. read more

I recently made an appointment to get my hair and beard done at Harold's. Having never been there before, I chose it based on its proximity to me (and yelp's reviews). I believe Jaqueline, who answered my call, was incredibly polite and accommodating, offering several options to fit my schedule. I went in with no particular expectations other than hoping for a decent job. KAREN, however, exceeded my expectations. Despite my initial disheveled state, she did an amazing job with both my hair and beard. I gave her a few notes but mainly let her use her artistic skills as she saw fit. The result was fantastic. Karen spent a good amount of time with me, and after an hour of great and deep conversation, I left Harold's feeling rejuvenated and looking at least 10 years younger. My daughter even remarked that she now has a father again instead of a grandpa! Bravo, Karen! Five stars for her outstanding work and wonderful personality. I went here after seeing the same barber for 12 years. The series of why I no longer use previous barber had nothing to do with her overall skill in her craft. When I decided to leave though, I found it hard to find someone, and realized I had to take a leap of faith. After all hair does grow back. I found Harold's and made an appointment with Karina. She is personable and really good at what she does. Understandably, she was conservative with my cut seeing that my past, and her wanting to keep a client. She did great. The place will get 5 stars regardless of this next part. The part I found disappointing( not their fault, I knew what I was getting), no goatee trim included in the price, the scalp treatment isn't what I'm used to, and for the price, I I kind of expected all of these things. I do not hold Harold's, Karina, the owner or the establishment in any ill regard for it. It's a business, at the end of the day we make decisions as consumers. I think I will go back, but I will also be looking, for sleeping that gives me more bang for my buck. read more
